Who has noticed that, for the past month or so, there has been several players who have gone toxic (who will not be named for the sake of decency)? There has been several rants targeted at staff, and even other players who are accused of being staff suck-ups. Why, exactly, do these players go toxic and not use options open to them to solve server issues? Most of these players seem to want to make their complaints public, and in tbe process make all parties involved, for both sides, look bad. It isn't necessarily a bad thing to state an issue with the server, but if it's going to be done, at least make it a fair, nontoxic discussion to where both groups can come to a solution.
Most of these groups have had several complaints in common, like the staff not caring about the players and the server. If this were the case, why have the server at all? Why bother with putting in so many hours to make new plugins, enhance roleplay, and even create everything that makes this server the way it is? Maybe these players believed that with the staff being so close, it appears that they don't pay much attention to the regular players. To be honest, maybe these staff aren't intentionally ignoring players, but are just really caught up in what they're currently doing.
Another issue addressed was the players accused of being suckups, especially roleplayers. Even if there are players who actually have been such a way, most of the players accused of this actually worked, not sucked, their way up. I know some of these people, and I know that they have worked through this, using determination to get there.
The last issue, and perhaps the biggest, was corruption within the staff. In reality, there has been a history of corruption. But as far as I know, those staff were dealt with because players addressed the issue fairly. Not all staff are bad, and they don't want to hurt the players or the server. Another part of this was the claim that staff ban people for the simplest reasons. While this can be exaggerated, even I noticed that punishments tend to be harsh. So improvement can be done for both players and staff. If you wish to point out corruption, or handle an issue, don't go toxic about it, just have a fair, just discussion about it.
Trust me, it will help make the server better, and not hurt as many people.

Since this isn't a rant I'll dissect-

Three players went toxic. One player was accused of being a suck up. Against 2200 unique players weekly. Keep that relative number in mind.

Most likely because the first didn't even play on this server anymore and the latter two were banned way before they posted their thread. These players for all intents and purposes weren't even participants of the Massive Community anymore, they simply decided to come back to cause some drama and go out with a bang.

No. You're validating a completely erroneous opinion. Pretty much everything they said should strongly be taken with a pinch of salt since all they engaged in was preaching to the choir. Just because something gets repeated by a small group of people who might well suffer from delusions, doesn't mean they are anywhere near valid.

Suckups are actually despised by staff and generally picked up on fairly quickly. We do not associate with these people, as it is offensive to suck up to a staff member, by implying their persona is degraded to just them being staff, as opposed to valuing them as people.

History implies frequent. Do you have any proof of this? Can you cite any examples that actually rest in truth? What you're stating here does just as much damage as what those toxic people you identify have done before. You are slinging misinformed incorrect information into the world with little regard who picks it up or what happens with it.

even I noticed that punishments tend to be harsh.
Can you cite examples? give context? Explain why you feel that way? this is scratched under the same issue as part above.

Seriously, if you're going to invest yourself into this subject, you need to really know what you're talking about instead of going by hear say. Rumors fly around all the times because we quite precisely keep things professional and refrain from informing players about misbehaving staff members, because it's none of their business. Just because a staff member did something wrong and ends up on the end of a punishment doesn't invalidate all the work they have done for the server. The most decent thing we can do is to give them that respect and decency by not going on an all-out poo flinging contest who can get the most popularity and therefor validate their point of view. The most decent thing players can do at that point is to stop propagandizing uninformed and ignorant opinions that are literally based on nothing.

The complaint section is wide open and professionally set up. We have specialized complaint staff, and even if a complaint is filed against them, a chain of responsible individuals who take over to ensure complete impartiality and confidentiality. I don't want to think, be reminded of, or have to defend myself against these "crazy" individuals, because they are exactly that, but I am forced to do so if you give them a shed of validity by bringing up their points and saying there is even an ounce of truth in them.

My intention of this thread wasn't to complain about staff, I apologize if that's how I sounded. I wasn't accusing anybody, I had just meant this as a way to show people that there is no reason to go toxic.

You did say that punishments could be harsh and that there's been a history of staff abuse, those were both two statements that you made. I don't know much about some of the punishments, or anything about past staff abuse, but do you have specific examples?

Idk if you do or not- maybe you do, and if so they should definitely be brought out. But I think MonMarty is right to ask for specification on that.

and fyi, I just read the most recent "rage rant" and the first thing I saw was him making a personal insult about what I presume is the appearance of the admin the drunk monk.

So in my mind, that kind of instantly turned him into a hateful rager who should be ignored, and not given a spotlight to spout his hate.

Yeah, toxic players in general are toxic from the start. They may be a little toned down when they first set foot on the server but once they get comfortable in the rules and how far they can bend them that's when the real monster emerges.

Having said that I would say that for the exception of the short lived experiment known as PvP chat the staff does a great job at keeping things as pleasant as you can reasonably expect it to be and when there is a staff member that does abuse the rules or acts in a way not fitting for a person of their stature there is usually swift action taken against said individuals. I can think of 2 instances in particular where just that happened. I won't name names as it is not my place to do so but one of my friends lost his position of staff for breaking server rules and another staff who had harassed me about the nickname I chose saying it was inappropriate even though another staff member had said it was OK for me to use it. Not only that but they also removed the nickname from a banned player so that I could instead use it.

Staff abuse does happen I mean all the staff are just people like us and make mistakes too but IMO the overall staff on this server is immensely better than any staff I have come into contact with on other servers. They do their best and for that I thank them it's not easy dealing with this many peoples issues. :)
