"The Law Maker of the Bluesteel Order has agreed with the Divine Regent to apply Canon Law to a limited degree to state law for the continued religious and spiritual protection of our society's moral compass. As such, Canon law is now applied to various state laws to extend the length of the religious institutions to prosecute violations of Holy Law that were previously only applicable through court trials. Furthermore, the Weapons Carry Law has been amended, and all Weapons Permits that were granted by the Violet Order or indeed any other institution save for the Bluesteel Order are declared null and void."

A summary of changes:
  • Canon law now applies to speaking "favorably" of other religions, meaning a person is liable to prosecution by the Canon Law if they speak well of any other religion save for Unionism in public.
  • Canon law now applies to the sanctity of life law, meaning public acts of same-sex intimacy are illegal. Furthermore, same-sex marriage are now no longer legal and will face prosecution, unless the parties involved can declare legal offspring to the state in line with the further progress and growth of the cause of Humanum. This means that as long as both partners in a same-sex couple have legal offspring, they will be tolerated to a degree.
  • Canon law now applies to the Sanctity of Vow law, meaning that any and all forms of adultery, even with the consent of the spouse, are completely illegal and will face prosecution to the extents of
  • Offspring Vow Law is now enacted, which dictates that bearing a child out of wedlock requires the guilty parties to engage in a marriage. If the guilty parties (one or both) are already married, the state will take custody of the child, remove it from its parents, and prosecute the parents for violating Canon and State law of adultery.
  • Canon Law applies to Home Safety Law now, dictating that nobody may be arrested or removed from a religious building as long as they are praying and or fasting. This can only be lifted by the writ of arrest by the Divine Regent, who grants permission to guards to arrest a fugitive or convict who is still on the premise of a religious building.
  • Canon Law applies to the Anti Jacobinism Law also, meaning that anyone who offends Nobility and is of Baronial title and below, is liable to face trial for heresy, as insulting the right of nobility is considered an affront to the Emperor's loaned divine right to the nobility.
  • In all laws, females and males have been granted equal rights in eyes of the law. Custody battles over divorcing children will no longer default to the male right, but simply be granted to the wealthiest partner.
Summary of changes to Weapons Law:
  • All Weapon Permits are revoked unless issued by the Bluesteel Order.
  • Weapon Permits can be requested from the Chapter Commanders and High Constable.
  • Weapon Permits are granted to Imperial Advisers and State Councilmen.
  • Imperial Prerogative is a new category that defines the right to bear military grade weapons and arms to anyone with direct assent by the Emperor. This also extends to the Emperor's siblings and the High Constable.

On a side note, state law changes are never backwards applicable.

Can you define this?

PS isn't the current emperor the one who's banging Percy.

I swear there are too many kades.

Legalized child from either:
  • A previous marriage
  • An extramarital affair that was legalized (which is currently no longer possible due to the Child Vow Law)
  • Adopted and granted full custodial legal rights/incorporated as a full blood family member. (which requires some legal court actions)
As for the Crown Prince:
  • He had a legal son, Renly Kade, who was (supposedly, some people know otherwise) the product of a prostitute.
  • The Marriage between the Crown Prince and Percy Ravenstad is annulled. The Emperor can never be married to a man.
  • That being said, the Crown Prince is keeping the Ravenstad around for "reasons".
  • Obviously Imperial Blood (that is direct blood relatives of the Emperor or Crown Prince) are always above legal prosecution since the law enforcement acts in their name.

Where does this fall under in the punishment scale, I would imagine closer to drunken and disorderly than conspiracy against the state.
probably twice the weight of public indecency in drunken state. It's a bit more complicated because moral corruption of bystanders falls into play also.

Ohohh. I used to have my characters homophobic to try and encourage political conservatism, and that was throughly unpopular IC. Good to know Lawful Evil and Chaotic Good characters have some more ways to pick on the public, not to mention more ways to be terribly scandalous.

I think this means that barons and below who offend higher nobility (I guess count and above?) are able to be put to court for heresy. Which means nothing for Dwight, as he is only a baron, and therefore can't have people trialed for heresy, I guess?

The OP doesn't mentions only high nobles, so if you offend a Baron you could be courted. But Dwight would as well be courted if he insults higher nobles. At least that is how I see it.

Yeah, that sounds about right ^.^ But this means counts and above can't be put to court for insulting other nobles, right?
