It is a commonly kept secret, in the underground community, that there is no place called Lost Street. This is, in fact, a truth that is known by practically everyone. Should you go looking for that wretched and broken place, you won't find a single lane, trail or dark dagger-filled alleyway called Lost Street in all of Crookback. However, if those poor lost and unfortunate individuals, who find themselves trapped in the throes of misfortune, do wander through those alleyways, they might spy an old worn structure sitting with all the crooked neatness of the others like it. This, is the Lost Street Orphanage.

It is a commonly kept secret that the Lost Street Orphanage does not actually sit on Lost Street. No-one knows why it got that name. It is also a commonly kept secret that nothing at all that could be described as lovely, pleasant, or even moderately agreeable, occurs within the Lost Street Orphanage. However, if you take an interest in clever orphans, dour domiciles, secret rituals, terrible housekeeping and dark mysteries, you may just find your way to the Lost Street Orphanage.

Those who stay within the confines of the Orphanage, both children and those who were once children, are expected to pay their keep. The institution can't run on charity alone. After all, criminals and smugglers are so rarely the charitable sort. Such labors can include helping to maintain the old and crumbling sewer tunnels, bottling blood for vampires, or gathering information from the street corners and quiet little crannies. One might tell themselves that at least these people have a roof over their heads, and warm meals. However, there is always that question of just how much do we actually know about what goes on within the old stone walls of Lost Street Orphanage.

Purpose: Lost Street Orphanage is a group for a rather unique type of roleplay, as those who wish to play orphans usually don't choose to make their characters orphaned to give them a happy upbringing. It also adds to the general worldbuilding of Crookback bay.
