This addition may confuse and complicate things, but I think it might be cool.
A faction could manage their own ranking system, meaning they could add more ranks, remove them, rename them, or create a different prefix for that rank.
For example, factions now have 4 ranks, recruit, member, officer, and leader.
But maybe you want a more RP feeling, so you could change leader to emperor, and then make the prefix some other symbol, rather than **
For people to better know the ranking system of other factions, it could be inputted in the /f f command and would show something like:
Rank System: [best rank] : [prefix], [2nd rank] : [prefix], [3rd rank] : [prefix], etc
EX: Emperor: @, Prince: *, knight: ^, civilian:=, slave:
With this system, there could be come confusion, so a limit of 10 ranks?
Or you could make the top 2 ranks universal for each faction, to be leader, then officer, then your custom ranks.
This may also make the /f perm system confusing, so to add this in, you could have in-faction perms separate from other faction perms.
So it would be /f perm r for the in faction ranks, and maybe /f perm o for the other ranks.
More ideas for /f perm is to add ability to chat in faction chat and/or alliance chat, like a factions way to mute members. A use could be a criminal rank, a member who has disapointed the leader, and their punishment would be to not talk in faction chat.
Chat stuff:
This stuff may be really complicated for players to understand, but maybe be able to make your own chat channels for different ranks that may include or exclude single or multiple ranks.
like /f channel,c create,c [name] [ranksincluded,all] -[ranks excluded]
This can also apply to truced factions, or other outside factions/players that you may want to have a conversation with. For this to work, you could invite people/factions to a private chat channel, or set up a password for your channel.
So maybe /f channel,c edit,e [channel name] setpassword,sp [password]
/f channel,c talk,t [channel name] [password]
Or if you are the owner? /f channel,c [channel name] invite,i faction,f/player p [name]
If there are any complications or conflicts within this system that I left out, I could explain a compromise in detail. I believe that this could be really awesome in Massivecraft.[DOUBLEPOST=1368485952,1368398970][/DOUBLEPOST]and there could also be a perm to be able to make chats within factions
