Herro people of the massivecrafts!
I've been having LOTS of sleep overs at friends houses lately, meaning I stay up all night on my phone, and one night I was trying to finish some of my RP Char, and I thought to my self
Now Turtle wouldn't it be awesome if you could just be like 6 taps away from being on the massivecraft forums on the go
Sure you can use your google app, but I find it a little annoying when your making a thread and you try to make a bold letter, and you have to scroll all the way up then back down then up then down, also it zooms out making it a Little annoying

I dont know, I just wanted to get the idea out there

that just sounds really difficult to code and stuff But you DO know you can add it to home screen right xD

Ive never really had trouble viewing the forums on mobile but I can see how it would be hard to do something like RP intro on the mobile web browser.

Well yes, I do suppose that it would be not only more convenient but also more accessible if made on a mobile browser..

I can se a few way this could be done.
We are using software from XenForo to the forums.
1 XenForo make an way to get apps with their forums. We should problary pay the, 50-500$ a year, to get that app. Not including the fees from Apple and Google.
2'Use another forum app like TapATalk, if that is compatible with XenForo.
3 Hire someone to code an app compatible with XenForo, if he does not have access on source code or done it before. It could easily cost 5.000-10.000 $.
4 Use another forum software, that includes an app. Not likely since it would require the team learning to use this new software. A lot of stuff would go lost and a lot of work to make it look nice.

I Hope that explains why this would not happen I the foreseen future. Unless someone is already workin on it.
Remember that even a custom wordpress theme can cost 4000 $. Making an app is not easier, especially if it has to be compatible with software other people made.

Actually, the forums you're seeing now on your phone are really, really nice. Before the update the mobile site was horrible. But now it's clean, prim, and pressed.

I'd suggest if you're doing something like writing a character app on your phone, download the Google Docs app and use that instead. Then if something happens (crash, page refresh, etc.) it stays saved. It's best to save things on your own documents instead of keeping the only copies on the forums. We can't always guarantee it'll be there and we can't be held responsible if something happened.

Some of you are really over thinking this... I have software (admittedly it wasn't cheap) that allows me to create phone applications (android and iOS) relatively easy as long as I know what I'm doing (I do :P ) so I assure you it wouldn't cost $10, 000 or whatever ridiculous amount was mentioned above. A second point (as mentioned by @Ryciera) is that it's unnecessary. I'm on my phone right now typing this up just fine. It saves drafts that you can access on your computer if need be and it's not that hard to scroll. Give your thumbs a work out. An app would be entirely unnecessary and frankly a waste of resources with the new XenForo update if the idea was pursued. Apart from that, there are already numerous threads with this same idea. If it's that important to have an app for your sleepovers something at sleepovers I know that there are some decent truth or dare appa you can use, download them and have fun. But not too much fun ;)

Yes you can get software to make apps easy. But as it is often drag and drop not just code. You problary can't use that that to access XenForo stuff. Besides that you don't have access to XenForo souce code (I don't know but a qualified gues). Therefore making an app to this forum won't be easy.

No, it's not drag and drop. I'm talking about Delphi, an entire programming environment and language. Apart from that, I don't have access to the source code but I do know people that own the forum software, as a web developer it won't be to hard to find the button that does what I want :P

Ok i didn't know that it was that easy, to take almost all functionality from XenForo and put it into an app. That still keeps synchronized with this website. But then again, I know someone who makes websites and iOS apps. To make them create Amal would cost 5.000$ in most cases. And I thought it would be harder to give it XenForo functionality and synchronize it with this forum.

Granted it's not easy but it's not as hard as everyone says it is. iOS apps are expensive because they cost to get put on the market and you need and Apple product to create them, I make websites and guarantee that I would never charge $5, 000 dollars so that must be mostly the iOS application that he is charging for. Anyway, this is getting off topic and regardless, I highly doubt there will be an application made for the forums.
