So, I have thought for some time about this, so here it goes. I think that we should have movable ships. I know that they would cause a TON of lag, but this could be possible after sharding is complete. I was thinking something like the Zepplin plugin, but they only work if it is in the water. This would add to roleplay alot, because with this, you could bring a trade ship to popular areas or events and make money! Or, you could bring a warship to a battle and fire cannons at your enemies! You could also take a romantic cruise around the ocean, and win over the love of your life!
Ships would only work if you had a big enough sail, enough of it underwater so that it wouldnt tip over, and with the weight distributed enough that it wouldnt become front, back, or top heavy. Also, the more sails on it, the faster it would go (since with more sails wind will push them more).
There would be only 1 captian for the boat, so only they could sail it. BUT, a player can only have 1 ship. Players can also buy and sell ships, so that shipwrights could make money for building something useable.
Ships on claimed land can only be edited by players in the faction, but on the open sea, it is vunerable to anyone that happens to spot it. It would also add "pirates" into the roleplay community, and pirates loot and try to capture ships who happen to cross their path.
If a ship is unowned, it is able to be stolen, if it is in the wilderness.
Ships could also be taken over, if they kill captain, and if they dont own a ship of their own. It could be done like this:
Pirate boards a ship and kills the captain. Within 5 seconds of the captains death, the pirate could run the command /s capture or /s steal. The pirate then owns the ship, and is the captain of the ship.if the former captain gets to the boat, they can kill the pirate and run the same command, and they are then captain of the ship again.
Another thing, is that cannons could possibly cause damage to the ship, by blowing a hole in the side, so that raiders can get on the ship. If there are enough holes in the ship, it will sink to the bottom of the ocean, with no way of getting it back.
So, there is my suggestion for the boat plugin, feel free to say if its good, bad, or if something should be changed. Have a massive day!
