Character Information Full Name: Sivrid Sorenvik Race: Ailor (Velheim) Age: 27 Gender: F Eye Color: Green Core Concept Sivrid is a devout Valsung of the Old Gods faith. She finds immense joy in simple pleasures, like joking and homely comforts. She values duty very highly, be it to her spouses, her people, or her Gods, and enjoys spending long grueling hours in meditation, ritualism, and study, or honing her physical crafts like weaving and alchemy. Whether in the light of the sun or the darkness of the Helbolwen, Sivrid has a smile and a joke on her lips. Languages Common (Free) Skodje (Native Language) Talents (Proficiencies) This is a primarily non-combatant character, so in lieu of a point spread, here are the relevant skills she has, and I've shown her point investment in the spoiler below.Alchemy: Sivrid is an herbalist, who believes that 'alchemy' is the work of the Old Gods whose influence shapes the world. She is capable of non-combat alchemical feats such as brewing potions and various party tricks. Healing: Siv can heal both with mundane techniques and alchemy, and with holy rituals. She reserves holy healing for other Old Gods followers, however. Ritualism: Synna and Valsung, Siv is happy to perform religious duties for Pagans. She uses God Magic to empower rituals, which appears in the form of minor elementalism and light displays. She is Sammun (prays to both the Aesir and Vanir). Godsamtro: Sivrid's knowledge of technology starts and ends with 'if I pray hard enough, this works'. She can replace limbs and craft some Godsamtro, but uses it sparingly, and sees it as a favor of the Gods, which requires much devotion to be worthy of. IE, she won't replace an arm unless that arm is vowed to the service of the Gods. Politics: Siv has spent some time as a politician, and will happily collaborate on causes that align with her views. She holds some esteem with specific Princes, and her support come from the clergy of Drixagh. She is the Countess of Irvainvik. Art: Sivrid is a master weaver, and can weave tapestries and clothing. She can also make tattoos for other pagans, using ritualism. She has iconography of the Union of Fire on her arms. She has a sequence of chains down her outer thigh. Behind her neck is an infinity symbol, made of chains, bordered by crow feathers. She has the triptych in devotion to Bev, a rune on the back of each hand and one on the chest, in the names of Compassion, Empathy, and Forgiveness, which she holds as tenants of the Valsung. Sivrid is 5’4”, and has striking orange-red hair which she wears in a multitude of ways, and green eyes. Her tattoos are a pale teal color, and she almost always wears religious iconography painted on her face. She is not slender, instead having a sturdy frame, and layers of traditionalist Velheim clothing, as well as beads and jewelry made of natural materials like coral, bone, wood, and silver. Life Story Sivrid was the seventh of ten children, born to her two mothers and father in Drixagh, at their farm which focused on raising sheep for wool and weaving textiles. Sivrid’s rite of passage was to study with the crones in the Husgardet, a house of healing the sick and comforting the dying. She learned alchemy among the crones, though considered the abilities to be blessings, and all of her alchemy is steeped in religious belief. She enjoyed skirt-chasing and sports as a teen, with little care for her own future, and was close with her kind and supportive family. Five of Sivrid’s brothers were killed in the Burning of the North, while Calemberger forces attacked Skagger lodges. Her family then struggled financially, which caused her to move to Regalia in search of economic opportunities. Spoiler: Post-Regalia Arrival [*]During her time in Regalia, Sivrid married Viggo Kensley, being beside him as they managed a bar, and formed a militia to drive gangs out of Old Town. After being infected with vampirism, the pair put their lives back together and eventually earned ennoblement. They then married Kaya Sorenvik, and Sivrid founded the Alms Ministry. [*]Following a fever-dream in which Sivrid was haunted by the spirit of her lost brother, she oathed herself to the duties of the Valsung. Sivrid was voted in as Jovrlov among the Velheim of the city, and focused much of her attention on the preservation and discovery of ancient Velheim history. Fascinated with theology, Sivrid continued to study history and the arcane, in the hopes of someday seeing Velheimers among the Imperial Court of Scholars. [*]In keeping with her goals, Sivrid attended the Imperial Regalian Archeology Academy, as well as the Regalian Statesman Academy. [*]Reinvigorated with holy purpose, Sivrid devotes her time now exclusively to service of the gods, and the faithful of the city, as Valsung and Synna. Plot Hooks Sivrid is always willing to guide other pagans along a spiritual path, even preferring this supportive role to any direct ambitions of her own. She will happily cast bones and read runes for other pagans, offer advice, or even answer questions of those just curious about the Old Gods. She is happy to assist with services regarding the Gods, like weddings, funerals, and rituals, or just to talk someone through their religious philosophies, and find comfort in faith. Siv was born a peasant, who rose to nobility, and was an active politician for some time. She is happy to talk to others who are interested in a political career, whose goals align with her own. She puts the goals of religious freedom and care for the populace above most else. She is loyal to Emperor Alexander, and to Drixagh. Siv enjoys parties and sports, games, and arts and culture. She enjoys events centered around celebrating the cultures of the empire, and learning from others.
@Carlit0o Updated to suit the new Vampire lore. Capped body proficiency, added cooking proficiency, regained the previous edited out 10 proficiency points that it used to cost to have vamp mutations, repicked mutations.
@Carlit0o Big changes. Updated things with the new systems, removed her sanguine curse, added medical science as a larger part of her skillset, messed with a lot of her personality questions to reflect the effect of sanguinism and who she is as a person now as opposed to when she began.
@HydraLana big boye updates all over the place. Added spec perm, updated proficiencies, changed lineage, updated personality and backstory.
https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Proficiency#Racial_Boosts - "As long as a Character has invested 10 Proficiency Points into their boosted Proficiency (5, if it is a Talent Proficiency), they can add 5 more for free." Please correct your Proficiency assignments and tag me once you're done. Please also make sure that the Physical Stat is calculated appropriately given any Proficiency changes.
@HydraLana With the updates to medical sciences capped at 10 I reshuffled my points and highlighted changes in red. Removed fist and knife combat to add more to axe, and invested what remained into languages.
Re-Approved, though I recommend maybe adding a point or two about your character's recent history in the city once these Vampire events come to an end, to give a complete picture.
@HydraLana Updated to the new form, added Talents, and shifted points around (notably, no longer a curer and medic, more prepared for scholarly progs and faith stuff)
@Yurs I swapped her three medical points for 3 alchemy, and added a free language because of the ailor 'specials' update.
@Yurs Updated to current standard. Links are for my own convenience so I don't have to prowl the wiki to remember the abilities
@HydraLana Tagging the most recent lore staff who is still active! Not much updated, but brought up to date with current proficiencies/languages/abilities.
