Minecraft's E3 Announcement: What Does It Mean For Massive?

Discuss what? Something that's not even happening to Massive as was pointed out by the third or fourth post?
You missed my entire point. You dont even care about Massive, why even come to point out that PVP isnt what it used to be? I mean who the hell even cares? I'm trying to calm some people down from trying to believe the world is ending and you come up in here, tearing it up because you cant have your precious pvp back to have it was. Just go away already its clear you dont care about massive and you wont return so just leave.

I have friends on Massive whether I enjoy the gameplay anymore or not and it's much easier for me to check messages here than it is in game so sorry to inform you but my "random" visits aren't going to stop anytime soon. If you don't like the content of my messages on the forums you are more than welcome to skip over them nobodies holding a gun to your head. The internet is where nerds like me go to bitch about things that's nothing new soooo... I guess, welcome to the internet?

Ohmygod its like im talking to a child

Look i dont even care anymore. Do whatever you want.

oh wait we never implemented 1.9 PvP so????
Completely off topic so ima hop off after this post, but he's not wrong. The balancing issues after 1.9 took weeks/months to fix, and the hit registration on massive still sucks because of 1.9+ features which massive no longer has any control over. All that was given with the reasoning that staying at 1.7/1.8 was impractical and nobody would still be on it, and here we are with every remotely successful pvp server still in 1.7/1.8. Let the past be the past, but 1.9 was one of the larger nails in the coffin for pvp, granted it wasn't the only reason.

I'm sorry but you're getting mad about things people say on the internet that literally have no effect on your life at all. Who's acting like a child again?
Im not mad. I am frustrated that my entire goal with my input on this thread was to CALM PEOPLE DOWN, and you, somebody who has given up on Massive and has no real input to this thread at all, is trying to derail it for no reason other than to remind others that you arent on Massive anymore because of stuff that happened in the past. Its what happens once every few months. You disappear and show up to remind everybody that you left because of how crappy PVP is now or whatever. Its tiring.

Im invested in this place. Trust me I have plenty of reasons not to be and I dont even donate money to this place anymore because of those reasons, but im still here trying to make the best of it. So please try not to think that you have any means to insult me, youd just be wasting your own energy you could be spending being pessimistic that Massive isnt how it used to be. Believe it or not, some of us are ACTUAL adults who can actually be constructive. Who wouldve thought.

Yeah we did. It was quickly modified though to a hybrid form 0f 1.8 and 1.9 which still really sucks and took them a year to balance if you could even call it balanced now. Anyway the damage is done and Factions is a ghost town.
don't think it was the new combat that ruined it. I just think Factions isn't that entertaining. Usually when i try factions servers I leave after 1-3 days. What made me stay on MassiveCraft was their unique roleplay system.

I wrote (and have not posted): As long as Minecraft servers can only run complex plugins on the java edition there will be a player base for that. That is the player base we have here on MassiveCraft. In fact it is 100% of our player base.
Mojang /might/ spend more time and energy on the other Minecraft editions but that doesn't mean Minecraft Java is dead from my POV we are doing quite fine. The interesting part is when the "new" Minecraft versions can be played on all platforms AND Mojang has made the Plugin API (and that is only delayed by five years at this point). Until that happens I believe we offer a gaming experience so different from Minecraft 10/console/pocket that we are fine.

Even then, Java has been around for well, since the beginning literally, I can't see enough people making enough mods on Windows Edition to come close to even a hundredth of what has been made for Java, not even counting the literal hundreds of thousands of maps and plugins. Its just generally infinitely better. (even redstoners hate Windows because it broke quasi connectivity which is near essential for anything to work lol)

You forget that this means nothing to Mojang. They make NO money on servers, and NO money on the mods that are on those servers. So whether or not mods are compatible and those creating and using are happy... doesnt really concern Mojang. Theyll be making the same amount of money whether or not mods exist.

It DOES bring a little hope tho because of that Mojang server announcement. So there is that.

If enough people are still playing the Java version though then I doubt they will ever shut it down, and I was saying more in relation to, I doubt a ton of people will move over because Windows Edition is kind of crap tbh kek

The above reminds me of Skyrim SE where, sure, it was a little prettier and they fixed some things but the amount of mods and users for original Skyrim is still much higher.

Especially since the successful developement of a compatible script extender keeps being delayed.

Same but different.

Meh, even if they do shut the Java part down it's probably because something better would have came out by that time.
