    Taionia is a Hyliel Cielothar. Her race grants her the following:
    • Spirit Familiar 1: Tai's familiar takes the shape of a magpie bird, but it currently has a tenuous link to Aloria due to her rejection of it. It manifests periodically, and she is quick to put it down, upon which it vanishes into thin air.
    • Empath Sense 2: Her sense of empathy is lacking, and so she uses this ability to better get into the headspace of other people. She doesn't think this is a Hyliel ability.
    • Element Control 2: This ability often manifests on accident while performing feats of acrobatics. It inadvertently gives her an extra push when making leaps, and a little extra height when jumping upwards. She chalks this up to simply being light-weighted.
    • Light Mend 3: Taionia rarely uses this ability, as she has no practice with it. She feels invigorated by sunlight, but it doesn't give her any strength.
    • Arcane Mastery 1: Taionia never had any practice with this ability, so her use of it is shaky at best. She's trying to get better with it though.
    • Shrewd Insight 1: This, combined with Empath Sense gives Tai the impression that she is good with people, when her crassness is enough to put most off. She doesn't think of it as a Hyliel ability either.
    Taionia's training gives her the following abilities:

    • Skin Purge 1: She has various scars on her body with which she covers either with makeup or with clothing.
    • Rogue Gift 1: Her time in Daenshore taught Tai the trials and errors of pickpocketing, as it was her main means of income as a girl. She's good at misdirection, and uses it artfully to grab someone's attention away from where her hands are.
    • Rogue Gift 4: A combination of hunting and larceny have molded her footsteps into being quite silent to most whenever she wants to. When trying to be stealthy, she knows what equipment to muffle, and how to do it.
    • Wall Climb 3: A childhood of climbing trees and getting into things she shouldn't has taught her how to look for roads where others see walls.
    • Sleight of Hand: From a young age, she would perform tricks requiring dexterity as well as pull pranks either by lifting from or depositing into pockets.
    • Burglary: She does not know how to pick locks, but she is very creative in finding bypasses by climbing to windows, unhinging doors, etc.

    Taionia is afflicted with Cahalism, and her soul line is the Scor soul line. As such, her eyes are not green, and instead are totally dark grey, with shimmering teal irises that glow more brilliantly as her Cahalic abilities manifest. Along her joints run dark lines like those of henna tattoos, along with lines that run from the middle of her throat to the middle of her lower lip, as well as lines running from the elbows to between the middle and ring fingers. These dark lines grow darker and more pronounced the longer she goes without feeding.

    When she transforms her body contorts itself, turning quite literally inside out and leaving a Cahal known as "The Singer" in her place. The dark lines on her skin are focal points for the transformation, like creases in the flesh where the body inverts and twists. If injured in her Cahalic form, crack and chips appear on the statue. These wounds reflect on her true self when she changes back.

    The Singer appears to be a marble statue depicting a humanoid female with chitinous armor and the head of a cicada. The statue appears weathered by time, grayed and greened by lichen growing on it. Fissures run in the statue's upper body, deep from within which corrupt Exist energy flows in vibrant blues and greens. This same flow rolls over the eyes of the statue like rain on a window. The statue is expressionless save for the intensity with which this blue-green light glows, which fluctuates depending on mood and on action.

    The Singer's body can contort in many ways, the most impressive of which is the ability to split the arms into two from the elbows down. These extra limbs do not grant any more dexterity or power than usual, but are instead a means of using different abilities such as wall climbing. Items on Taionia's person can also be summoned from the gap in the arms, such as arrows, and her axe.

    When shifted into the Singer, Taionia can use the following abilities:

