'Ello folks.

After some deliberation and a brief conversation with some people in General chat, I've come to the conclusion that what the PvP side of the server needs, is a nice ol' event.

A few ideas I had were:
-The Event being a long one (Roughly 5 hours or more)
-Having different categories (Horseback pvp/teams/ect)
-Held in a custom world for it, custom arena of some kind

I know a bunch of you all have some ideas, so I'd love to hear them. Of course, if this goes ahead it'll take a week or so to prepare and stuff. So have at it, I'd love to hear your ideas!

5v5 horseback, would be good to have all horses the same quality. Mixture of weapons/bows. And perhaps one where all participants have either boom sticks or staffs of exile.

Would this have MCMMO enabled, and would it be custom gear from survival, or kit-based?
Looking good though.

Perhaps either set it so items aren't dropped or so all items must be returned. That would increase the number of participants. Also, maybe a ranking system to balance initial matches by MCmmo level?

Or just have no McMMO so it's completely fair, and have preset classes of gear, like at siege. The entirety of boomsticks sounds fun though. Or have a battle where each player is astride a pig?

Edit: I am slightly intoxicated on alcohol, so if my suggestions are weird, please disregard them

a gladiator free for all

1. Have a completely open tournament with everything allowed (i.e. debuffs, god armor, all potions)
2. Have a tournament with rules similar to the one held by @Imboring56 that has diamond armor/weapons, no enchants, no debuffs, no strength.
3. Have archer fights (plain diamond armor with unenchanted bow)
4. Have a Free For All fight
5. Have 2v2 versions of the above mentioned fights (besides FFA obviously :P)

These are good, I like these ideas.

I'm unsure how difficult and important a ranking system to balance the matches would actually be to code, or if it would be worth coding. I say that losing items would be disabled, as would McMMo I feel.

Disabling it would probably work best, or just having all stats nerfed by like 95%.

Good idea Tom.
I think it would be fun to make it fair (no mcmmo) and no lose of armor.
A lot of players will attend this, in that case.
You could even add some roleplay; kings or other members of factions that attend the festival and fight for their own faction. They sleep in tents, that are around the festivity area.

MUST HAVES:

Set Classes: A league with classes and set inventories to keep all playing fair.
Open League: Any items allowed.

Game Types:

3v3 battles, elimination, only one life.
1v1 Jousting event!
2v2 Jousting Event!
10 player FFA horse back attack!

Sorry, I have stupid ideas xD

But seriously now. Why not have an mcMMO league and a normal league?
Also, spectator's area and running TeamSpeak commentary are must-haves.

In the past I have been at gladiator events that restricted combat to iron, perhaps regular diamond armor and weapons mcmmo enabled no enchants besides for horse combat with staffs of exile. No pearls and limited potions that a player can use per match.
