The letter was written in Common, but on Elven parchment, and in a distinctly Elven hand: the script was slightly more flowery than Ailoran standard, and made liberal use of serifs to give letters additional contrast. It was rather neat, and reminded the reader faintly of typed text, but with the little imperfections that confirmed it was handwritten.

With the return of Ithanians to the city at large comes a refreshing breath of their fine taste and exquisite skill at assembling social gatherings both large and small. As a ruler, I do not often find time to set aside my duties and participate in clubs and salons, but there is an appealing quality to the format you have presented which lures me in and promises my interest. I have not had an opportunity to commune in such fashion for many years now, and through my long life affords me the luxury of withdrawing from a social disposition every now and then, the Society's existence has indeed convinced me to emerge once again.