    • Omniaware 1: The Singer uses its antennae to feel not the air, but feel the minds of others. It can use this to detect approaching enemies, but it is not refined enough to detect any meaning from thoughts, merely the presence of thoughts.
    • Illuvation 1: When utilizing this ability, the Cahal begins to let a rolling, whining chirp loose, like the cry of dozens of insects, though anyone targeted by it cannot hear it at all. This 'singing' is the namesake of the Singer, and those that witness it are under peril of falling into its spell. This ability is most commonly used to render the Singer undetectable, as well as weave convincing illusions meant to lure would-be targets into dangerous positions. Adrenaline disrupts the song's ability to work, and as such once the hunt begins proper, the Singer must make use of other abilities.
    • Summon Wall 1: The Singer rarely has use for this ability.
    • Predator Leap 1: When casting this spell, wisps of corrupt Exist energy float about between The Singer and the chosen target, and after a few seconds, the wisps glow brightly. Once the wisps flash, the Cahal moves too quickly for the eye to follow and slams into them, pinning them straight to the ground.
    • True Path 1: When The Singer manifests this ability, it explodes into a cloud of many flying locusts, wasps, and cicadas, all of which are white as pure marble. The cloud of insects later coalesce into the Singer once more.
    • Light Mend 3: The Singer is stronger when exposed to natural light. Its body becomes more dense, and it endures pain much easier.
    • Wall Climb 4: While the Singer's arms are separated into four, it can scale walls much like any insect can.
    • Sollerian/Scor Mist: A cloud of gnats, flies, and hornets made from marble emerge from the Singer's body, which exaggerate the Singer's ability to contort its body, so that it can move with much greater agility.
    • Sustenance Gift 1: The Singer rarely has use for this ability.
    • Dark Curse 1: Whenever present at a ritual, the Singer makes certain to erase the memories of the one being sacrificed.

    • Taionia has been living in Regalia for about three years now. She boarded a ship to leave Daenshore in the wake of the Bone Horror crisis, but her situation has improved little from the move. She was a bandit for quite a while, and is just now trying to turn a new leaf after having robbed her fellow bandits blind one night.
    • Taionia Seshe Kerrien was born on August 30th, 289 AC to a Cielothar mother named Llenawyn, and an Ailor father named Iarlaith. She was raised under sole custody of her mother in a Cielothar village neighboring Daenshore. There, she lived a modest upbringing befitting any ordinary Cielothar child.
    • Though she puts on a tough and confident front, she really feels as though her life lacks purpose. Because of such, she doesn't really have any goals, besides the pipe dream of one day owning her own ship to sail the seas as she pleases.

    • Taionia's face is round (for a Nelfin), button-nosed, and absolutely covered in freckles. Her eyes are almond shaped and colored a verdant green, the brows straight, the hairs brown, but with the pale shine of ginger. Her ears are like an Ailor's with attached lobes, but tapered at the tips and sitting at a lower angle from Nelfin blood. Her mouth is wide, the lips full, and her teeth imperfect. Her hairline has no widow's peak, is somewhere between wavy and curly, and most of it is kept shorter than shoulder-length aside from the bangs which come down to her cheeks. Her hair is a shade of red described best as "rusty auburn"; literally a fusion of her father's ginger and her mother's dark brown.
    • Taionia's body is well cared for. She has a mesomorphic build, and an hourglass body shape. She has quite a bit of muscle definition, at its strongest in the abdomen and the legs. Fat collects at her arms, legs, and hips, giving the impression that she is a little bit toned yet average at first glance, but pressure to these areas would reveal a very firm lattice of musculature beneath. She has many freckles and tiny birth marks on her body, as well as several scars that she often covers. The hair on most of her body is ginger, but defiant patches of brown find their way through.
    • She prefers simple clothing that is warm, but breathes well. She wears outfits typical of peasant women, often brown, white, and black, with green as an accent color. An important caveat to make however is that she almost never sacrifices freedom of motion in favor of frivolity. A skirt will be cut in such a way that it moves freely, else there will be a slice in the side she would have put there herself in order to let her legs move fully. In addition, she always wears pants when it can be helped. In other words, she enjoys dressing like a pirate in casual wear might. She isn't one for accessories, and when she has jewelry on her person it will be concealed in some way, such as tucking a necklace into her shirt, or wearing a ring on a loop around her neck rather than on her fingers.
    • Tai speaks with a slow and relaxed cadence usually, often blurring words together into compounds that don't really exist. "You know the way?" would be pronounced "Y'know th'way?" When she speaks more frantically, this blurring of words becomes more exaggerated, and if whipped into a frenzy she can barely speak Common at all. Her accent is distinctly Eruinin - comically so - and in a forced manner. Those that become close to her will find that she slips out of this accent when she feels relaxed and safe, speaking very normally aside from the occasional forced compounding and broken speech of a peasant.

