On the 14th of November town announcers across the city rung the bells of the morning news. A new law had been passed from the Emperor's hand and the armies were about to board the ships to the west to deal with the Rebels in Ithania. With so many soldiers leaving the archipelago and the relatively low crime rate, the Emperor decided to repeal the Peasant's arms law. With the new "State Defence" law, commoners were once again allowed to own and wear weapons. To provide more direct information about the law:
After the announcements were done, the vast crowds of the Imperial city flocked to the dock sides to watch the soldiers off. It was a colorful parade as various armies of the Ravenstad, Kade, Coen, Typhonus, Barlowe, Fong, Black and more formed rows and marched onto the battleships to be shipped off to war. Women tossed the Regalian Edelfleur on the path in front of them for good luck as fanfares played in the distance accompanied by the church bells ringing all over town. Contrary to tradition across the world where soldiers going off to war are often solemn, in Regalia it is celebrated with music and happiness for every won battle and won war brings the Empire closer to the total hegemony and the promise of the Unionist faith.
- Citizens of the Regalian Empire are permitted to own weapons classified as weapons with the exception of exempted military hardware. Citizens of the Regalian Empire covers Ailor, Elves, Dwarves, Qadir, Ch'ien-ji.
- In service to the aforementioned races, Tigrans, Orcs and Yanar may also own weapons though only as long as a legal contract between themselves and their master is present which requires their servitude for protection of their owner.
- In all previous instances, commoners are not permitted to carry weapons without concealment. This means commoners are allowed to wear daggers and short arming swords on their person out on the street, though they may not have these weapons visible at any point.
- Those permitted to have weapons visible at all times are: Higher Nobility, Violet Order Guards, Imperial Guardsmen, Viridian Knights, Azure Order & Witch Hunter members and Naval Admiralty personnel.
- As a commoner, you may apply for a "public weapon permit" from the Lord Commander of the Violet Order, William Coen, which will allow you to wear any weapon in public. (obviously since you cannot hide a claymore, such a permit would be required to carry one on you in public).
- A series of weapons are classified as military hardware and may not under any circumstance be owned or carried by anyone. These weapons include: Crossbows, Bardiches, Voulges, Halbards, Spears, Bows, Explosives of any kind, Poisoned blades and any further weapon that inflicts excessive gore or dismemberment.
- Citizens and servants of the Regalian Empire may use weapons in the following capacity: A. Self Defense against bodily harm, B. Defense of the Empire against external threats (for example Rebels or an invasion force) and C. Defense of his Holiness and the Imperial Family (all citizens are required to aid Imperial Family members in harms way)
