However, he doesn’t dress very formally as he prefers comfort and practicality over style. In a sense he is ready for a fight whenever the occasion should come up. Personality Information Character Alignment - Neutral Good: Despite his love for combat, Malte is generally a good person and has people’s best interest in mind. Doing what’s best sometimes doesn’t always adhere to the social etiquette; he doesn’t care much for others’ opinions of him so if he must do what is right in the long term, he will do such. Although he may not seem like the nicest of people, Malte would help anyone should they need it. Character Personality Type - The Debater: He has asked questions ever since he was able to form sentences. Though he was little, he always wanted to know “why” things happened. His father was careful to temper this part of his son but not discourage it. Being able to ask good questions is a skill; furthermore, to be able to find more than one answer was important as well. Malte enjoys a challenge of opinion, bias, and fact. Oftentimes he enjoys discussing decisions and whether they are right, or wrong. Character Faith - Oldt Fayth: In a family where his Father is a devout Pagan due to his Velheim heritage, Malte was raised with Pagan beliefs. Specifically, he learned from his Father that Hermed was the most honorable God to praise. Since a lot of their blessings came from those before them, it was good to give praise to their ancestry as well. Malte lives by a personal code of honor due to this. However, he has to keep his beliefs almost entirely secret because it prove to be politically fatal for him. Life Story Malte’s parents are Runa Fristadvlom and Wulf Alfsund; they serve as his inspiration for many parts of his life. Frankly, he looked up to his father and wished to be like him ever since a young age. The Velheimer was a devoted reader of books. This passed down to Malte, as he had seen his father spend hours at a time reading in his study. Like so, Malte started reading from a young age of six years old; it was hard for him to pay attention and understand the words, Wulf would help his son however. From his mother - Malte gained compassion for those around him while also keeping a firm resolve. His mother helped him become the person he is, and his father taught him how to use his skills to become a warrior and a faithful Skagger. Both were instrumental in Malte growing into a combatant. Living life with his parents and some of the other family members grew quite boring for Malte. It was so peaceful, and isolated from the rest of the world. If anything, he wanted to become strong like his parents so he could help protect his people. As he grew older, he began to realize that the Velheim culture, specifically the Skaggers was dying. This bothered him. How could his culture be fading away? Wulf, his father, particularly noticed this about Malte and discussed with him that it wouldn’t stay like this. Before he left, one of his cousins came to his home to train with his mother. The boy was Astor; and despite their differences, Malte grew to enjoy the other boys company and developed a friendship with him. In a sense, they grew up together for a while before the world called too much. Malte at last asked to be sent to the School of Skagger so he could be taught more about what his heritage is and learn how to fight. Runa did not approve, she had hoped for a military school for Malte; Wulf was proud and got everything ready. He was sent to the Ulf-Bein Lodge to learn the Discipline of Skagenak. At the time he was age fourteen. During his time at the school, he learned a lot about the mannerisms of Skaggers, and despite him believing that Skaggers were angry people. It surprised him to find that they were extremely well-tempered; Malte thought that such a discipline of self was impossible for him. It didn't take too long for him to understand why they are like that, and how to get there. For the first time he was being challenged mentally and physically, however, it only encouraged him. He met another Skagger by the name of Calder, who had noticed that Malte was a devout Pagan. As they grew closer as friends, Calder exposed him to Pagan Ritualism - he said that this was a part of their culture and asked if Malte would like to study it with him. He had hesitantly agreed to learn how to read the Pagan scriptures and learn with him during their free time. Little did Malte know, that all of his reading, practicing, and devotion was turning him into one of the remaining people to preserve the traditions of the past. After applying a Pagan mutation; he had to wear full clothing most of the time and not reveal his tattoos. After graduating, Malte returned home to his parents briefly to spend time with them before attending another school to put his combat training to use. Wulf and Runa had aged; it surprised him at first but he realized that age was inevitable even for his parents. Wulf was the first to notice how much his son had changed. Despite the growth from a boy to a man, everything had changed about Malte but not for the worse. Even though at heart he is a Pagan and always will be, his parents made sure to teach him to keep his beliefs entirely secret. Only the most trusted people in his life could know, and the rest of the time he would need to fit in among the Unionists and know about their beliefs. The Burning of the North disturbed and shook his parents up. It was hard for him to see them worried, much less having to relocate their home to Libertade. This disaster for his people served to reaffirm his beliefs and purpose; Malte wants to see his culture and people live on. Then, the man left once more to go attend the School of Marshalry this time. His mother wanted him to find a position in the military and that is what he did; he also wanted to be able to have a chance to put to use his skills and training. The School of Skagger helped him be calm under pressure and not let fear take grip of his senses. Throughout his attendance at the School of Marshalry, he found himself learning to be a more disciplined person overall. His emotions had been tempered before but after learning command and how to deliver orders, he mellowed out further and developed his calm. During those ten years, he also learned strategy and how to control the battle field. It was strange for him not to be one of the men out on the field but he also was able to perform well using strategy and finding the balance between offense and defense. Recently, he has graduated from his ten years in the Academy and wants to put his learned skills to use to try and help the city as much as he can. He also wants to possibly preserve the original culture his family comes from, and meet new people. Malte hopes that his parents will join him in the city at some point.

@HydraLana I'm really sorry for all of the edits I have been making - I promise this is the last one for a while. I added to his skills that he attended the School of Marshalry after he attended the School of Skagger since I want him to get into the military. I scrapped Unarmed Combat and took a point away from Ritualism to develop his skill in Squad Tactic. I added that into his life story as well.
@Nesstro I re-worked him and changed what he went to the School of Marshalry for. I made it so that he went in to learn how to be a General, and incorporated such into his life story and added the Thin Blades Skill. All edits were made in blue.
