We all know this can be handy to send to people if they happen to actually be bad at RP/go against lore/sport poor RP qualities, that's it's purpose and only purpose. But people are abusing this single little rating. It really is the only rating people abuse, setting it on things even if they perfectly relate to topic, mainly for "chitz n' giglz". This here is a good example... Read all the pink clouds tossed around here. Although this little thing is actually a rating, this is the only rating that seems to be abused. If you check some member profiles, they almost literally only give pink clouds, or it is a majority of their ratings. Let alone, I don't want to be spammed by 17 alerts a day with a Pink cloud in the entire list, and the only alert that was serious is buried somewhere in the alerts. Your thoughts? MonMarty if you could toss your own thoughts in this as well, this would be helpful. EDIT: If you really think it must stay, why not move it so you can only use it on the RP section of the Forums? This helps prevent bothersome abuse with this option.
You appear to have not read a single detail of this. This little thread here and above is living proof of people abusing it.
C'MON PLEASE, people are just throwing out the same rating for the sake of doing so. Because of this, about 11 of my 14 pink clouds are actually just that. I really am not gonna joke with something making me look like a bad roleplayer or forums Spammer.
In all serious this is kinda abused but there is also fun for it in other threads. What does the Pink Cloud mean? This is just a thread that's meant to be serious been fun, I got a few laughs out of that.
You focus on the negative aspects of the Pink Cloud, but what of the positive? It's a message to people who have made a bad RP and they can change it, simple. "Oh no! I'm sick of people rating my posts with a pink cloud but I had a good post" That's your opinion, other people have other opinions. Would you want to live in a type of conformity that everyone has to have your opinion? People have a right to say what they want, and they are entitled to their own opinion. Just because you do not agree with their opinion doesn't mean you can say it's their fault for such a silly rating. It means nothing in the real world, if it affects you so much don't involve yourself in activities that hurt you, simple enough. Stop complaining.
Skull_man because apparently I need to increase the good in how I roleplay when I create a thread saying I was leaving the server, when I was talking to someone about their rp character on their intro, and when I was giving someone positive feedback on their drawings. I would appreciate if you were in our viewing right now.
This is really why. If people weren't spamming others with Pink Cloud so much, I wouldn't care, but it's still bothersome for them to say I'm poorly RPing when I am out of character, having a normal conversation and all. I could adjust and say that they can use Pink Cloud on only RP sections, that would be much more helpful.
Skull_man You did not read. Re-read what I said at the bottom, and check the edit I just made for the original message at the top.
Skull_man I really don't think you read mine hard enough. If I was in actual RP and I got it, I would think "now how can I make this better to prevent getting this rating" When I was giving someone positive feedback on their painting... "Wow! That looks pretty good, hope to see more!" -pink cloud- Now what? Have a rating on my profile saying I need to improve roleplay. *a while back, I was leaving the server, or at least planning to do so, some nice players encouraged me to stay* "Hey guys, I'm leaving, Gaea Hadar" -pink cloud- o-o
@Tocixlord William Chron Hsh... No need to put your troubles on me. Hsh... I am tired and you are waking me with your insolence.
Skull, you're a classic case why I agree with William Chron, you're commonly using this rating as a abuse, as either trolling or being a smart ass. Though you're not the only one. Besides that the pink cloud as you have stated 'was a measure of RP' but I have NEVER seen it used as such. It's used to show that someone has a idiotic opinion or something completely irrelevant of what it means. Further more, since it's not used properly, it should be removed.
I'm sorry, was this 'your' thread post? No, did you have to read it? Comment? state your opinion? Yes yes, your right, that's a hell of a bearing. Stop talking rubbish just because you want to argue Skull.
What goes around, comes around. Isn't that right. Now, if you wish me out of this stop replying to me.
Skull_man... yea... me and Chron's insolence... By gosh you must be that tired to do exactly what you didn't like us doing.
Dude that rating was made for me and now your trying to destroy it D": (Bursts out crying) how could you :"(
Pink clouds are a rating to give to something that isn't roleplay related or lore compliant and/or should be just generally ignored. An example: A thread goes out to be some sort of mystery! A who killed who thing. Everyone is giving their opinions and what not when someone goes "y not use hetool nubs?"... <-- This would get pink clouds.
Shawzie Everything is a 'real life' term of someone taking drugs, or drugs, or drugs dealers, or places to take drugs, or how too... there is too much slang related to drugs |-(.
*pops head in* I really like the pink cloud. And... to be honest, is abuse of an idle rating system that doesn't dictate anything in-game and hardly dictates anything on the forums... really that big of a deal? Maybe it's just me. But I don't generally look at ratings first when I crawl onto a profile. Furthermore... it's all in good fun. By getting your panties in a knot about a little icon at the bottom of a post from time to time, you're kinda ruining the fun. Staaahp. :C Maybe instead of opting to remove this fun thing that aggravates you, you can just remove yourself and let others have the fun. Juss sayin'. *pops head out again*
Pink clouds. I like them. They are just simple tiny ratings. Does a simple tiny pink cloud bother you? If it does, this is somewhat odd. Out of all the things, you decided to whine about pink clouds. I have no more words.
