Minecraft Horses

What is the true value of horses?

  • They are slow, common, disobedient, and die to quickly so they should be cheap.

  • They shouldn't be used in pvp, they should be only seen in Regalia where Nobles use them.

This thread was made to set a good price on Horses, we will give our reasons like this: Horses should cost 50s because they are fat and have great health and are easy to store etc ... On the negative side, people will say: Horses should cost 5s as they are slow, easily killed and hard to control etc ...
These are obvious guesses but we are looking for possibilities incase some guy makes horses 1000s each. I may be completely wrong for posting these threads as Horses may be free, but in Skyrim and the real world, you don't find horses lying anywhere.
What if horses don't redrawn? It may get to a point where faction: kings1234h4x (e.g.) Have Massivecrafts stock of horses. Also, to back up my point on location of horses, wolves are wild animals, tamed, and Horses are controlled as they are more peaceful and smart animals. I will start a poll with as many options as I can but please do reply to keep this thread noticed ... Hopefuls they could become ChrisHorses :D P.S. I believe this should be feature for everyone as If they can afford it, why can't they have it?

I think that horses should be medium priced. definitely NOT 1000s that is WAY too overpriced. I think they should be found in the wild and tamed. Just liked wolves or maybe you can summon them like kitty cats (Daw, they are SO adorable) and dogs.

Nah Not in safe zones, that would be cruel ... Or maybe they could but they would be jailed in RP prison oooh I like this flow of RP

Rooseus, you are correct. There are brumbies (wild horses) still left out where mankind hasn't inhabited, yet. And how fast they will go? As a rough estimation they might be twice as fast as a normal player, or maybe the same as normal players except with Speed I.
Also, with the safe zones. You can attack cats and dogs in safe zones but with horses, I don't think you should be able to harm them and/or kill them.

I wonder if Mcmmo will add a way to summon horses as you would with a wolf or a cat? If so, the prices would surely be very low.

Will the horses be exclusive to one land or will it be in all of them?

I agree with that but I do hope it's better than Speed I... Otherwise they would be useless for me except for RP because I carry like 20 speed II potions on me at all times...[DOUBLEPOST=1365769205,1365769150][/DOUBLEPOST]I agree that a horse mcmmo ability should exist, but maybe higher level required? I'm digging my own grave here, because me mcmmo taming is a grand lvl 1, but just thinking.

For sure i would pay nothing, NOTHING, over 30s for a horse. They arent worth the money just to turn around and see someone kill them/ a faction member kill them.

If horse are linked to the taming feature and they get stronger as your level increase then I for one would not want to fight anyone with 1000+ taming if they had a horse. It would be like a dragon that whinnies.

We still don't know much about them yet. Come the first 1.6 snapshot alot of this thread will pretty much just be scrap.
Trying to set a price on something when we still don't know what it is capable, or incapable, of.

I never said anything about them getting stronger, just that you need, say, lvl 50 taming to summon a horse. They don't get stronger.

Well, you can't summon a pig, which you can also ride, so I'm not sure you should be able to summon a horse either.

And they'll cost what the market will pay for them. There's no sense trying to set a cost for an item, it won't work, despite what big government touts.
