As an avid PvPer, I have made quite a few War Declarations here on Massive. I just was pondering some simple improvements that could possibly be implemented into making the creation of War Declarations more efficient (at least in my eyes).

1. Instead of putting a date, the War Declaration will simply use the time/date when staff approve it.
2. Instead of listing out the members in your and your enemies' faction, just have the player put in a number, saving a lot of time from either having to upload screenshots or type every name out by hand. Using this you may also be able to implement something that tells both the attacking faction and defending faction what Max Tribute is (Although it's not hard to multiply the number of faction members by 50, just an idea).
3. Automatically have in the surrender terms box "Max Tribute" and make it un-editable, so by default every War Declaration will already have that as an option listed for the defending faction. This could also have in parenthesis the amount of regals needed to pay Max Tribute (if the latter part of the 2nd idea was implemented).

Hopefully these could be implemented if the staff have time, and it doesn't have any negative effects on the current system besides making it more efficient (as it works extremely well already). Please take these ideas and provide them some feedback if you have the time.

Thanks,
-Ben

The reason this exist is to have proof of who is in what faction at the time of the declaration, so if say, Faction A surrendered to Faction B, but a few members in faction B still wanted to continue the war and hopped to another faction to continue fighting, the staff would have a list of who was in Faction A (the declaring faction and the winning faction in this example) so they know if it is indeed a faction hop or not to abuse the rules, and can issue punishment.

Everything else looks good. Just wanted to point out that right there, and as to why it exist.

Sounds reasonable, but can't you basically do the same thing by lying about having more / less members in your faction simply by adding more usernames? Just a thought.

I agree with Ben 100% because I know how frustrating it is to do war decs when you have to take a screenshot of your faction and enemy faction. Good Idea!!

In all honesty, the way war declarations currently work may seem like its a strain on those writing them, but from a staff point of view, it helps us far greater than just numbers to monitor each war for signs of foul play in terms of member abuse as well as singular players that may hop to another faction to raid the same faction again. I know that we all want short cuts to get back into game time but we do need to monitor for signs of faction abuse by using these screenshots. The simplest way I can suggest to making it easier is by using a program such as Gyazo to "cut" the segment of your screen that has the faction members/enemy members in it and it will auto upload it to your Gyazo account. You can then just paste the link into the war declaration.

On another note, Max tribute is always an option in raids and wars.

As for the first point, I fail to see the difference it would make. Perhaps you would like to elaborate more on that point? @BenRekt

Would it be possible to reference the server database to pull the faction information automatically? That could also be used to prevent declarations against protected factions from the one month time frame.

The first suggestion is just getting rid of the "Date" input boxes and instead use the time when a staff approves the war as the actual start of the war. It wouldn't save too much time but I think it makes it more efficient because there would be less data to enter.
