When did the battle start? Well... I suppose thats a bit of a trick question.
One could say that it started when half the slum was merrily drinking away at a party hosted by the Telikos Beggars. Their was booze, and games, and more booze. Of course it didn't much last. Soon a large force lead by Edward Jarsdel had gathered at the event and stormed the party.
I didn't get a single sip of that blasted ale.
Half the people climbed up into an old storage room whilst the others stayed on the ground, trying to either run from or fight the hounds. Jochund, leader of the beggers, and self proclaimed king, was captured.
After a while me and the others climbed out from that dingy attic, and the beggars tried to stop them from dragging their leader off. But a tad bit of Obscura put an end to their efforts.
You COULD say that the battle started at that party, but id hardly say thats true. No, it started when I climbed up to the window of the Rat Court afterwards to see that poor sod's "trial".
Whilst I was looking in on it some ugly chick in armor came up to me and offered me a tenpiece to chuck a bottle of Obscura into the court in an attempt to get Jochund free. Eh... guess I dont have the best throwing arm cause I completely missed. If I had to guess I only sped up Jochund's death.
So I come down from that window while all these cunts are saying they are going to split my head, y'know looking for my tenpiece. But this hedge knight has gone and run off somewhere.
I find her at the tavern, rallying the remains of the beggars and some random peasants with promises of fame and riches if they got Jochund free. Im a bit of a sucker for people standing on tables and giving speechs, Amar Tellsman was also good at that, so I said id join.
There was about ten of us, that one guy... uh... Parrot? He was leading the charge.
We eventually reached the Rat Court and they nearly pissed themselves seeing this angry mob. The two on guard went back into the court to rally their bannermen.
Somebody whips out some molotovs, and since I have such I good relationship with fire I decided to be the first to chuck one in. Were all tossing fire and soon enough the whole Rat Court is aflame. They started shooting arrows at us and tossing obscura, this went on for near an hour.
I guess our plan was to save Jochund by burning him alive. Well, that was our plan but it turns out they had already chopped his head off.
We were just about to raise this small bridge to cover the entrance to trap them in when some wanker hits me with a fire ball, blasted mages. I fell into some water and I guess everyone just dropped the bridge without my big muscles helping them.
When I climbed back out the enemy force had all started to flee the Rat Court, and the siege was over.
So, I guess that means the Ravens rule the slums now. It wont last, not long.
