Affected Pages
Why
  • Complaints about the functionality of Undead with all their drawbacks.
What Changed
  • Mortis Daël limited to Altalar only now.
  • Mortis Käl is what happens when the Daël ritual is done on non-Altalar.
  • Added in Isldar impressions.
  • Changed some of the wording on Javalis.
  • Changed the OOC notes to be more clear about the permissions.
  • Moved Mortis Sul and Kul to be "Unplayable Undead" who just exist in lore for the sake of it.
  • History of Undeadism unaffected.
  • Common Traits of Undeadism unaffected.
  • Implemented Corruption Cursed Undead & Mortis Crav with mutation mechanic.
  • Moved some of the OOC rules to the Trivia to use up less filler space.
Special Notes
  • We want to stress again that while this update gives the Undead a little bit of playing room, Undead will not and are not intended to be a playable race or game mechanic. Undeadism is supposed to be a narrative "end of the line" or "last character echo" of a person that closes that person's storyline. Undeadism is not meant to form a new chapter, and will never be supported as a "true" fair and playable mechanic. This update is just meant to give those who want to persist in Undeath a little bit of breathing space away from KOS kill perms surrendered, but it is not supposed to bring them on equal playing level with the living or other abberants. We've offered a way out for Isldar Aysur when their lore comes out, but for now, this is it for Undead.
What should Players do
  • Nothing really. Maybe change their undead race a bit to fit the new rules, but base Undead haven't really changed, we just adde

If mortis kül are unplayable, does that mean mortis crav that were originally kül are unplayable?

Well since Mortis Kul are unplayable, there goes my undead url, assuming that they can't be applied for via unique "race" special permissions. (I know undead aren't their own race, but I'd assume they would be filed under that application, if they were available through special permissions)

You could just alter the type of undead they are
Yes, but the Mortis Kul is then one that is mindless. It'll be hard to keep them the same while being a different undead. Mortis Käl is similarly aggressive, but not quite the same. I also wouldn't know what to do to the backstory to keep it similar enough but lore compliant. His entire "personality" (if you can call it that) would be different to the point he would be an entirely different character. I'll see what I can do, but I don't know if I can salvage the character while keeping him the same.
