› Character Alignment | Lawful Good
Mereya bears many traits of the typical Wyrmborn Isldar, including the sky-blue eyes irises and the blue-lilac scales that are indicative of her Dramarys heritage. She rarely allows the full extent of her Dragonborn features on display, and is most often only found with these Draconic scales covering her ears, arms, and hands. Her long, bone-white hair is frequently stylized with an elaborate bun and braid, and her attire usually includes free-flowing blue fabrics and leather accessories that combine elegance with practicality for combat settings. Her forehead is accented by a crescent moon tattoo, and the back of her neck and her spine are decorated with cosmic iconography.

A Historied House
The Clan of Elyraal is an expansive family of Wyvern breeders and trainers hailing from the Meyranlēy region of Ellador, the name as ancient as the Isldar themselves. The House of Saleyaal is a branch of this clan who migrated to the Regalian Archipelago approximately two centuries ago, taking with them their culture and knowledge to cultivate in the mist-blanked lands of Leisarannaar in northern Solleria.› Mereya is the current Countess of this region, and is more than happy to discuss the history of her homeland and her people. Players are also welcome to reach out to establish backstory connections or relations to Mereya, her family, or her homeland. You can read more about House Saleyaal and its history by visiting this page.
The Benevolent Lifesinger
First and foremost, Mereya is a Dragon Priestess who preaches the teachings of Regulus, seeking to act as a mediator not only between the opposite spectrums of Dragon Worshippers, but also between conflicting groups beyond the scope of Draconism. She offers guidance and aid to faithful and outsiders alike, operating as a healer, a cursebreaker, and a defender of the living. Much of her skillset is influenced both by Isldarrin tradition, and by the secretive practices of the Anglian Witches.› Others can approach Mereya for religious discussion or healing services, regardless of their own social status or spiritual beliefs. She can perform exorcisms, heal injuries, absorb curses, and help anguished souls peacefully pass onto the afterlife. Rumor has it that even the Afflicted can be recipients of Mereya's mercy, and are welcome to approach the Countess if they wish to quietly pursue a path of redemption.
Natural Allies
Mereya is positively predisposed to other Draconism faithful and those who have innate connections to the Dragons. It is known that she welcomes all Draconists, whether commoner or aristocrat, to seek refuge and safety within the Saleyaal Manor in Regalia―provided that all guests are able to present themselves with some degree of decorum. She also has biases towards the Aelrrigan Order, with several members of her family having served as Knights of the Order before. The Countess finds kinship with other Life Isldar, but also feels a closeness to the Solvaan and Anglian Ailor due to her having grown up in a community of them.› Mereya is known to act favorably to individuals from certain groups or backgrounds, making her more inclined to dedicate time, money, or aid towards specific communities. Those who are Dragon-aligned or have some historic connection to the province of Solleria are automatically viewed in a more positive light (unless they prove themselves unworthy of being granted this personal bias).
No Damsel in Distress
Despite Mereya's preference to pursue diplomatic solutions to conflict as opposed to physical combat, she is by no means a helpless pacifist. She is a trained combatant who calls upon the strength of the Dragons to bolster herself and her allies during a battle. Those who would mistakenly label her as a helpless highborn and an easy target for crime may find themselves sorely regretting their assumptions after being confronted by icy claws and Draconic fury.› Mereya is willing to duel with others to sharpen her skills, and is equally willing to violently oppose those who would desecrate Alorian life. She acts as an antagonist to Evolists, Death Cultists, Argentum, and the Afflicted, and criminal characters are always welcome to try and attack, kidnap, or otherwise target the Countess in their evil schemes. However―the Wyrmborn is a warrior, and she will not go down quietly. -
Trivia
› Mereya's preferred form of long-distance travel is on the back of her Frost Wyvern, Varena. The Countess considers her Wyvern to be her most trusted companion, having grown up alongside the Wyvern from the day it first hatched.› The Countess has an appreciation for botany and gardening, which she picked up during her time being mentored by Anglian Witches. She's developed a green thumb and a keen eye for identifying the useful properties of unsuspecting flora, and can commonly be found visiting greenhouses and parks to tend to nature.› Isldar make for talented and famed musicians, and Mereya's skills as a singer, harpist, and flutist make for no exception. She was tutored in both choral and instrumental music to carry on the customs of her elders, and often puts her talent to use during religious ceremonies.
Thank you Okanara for the Sulvaley script used in the title!
