Her mother left Dettamalia on the front steps of an orphanage. Believing that this was the best for her daughter. The orphanage accepted her but Dettamalia knew she was not truly accepted. The kids were all afraid of her. It was at this age that she began to understand her ability to persuade others to do her bidding. She finally got the kids in the orphanage to give her things, toys, stolen treats, etc. She learned how powerful she truly was, and she ran away from the orphanage at age 16. She was living in the streets stealing to survive when she found it, a beautiful violin that someone had discarded. She taught herself how to play and eventually, she started performing at a small tavern. She began to infuse magic into her playing and by doing so it began to corrupt the violin, the neck started to decay slightly but that did not stop her from her music. She has traveled the world with her music following alongside her. The bow that she uses to play is sharpened at the end with the hilt of a rapier, she uses this as a makeshift weapon to use in fights.
