Minecraft Newb

I haven't played in over a year. I used to play on few Survival servers, Base raids, PvP, etc. Had alot of fun but the hacks, XRAY, teleports caused our sever alot of problems and eventually our Server Admin / Bukkit modder quit and the server died off

I dusted off Minecraft a week ago and start to look around for well established servers and heard good things about Massivercraft on the forums and want to try it out. It looks like the game mods are crazy powerful now, I am psyched to try out your faction system,races,etc...

Any suggestions for a new player :

Factions that are willing to take on new players ?
Any particular world/continent to start out and harvest resources ?

There are a lot of good factions, but there are even more that are a bad place to start. If you find a faction, message me on the forums and i'll tell you what I know about 'em.

As for a particular world, Ellador is probably the best one you'll find.

Hello, Albacore is in Ithania and is a great place to start and expand. We have rooms and inns for new players as well! And we`re a very friendly and mature bunch!

Yggdrasil is restructuring all our members and officers at the moment

we got a lot of open spots and will expand a lot in the next weeks.

Yggdrasil is recommended as they are a sub of the 9th and you will be well protected and pretty free to do as you please

I recommend staying away from all factions. Gather some resources, reestablish the joy you used to get from playing, and build yourself a nice house. Then, if you feel you are ready, join a faction; however, I do recommend staying away from the following factions and all of their subfactions:

My good sir, might i point out that the 9th has bases spread all over the place and thus new members won't get affected by the war.

yes I am currently recruiting Officers to help me lead my faction ! At first I got only 1 Officer that I trully trusted, but he betrayed me.. So I decided to put in charge 3 Main Officers and myself will lead Yggdrasil. Then, we will focus on recruiting new players and getting them to join one of our different Guild.

Vrist is on the list

*sadness* He's right though a big war was just going on and might still go on alot is uncertain now. To me at least. As for worlds Elledor is overcrowded but might see a big drop in population when the new worlds come out. Obviously do NOT Build in cearida It is going to be deleted soon (incase you joined right before Regalia was set as spawn)

I'm not being defensive at all. I said good for you. You should be happy and/or content; however, you seem to think that the words I typed had an attitude of some sort and took it the wrong way. Therefore, while I am being calm and whatnot, you're surfing the internet misinterpreting words and dragging something on that didn't concern you in the first place.
So, in the rudest way you can interpret this;

If you have not joined a faction yet you can join Southstone. We are not in any war and actualy have no enemies at the moment. We are the main faction on our island in Ellador (the other is bacily inactive and their main base is in a different world). We focuse of farming and mining. There is also mass land clearing that needs to be done. There is no cost to join. We accept all races including vampires. Their is a large wheat farm and a pig farm is under construction. We also have a large (and as far as I know raid proof) castle. If you want to join msg me on the forums and I will invite you.
