Now that they have relaised the new ''Magic System'' I was wondering if there is a smal possibility which could make the ''Magic and Aura'' more realistic in the game with putting in a command /aura and you would be able to control your Aura strenght and color like this /aura off/on (flip) and to choose the color you would do /aura <color>. So that it makes the Role play more real and better lighting up your charachter body in the game with the color you have on your aura. It would make everything easier to express yourself even better and more.

So just once more the following commands would be...

  • /aura on/off (or maybe even put in a strenght scale from 1-10 which would be more visible depends on the strenght.)
  • /aura <color>
  • /aura strenght 5 (just in case you liked the strenght idea.)

Magic is not yet getting implemented in any form to the actual server. This includes the use of commands to define a characters aura or anything related to it. When we are working on a magic system, something like this could happen but we will evaluate the ideas through fully at that time. Not now.

I'll leave it open for further input, but think about your suggestions to the topic thoughtfully before you post them.

Ok sorry :3 and Thank you.

Nice idea even if it isn't getting implemented any time soon.
An option on whether you would want to see another's aura would be good for those who don't like the idea. As well as being able to toggle if you personally have an aura.
Eg./Aura view
And as a visual style I think coloured flame particles hovering around the player would be better that a block colour surrounding them.[DOUBLEPOST=1368303936,1368303698][/DOUBLEPOST]Side note: To minimise lag both server and client side I think if enabled people would view auras on a chunk by chunk basis view distance.
An example would be auras would only be visible for players in a 4x4 chunk area

Probably only viewable in the chunk you are in and all connected chunks (including diagonally) would be better so it was even. 4x4 would be kinda lopsided. Then again they may just add it like a potion effect and then it would be viewable the same distance away potion effects are viewable.

Hmm. Although they are adding ingame auras, this can be bad. Imagine a little nublet who has just joined Massivecraft. He wants to be the greatest hero, and goes and makes himself OP. Usually, people just won't RP with him, as he isn't actually that over powered, he just says he is. But now he can go /aura strength 10 which is the max. Now he not only says he is the best, his aura says he has very powerful magic. Do you get what I'm saying?

Although this is a good idea I would still say the commands you have written are enabled for all players to change. Aura can be used as strength, force field or a talent.

Aura should be used in battle to bring out inner being personality. The aura is meant to be awakened not summoned. Lets say I was in a concealed off room using magic. My aura would then awaken to help aid me in this practice of magic. Aura also could only be awakened when one is fighting, using magic. Awakening an aura is a ritual. Only elves can awaken ones aura colours. Aura colours are not chosen by someone.

You need to read the new lore... anyone can awaken others now. Aura colours are chosen, to an extent. If they are caring, their aura colour will be different than someone who isn't. So if you are caring, then you are not, your aura changes.

Yes I aggree, that would be the neck side of using the command, but it could possibly done that way that you need
To somehow maybe fill it up. If the player does /aura strength 10 his power bar/food bar ( unless they put in a mana bar in the server ) he would decrease faster. Almost like bloodlost when you are a vampire. But once again
How should it be filled up? Should the player wait an X number of time until it gets regenerated? Or will he need to eat a special potion ( depends on what race you have, It could be different potions for different races).

Maybe the longer you play it could be brighter and/or rendered from further away, so if a noob joins he will have level 0 brightness but after, say, one month he can ask an admin to turn his aura to a certain colour (Maybe decided by hexidecimal code for a wide range of colours). Every month or two, as the noob learns more skills and gets used to the commands and, in turn, becomes a better player, his aura could be increased by 1 level to reflect his gain in skill. Maybe there could be an /aura colour command with the hexidecimal system and your aura is affected by level. I'd prefer the second method, due to ease for admins and things.
