Archived New Strike Trait: Vampfeedstrike

Problem:
Now that the Vampire plugin is gone, the closest equivalent (That I know of) to feeding off a creature/player is FeedStrike. The problem with FeedStrike is that there is only a 5% chance of it activating from a melee strike. MCMMO boosted unarmed attacks do 1+3=4 damage at low Unarmed levels and even more at higher levels. Assuming your attacking an unarmored player who would be killed in 20/ 4=5 hits, that would only give a 5*596= 25% chance of restoring hunger. So after feeding off another player until they die, there is only a 1/4 chance of restoring hunger.

Solution:
Create a new FeedStrike trait with a higher chance of success, but with a lower reward. I would suggest increasing the chance to 100%, but reducing the Hunger Points gained to 1 (0.5 Drumsticks). This would result in 5 Hunger Points (2.5 Drumsticks) gained from killing an unarmored player.

TL DR
FeedStrike is not effective enough to create a valid method of restoring Hunger Points for Vampires, we need a different trait.

I think that this change would create a better trait for those seeking to create a Vampire trait build. What do you guys think?

Do they have a blood feed option? Also do they have one where vamps burn in the day. I was a vamp for a while and it was fun until rp became impossible
 
Vampires are usually only in RP, RP is usually in Regalia, Regalia has damage off, making a trait like this useless unless for PVP. I don't really see the point here, just RP it out.. :V

Good point.
However a burn in day or a trait like the old blood trait would be usefull
 
Do they have a blood feed option? Also do they have one where vamps burn in the day. I was a vamp for a while and it was fun until rp became impossible

There was some sort of blood feed option in the original plugin, but now you'd have to use FeedStrike. Or Carnivore, but that just wouldn't be the same.

They don't have a trait that causes burning in sunlight, but there is a trait that causes you to take damage when in sunlight.

I get that, but I also enjoy playing survival as a vampire. I figure if they got rid of the dedicated vampire plugin they could at least add a better blood feeding trait than FeedStrike.

Good enough you can add jumpboost night vision etc to make a good rp character. Vamps were never great at pvp

That may be, but there are feeding options for many of the old races as well as new feeding options. I don't see any reason why vampire shouldn't get one. Also, keep in mind that this would be able to be used on mobs (at least I asume it can be used on mobs), not just PVP.

Vampirise is a curse. Not a race. It's rather minor, when compared to the former.

It was made for both. While most of the traits are PvP minded, this is because RPers didn't need as many traits as PvPers do to make it interesting, and because many traits double for both PvP and RP (Things like FlyWater are used frequently by both)
 
It would be cool if that brought back the ability to drink blood from a willing subject. I always loved that if you're starving to death, you can pretty much eat your companion.

As I stated in my original post, FeedStrike is a similar, but significantly less effective spin on the old blood trait. The way it used to be is that vampires would get food upon the killing of players and most creatures. As far a I know this chance was 100%. My suggestion is implement a trait that is in between these two, since the ability to partially feed off a creature without killing makes more sense to me anyway.
 
There is already a trait like this ._.

The Vampire Disease, and every single race except Vespid can be re-created using traits :I
Presently, Vespid (now Mekett) and Yanar cannot be recreated. And the old vampire plugin can only be imitated. The traits plugin still has a way to go before it can do what the vampire plugin could.

This isn't a complaint about the traits plugin, I love it. I just hope development on it will pick up again soon.

Vampires Are not A race. Moving on.

Feedstrike. A trait that grants no lasting fill to your hunger bar due to lack of saturation, as well as just all around being a pain to actually get to proc unless you have an autoclicker that clicks 20 times a second, or you use your bow for once. Useless as all hell in RP as well, probably only finding use in Darkrooming.

I'd agree with OP on this one. The trait would probably serve some far better use and be at least somewhat more used than feedstrike, and makes more sense. I would ask that the VampireFeeding trait would enable use of the old /v o and /v a functionalities we've seen in the plugin. I can't think it would be exceedingly difficult to accomplish, given we have the complicated enough (Code Wise I believe) traits such as the Yin-Yang Holy and Unholy traits.
