Saelan tries to not express his emotions if people he does not know are around, because he thinks that his feelings are a weak point other people can exploit. He can however open up and show his Happiness, if it is to someone he deeply trusts. How would your character respond to experiencing Fear? Saelan has learned that if he feared something, you should fight it. He would probably become hostile and perhaps even violent toward whatever scares him, also trying to not look intimidated. How would your character respond to experiencing Stress? Saelan would likely remain calm on the outside, but fight with himself not to show his stress on the inside, which causes him to become rather incautious and distracted. He would likely try to calm down by getting some rest or going for a hunt. How does your character view Law and Authorities? Saelan views Law and Authorities as annoying. He does not like to be limited by laws or principles of any kind, and because of that, also dislikes the people who enforce those laws. How does your character feel about Races other than their own? Saelan does not really have a strong feeling towards races. However, he mistrusts most Ailor at first, due to him having encountered multiple Ailor that were extremely hostile towards him. How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths? Saelan does not really like the concept of Religion. He views it as nonsense and thinks that binding yourself to ideals and morals weakens you and restricts your real self. How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world? Saelan has no problem with Magic and all things magical, considering his powers. He rather sees it as something normal, and something that is just a part of this world. How does your character feel towards their family? Saelan never really had a family. He grew up with a pack of other Skinwalkers, to which he did not really have a relationship that would resemble a family. However, he had a close relationship to his mentor, who he saw as something of a father-figure. What is your character the most proud of about themselves? Saelan is rather proud of his skills with the Sword. Would someone he considers trustworthy ask Saelan to teach him some of his Sword skills, he would never refuse, and although not really smiling or showing it physically, he'd be noticeably happy teaching them, as he sees it as a form of appreciation for his skills. What motivates your character to move forward and better their life? Saelan wants to avenge his mentor, by fighting the enemies of Werebeasts and protecting Werebeats in need of help. What is your character's biggest insecurity? Saelan doesn't really think about how other people view him, but he is insecure about showing people he likes and trusts his more emotional side. What is your character's biggest fear? Saelan’s biggest intangible fear is being captured or restricted by other people. He values his own freedom over everything else. His biggest tangible fear are Werebeast Hunters, due to him witnessing his Mentor getting killed by a group of them. Life Story Childhood (Age 0-12) In October of 268 A.C., a child was born to a young Cielothar woman in the south of Daen. When the time came for the woman's village to give a child to the Silver Skinwalkers, she was demanded to provide her son, due to no other child being born before the Solstice. After inital refusal, the woman gave in, and the child was brought as a tribute for the Skinwalkers. When the Skinwalkers came to get the boy, they noticed a small note placed next to it, "Saelan Maerith" being written on it, the supposed name of the child. Saelan grew up amongst other Skinwalkers in the woods of Daen. They weren't really like a family to him, he saw most of them as mentors of sort. However, one particular other Skinwalker sparked his interest. He appeared to be among the older members of their group and carried a Longsword. Saelan was fascinated by him and regularly watched him hunt and train. Teenage Years (Age 13-19) Saelan demanded to be trained by the Swordsman, wanting to learn all the skills he needed. The Skinwalker, rather reluctantly, agreed to train the boy. The boy generally seemed really lively and happy, especially around his mentor. As they spent more time together, they grew closer together. Saelan viewed him as something of a father he never had. When it came to developing skills, Saelan was really talented with the sword, learning things quickly and improving his techniques from time to time. What troubled him was learning how to cook, basic sewing and other tasks he had to learn to be able to sustain himself in the wild, though he slowly got the hang of those tasks too. Adulthood (Age 20-35) Eventually, one night the group Sealan was part of got attacked by Werebeast Hunters. Saelan suddenly woke up. One of the hunters stood infront of him, his sword pointing towards the Skinwalkers throat. Saelan froze, sweat running down from his face. He could not move, as his fear took control of him. The Hunter took a big swing, preparing to cut Sealan's head off. Before Saelan got the chance to act though, his mentor blocked the Hunters sword and finished him off. As the two were the last ones that survived, they fled from the battle. Deeming the area as too dangerous to stay, they started travelling the lands of Daen, eventually setting their camp somewhere in the East of the jungles of Teled Methen. Recent Years (Age 36-40) With the years passing, Saelan's skills with the sword were eventually on par with those of his mentor. The two lived more or less in peace. One day, while Saelan was hunting, he heard a noise coming from the bushes behind him. An Ailor in his early 20s, was waving towards him. The Ailor offered to help with the hunting, which Saelan agreed to. The two seemed to get along rather well, talking to each other and sharing stories. In the evening, Saelan went back to his home, where his mentor was already waiting for him. The same night however, Saelan woke up to the sound of swords clashing and screaming. The Ailor, who apparently hunted abberants, had followed him to find out where he lived, and then brought two other men, all of them armed. Saelan quickly grabbed his sword and rushed to aid his fellow Skinwalker, who was already fighting the three men, slowly getting overwhelmed. As Saelan stepped into the battle, one of the men the Ailor brought turned his attention towards him, while his mentor had to fight the other two. Saelan was able to overwhelm the man with his sword skills, striking him down. The Ailor Saelan had originally trusted let go of the other Skinwalker and rushed towards him. He was far more skilled than the other two, throwing wild jabs at Saelan, which he was barely able to block. Saelan's mentor, now only having to deal with one opponent, took him down with a few precise strikes. As the Ailor saw this, he kicked Saelan in the stomach, throwing him to the ground. The man pulled out a Quarter Puretek and aimed at Saelan. The fear took control of Saelan again, making him just lay there, a terrified expression in his face. The other Skinwalker, noticing this, sprinted towards the Ailor, only to see how the Ailor changed his target and a Silvershot traveled directly into his direction, through his heart. Witnessing this, Saelan's fear transformed into rage. The next second, his sword pierced the Ailor's chest. Saelan changed. The happy, outgoing and enthusiastic boy had become mistrusting, reserved and emotionless on the outside, and scared and alone on the inside. With his mentor dead, he had nothing left and no reason to stay. He wanted to protect other Werebeasts from having to suffer the same fate that his mentor and his group had. The only thing he took with him were his sword and his mentor's old necklace, which should remind him of his past. During his travels, his instinct eventually lead him to the city of Regalia.
Hi! I'll be claiming this app. One comment to make, - Puretek isn't a widespread technology. Consider altering that part of your backstory. Also, there aren't really Ailor in eastern Teled Methen. That's where all the Altalar are. You'd have to go a bit more north. But because that's just a suggestion, your premise is otherwise approved.
