Square runes are designed all around the left half of his torso surrounding his heart, which has a visible scar from a foiled ice javelin. Visual Self Standing at a stout 4'-5" tall, Nikkidroth is built like a metal ingot and is about as dense physically. With a thick beard, auburn hair with speckles of grey, and lapis blue eyes scowling on a pale face, this unkempt looking figure keeps himself in line with an orange gambeson with brown stripes, heavy trousers, and work boots he can rely on. ⛨ | Core Concept | ⛨ Concept and Religion Nikkidroth believes in the Dogma of Duindin, specifically the founder of the now-fallen Grebor. Bombastic but friendly, he hopes to find companionship and someone to preserve his knowledge to replace the growing loss of his home culture. ⛨ | Life Story | ⛨ June 5th, 251 AC : Nikkidroth is born in the Hold of Grebor by the Bristlemaille household. His twin brother is Neronoth. 1 - 7 : Nikki begins learning how to walk, talk, and read through his early stages of life. 7 - 34 : His mother, an inventor, begins trying to encourage that he aids her in creating better tools for mining during a big economic boom. His father however, a warrior, tries to push Nikki into the military. A middle-ground is chosen by joining the military as a sapper in the same regiment as Neronoth. 34 - 41 : The lower levels of Grebor's Hold fills with Dakkar, forcing the Bristlemaille family to evacuate to the upper corridors. Nikki's father stays behind to protect those fleeing from the front lines, but he goes missing during the battle. 41 - 45 : Nikki becomes appointed as a form of military police in the Hold of Grebor. These years are spent in criminal justice, mostly dealing with the occasional Dakkar running loose or destroying traps laid down by individuals expressing odd inclinations of evil in the name of 'The Ice Mother.' 45 - 52 : Unrest begins to build between the Dakkar once more. Guard duty becomes progressively more difficult as Isldar become bolder and begin trying low-level raids against the hold. He often has to help by forging barricades and small structures made to temporarily support the Dwarvish heroes. 52 - 53 : The seams of reality between the damned and the dead split apart as bone horrors roar to life from deep within the other holds. Although mostly protected by the mountains, combat isn't scarce nor easy. 53 - 54 : The Isldar swoop into battle on the backs of Frost Wyverns. This final winter hardened Nikki as a soldier as he's pit against enemies that test the limits of everything he's been trained for. 54 - 56 : With his mother slain by a group of Isldar riders and as the only Dwarf left in his regiment aside from his twin brother, whom he nearly loses in battle, Nikki flees to Regalia in the belief that there is nothing left for him.
Spoiler: Trivia The name 'Bristlemaille' came from Nikki's grandfather. During a practice session outside of Brühl, he fell into a dead thorn-bush. Supposedly, he had thorns and bristles stuck in his chain-mail for almost a full year before finally getting out the final pieces by simply sticking his armour into a fire. Nikki almost learned how to use a spear instead of the maul, but he chose to learn the maul in honour of his father who went into battle with one. Nikki once won a speed-drinking contest against an Orc by telling so many jokes that the Orc was having trouble keeping up since he was laughing so hard. As interesting as the maul's title sounds, it was awarded solely for the reason that it hasn't been broken despite very constant use. Otherwise, it would have remained nameless. Before going into the military, Nikki weighed 137 pounds because he was severely overweight. Because of Tabacca's effects not doing much to a Dwarf, Nikki will go out of his way to call Tabacca farmers and salesmen 'dirty liars for not selling stronger stuff.' Customers often will get a monologue from him talking about how much of a 'scam' the product is. Spoiler: Art None yet. sad face :(
Here's my review - Skill Information The source of your learning can't be from 'Erebor', given that it's directly from Lord of the Rings. Personality and Abilities The third paragraph needs to delineate between friends and family more clearly, whereas his interactions with strangers can be sectioned off to the first paragraph. Mark these changes in red and tag me when you're ready.
HAH! That was not intentional, I'm so sorry! I meant to type Grebor, as seen with the hammer and the hold. Very similar spelling, but I can assure I did not mean to do any copying with that one. My edits have been made! Anything else? @Valentinian
@Bagley_ Updated to the new proficiency system. Nikkidroth was made 10 years younger (from 72 to 62) in the process, which had no effect to his life-story other than modifying the numbers.
@Caelamus reworked lifestory and reduced age to breathe life back into the Dwarf. Additionally, @TheBearistotle is playing his twin brother, Neronoth Bristlemaille, and father labeled as missing to open up the position as a possibility.
