❮CURAE I - Appointment to Holy Office❯


Upon the day November 21st, 306 AC the Reverends from all corners of the Archipelago answered the call to gather within the hallowed halls of the Conclave in order to elect a new Reverend to the Pontifical office. This first among equals will serve the Synod and the faithful as a representative of the Sancella, and a personification of moral purity, to be exceeded only by the Holy Spirit and the Crown.


The Reverend Aelfric Harhold was selected with a Synodical mandate, taking on the pontifical name "Manfried II" in honor of Manfried the Pious, the Heron of Priests, granting insight into the current High Reverend's agenda. The Venerable Reverend ran upon a clear mandate and set of objectives in which the Synod should achieve.

1. To restore the image of the Church within the eyes of the people and Nobility.
   
   
2. To improve the Synod from within, allowing for a return to the pious, powerful, and guiding hand the Holy Synod once was.
   
   
3. Furthering charitable efforts.
   
   
4. Furthering the efforts to do "street preaching" more often.
   
   
5. Room for further goals as time moves on.

With a new High Reverend comes a new Synodical cabinet. Therefore the High Reverend has placed Reverends in the positions as follows.

• The Hallowed Honour of The Episcopal See of the Guiding Eye.
  • His Most Holiness would deem to appoint empty to The Honour of The Episcopal See of the Guiding Eye, with his guidance, blessing, and everlasting support.
    
    
  • The See is tasked henceforth to continue the former Ministerial Work of the Guiding Eye, in presenting forth Unionism to nations far off, and to the lost within the home.
    
    
  • All holy missions and the missionaries therein are to answer to The Episcopal See of the Guiding Eye.
    
    
  • The See is tasked with the recruitment of Laymen for said foreign ventures and missions.
    
    
  • The See is tasked with the reclamation of Holy Relics.

• The Hallowed Honour of The Episcopal See of the Hand of War.
  • His Most Holiness would deem to leave His Holiness Jakob Ludevar The Honour of The Episcopal See of the Hand of War, with the intention to watch closely his brothers and who could steer this Honour away from the unuse it has had the past months.
    
    
  • The See is tasked henceforth with the overseeing of Sancella marshal assets, including but not limited to: The Helerian Guardforce, Blade Sisters and the bulk Synodical Holy Army.
    
    
  • The See shall oversee the security of the collective Synod, and establish an active Helerian presence to aid in this.
    
    
  • The See shall designate sights of military importance for The Sancella in its foreign crusades.

• The Hallowed Honour of The Episcopal See of Tithes and Almnes.
  • His Most Holiness would deem to leave empty The Honour of The Episcopal See of Tithes and Almnes, with the intention to watch closely his brothers and who could steer this Honour away from the unuse it has had the past months.
    
    
  • The See is tasked henceforth to work in ensuring Synodical Tithes and Almnes collected reach their proper usage and that Tithes are paid by noble families.

Alongside this, High Reverend Manfried appoints Reverends to the following honourary positions alongside their ceremonial functions.

• Droit a droite
  • Assigned by His Most Holiness' will to Johan Rote.
• Droit a gauche
  • Assigned by His Most Holiness' Will to Jakob Ludevar.
• The Curate to the Imperial Family.
  • By virtue of his piety, Aethelred Howlester.

The fine shing of a custom steel blade was heard as the familiar knight slipped the fine weapon into its sheath to rest. He tugged on his chest plate in order to assure it was properly fastened before he nodded to the attendant to leave, turning to focus upon the more recent news that was delivered to him. He dropped the paper to a nearby table, "One chance, good father. The Empire will not take kindly should yet another fail." The paladin rolled his neck and shoulders before moving to depart, destination a mystery yet again.

Cael read over the paper briefly, "Dropping like flies." he commented, leaning back in his seat at the Falcon.

"And so the burden falls unto you, brother Manifred. May you prove more capable of shouldering it's weight than your predecessors." One Reverend duly remarked as he approvingly scanned the bull.

The young Harhold clapped her hands together joyously, a broad grin stretching from ear to ear as she revelled in the news of her dear uncles appointment.

"Oh, finally! Uncle is such a hardworking, dedicated, and caring, man. He's deserved this appointment for a long time. I'm so thankful that his brothers see what I see in him."

Enthusiastically tossing the notice to the side, she jolted from her seat and immediatley dashed off to find the man himself.