      • Her color alignment is Red (primary). She believes foremost in the freedom of choice hominids have, and has chosen that her own path in life is one of living to the fullest, preferring fast and full than slow and hollow. She is strongly individualist, and living a quiet home life is something she can't handle. She believes that a quality of sentience is freedom from inherent nature. Perhaps ironically, she thinks instincts and things picked up from childhood are not something a worthwhile person wears on their sleeves, and it is instead conscious choice that separates boys from men, and girls from women.
    • Personality Type
      • The Entrepreneur: "A life where you don't take risks is not a life worth living. When the chance comes, seize it; laugh, sing, dance, and don't ever let the night come to an end."
    • Religion
      • Faith of Estel, 4/10. Taionia was raised by a Cielothar mother, and she imparted her faith onto the girl whilst she growing up. When she became separated from her mother, her faith remained, but was shaken by her experiences of the Bone Horror crisis. Her brand of faith is casual in that she rarely prays, but strong in that the ideas are an ideal she strives for.
    • Taionia's strong will naturally gets her into trouble, and her all-in attitude when she makes a decision has gotten her or others hurt more than once.
    • She's also emotionally labile, and while mood swings happen at logical times, they are very dramatic, and very, very swingy.
    • For a Hyliel, she has a very violent temper. She's also highly competitive, and will demand rematches even when she's clearly lost.
    • When she feels safe, Tai likes to sing. She only does so if she believes she is alone, or she feels very comfortable around those she knows can hear. She sings things from lullabies, to shanties, to folk music, and has a surprisingly melodic voice for someone who otherwise sounds crass.
    • She plays with her hair and wriggles her feet when nervous. She also frequently chews on her lip or the inside of her cheek.
    • Her Eruinin accent is a defensive mechanism drilled into her by her father. While not well spoken by any means, the accent can slip away, and it usually does when she does not feel threatened by someone present. Her natural accent is a drawly Daendroquin one, flecked with dots of Alt-Regalisch.
    • Taionia is a very good cook, practiced in handling wild meat, and common ingredients like potatoes, cheese, and vegetables. This isn't actual training moreso as it is things she picked up from trial and error. She enjoys cooking with lots of herbs whenever she gets the chance.
    • She knows how to hunt quite well. This includes tracking, dismantling game, and even the fletching of her own arrows.

    Life Story, Pre-RP

    Taionia Seshe Kerrien was born on August 30th, 289 AC to a Cielothar mother named Llenaywn, and an Ériunin father named Iarlaith on the outskirts of Daenshore. She was loved by her mother, but coveted by her father. A fight broke out over this, and the father left her mother and the baby to fend for themselves. Her mother chose to re-integrate with the Cielothar village she came from, and raise Taionia as one of her own kind.

    In this village, she would live a fairly ordinary life as a Nelfin child. Her mother was good to her, if a bit protective. This smothering instilled in the child a want to escape and spend time out of home whenever possible, not because she didn't love her mother, but because she felt overwhelmed by her attention. Her habit of running off lead to an early life full of adventure, and birthed a wanderlust in the girl.

    When her 15th birthday came, the time had come for her to undergo the Trial of Estel. The problem was that she had never truly bonded with a single familiar up until that point, and thus her mediation was focus-less and she failed the trial.

    Ashamed from her failure, she ran off to Daenshore, where her father found her. At first, he was welcoming, and seemed to want to reconnect with his estranged daughter, spoiling her rotten. But then the Bone Horror crisis began, and Iarlaith turned to the bottle. He became horribly abusive, and Tai had no choice but to stay within the city walls, or else be torn to shreds by animate bones. Her mother had fled by then, and returning home was not an option. So she dealt with it.

    During this time in Daenshore, Tai transformed her impish, prankster nature into practical thievery. She spent many a day in prison or in the stockades, but she welcomed it, wanting to get away from her father by any means. She still craved freedom however, and worked on not getting caught. These skills were honed over the course of 1 1/2 years.

    During this time of theft, Tai was infected with vampirism, and the warping of her mind by the Void gave her the push she needed to truly free herself from her cage. She attacked Iarlaith during one of his drunken stupors, and he became her first feeding. She did not stop there however, and brutally murdered him during the fact. She would remain a vampire for a year, still committing her thefts, before she was caught, and forced under pain of death to be cured. Once cured, she began serving a many year-long sentence, from which she escaped after only a few months.

    She boarded a ship destined for Regalia, as she was a convict in Daen and nothing was left for her to salvage. She arrived in early 306, but she had no skills that were applicable to legal life. She never learned how to be a functioning member of society, and as such, she eventually turned to her old ways, heading off into the forests and joining a group of bandits.

    She was a footpad for 3 years, but one night grew tired of her treatment, and decided to get revenge by robbing her group blind, and fleeing into the city proper. She took refuge in New Crookback, and to this day is paranoid of retaliation for what she did.
