Why aren't we able to 'ride' our pets?

I understand that it might not be possible to ride villager or mob pets, but why can't we ride our horses? There's actually a lot of practical value in being able to magic up a horse and then mount it for transport, however that currently isn't possible and I'd like that to change.

Thanks

It'd be against the EULA, because premiums would have an advantage to spawn a horse wherever. So, if you would like to ride a horse you'd have to go tame one.

So what? There is absolutely no advantage to it. A premium might still have a block on his head, and it gives no advantage, so it's EULA compliant.
Yeah, that's for style. Premiums can spawn Undead Horses and that just looks cool.

Yet, if you can poof in a horse to follow you around. Awesome, no advantage. Spawn up a horse /and/ ride it? Still against the EULA.

But if you've got a debuff slow enough to make riding the pet horse the same speed as not riding the horse, then it's purely cosmetic, and doesn't brake the EULA. Just like how blocks on your head are cosmetic.

it would make sence aswell, Regalia is suposed to be very crowded so i don't think that you would go much faster on a horse then on foot in rp becouse to much people would walk in your way to go much faster

Including that, you'd have to be very, very rich to have your own horse brought to Regalia. [I think.]
Perhaps, if it's abused, it could be a noble only feature?

I feel like allowing certain people to ride horses at a certain speed, although adding flair to roleplay, would just be a headache for the staff members... These are all great suggestions, though :) I would be ecstatic to see these ideas implemented, but I don't know how much of this is possible to do (I'm painfully oblivious when it comes to programming and whatnot)... ; ^;
