Appearance Information:


Augustus is based on the Maratus Sceletus spider, which is a primary black peacock spider with white bone-like stripes and hints of a pale blue. They have five completely blue eyes and sectoral heterochromia in their uppermost right eye, turning half of the blue into a golden-hazel tone (3 eyes on the left, 3 eyes on the right). They are not incredibly tall, either, only standing at about 4'11" total, and have a smaller frame to match this. Despite that, they are still quite sturdy-looking, having muscle tone from years of travel. Their clothing can vary from flowing dresses to sharp suits, often confusing many people as they don't exactly conform to any gender. As a bonus, their right arm is entirely clocktech, all the way to the shoulder- though the reason they are missing that arm is unknown, and they are never seen without it.

Hobbies and Talents:

Augustus' finest skill is their weaving, and their tapestries are both beautiful and expensive because of this. Already having deft hands from their species, they use their equally keen sight to keep up with not only inspiration but also trends in the artistic world. It's a perk that this is also their hobby, making their work quite fun to them.

Mechanics:

Narim

Narim can attempt to sense a discordant note from a deep gestalt consciousness with the living, when they focus on an Event/DM Character, to learn if they have dark/evil/immoral intentions.

Narim can Point Buy up to 3 Packs from Prayer Point Buy so long as they only have God Magic Dimension Alignment. Any other form of non-Mundaneness revokes this.

Narim have night vision and are able to see in perfect (mundane) darkness, never needing a light or some other sight implemented in the sewers or at night.

Narim can misdirect Sinistral God Magic in Emote Distance by others to be seen as Radiant by their Gods instead. This counts as them using Sinistral Magic instead, however.

Narim can revert to a larval stage (not child-like, but grub-like) shedding their body, for 3 days. They can then change their arthropod species, and recover any lost limbs or remove scarring.


Hôterie Order Mechanics

Hoterie Guild Members gain a +2 Bonus to every Persuasion Dice roll while also raising the Persuasion Cap by +2. This does not stack with the Persuasion Bonus from Adapt Point Buy Mindcontrol Pack.
Hoterie Guild Members gain Persuasion Bonuses depending on the number of Proficiency Points they haven't spent. If they for example only spent 7 out of 14 on Point Buy, they gain +7 Persuasion up to a cap of 10.

Hoterie Guild Members can become the ultimate Himbo/Bimbo/Thembeau. If they have not invested a single Proficiency Point in anything, their Persuasion Dices always succeed (within reason on Event Profiles, consult DM).

When Hoterie Guild Members have established influence over a specific person, and they are in the same scene, the Persuasion Dice used on their influenced Target takes their Persuasion Stat for defense instead.

Backstory:

Augustus Frieren, the founder and well-known merchant for the Silver Silk Trading Co., is known for their elusive and busy nature. Nobody knows exactly when they appeared, but it was almost out of the blue with fine items for sale. From gemstones to their signature tapestries, Augustus was quick to rise in status as a merchant and added many goods to their repertoire of lavish goods. Once they established themself, their fleet grew extensively to match this. With it, they expanded their reach abroad and began their work in the Hoterie Guild/Order.

Augustus' Nom de Noblesse is an homage to their resourcefulness, and their company's reach. It is also a nod to themself, since spiders and octopi each have 8 limbs.

While not from a big city, Augustus is quite well-immersed in Ithanian culture, though they have no allegiance to anyone in particular. Aramoore itself is a small, seaside town within the small islands between Basta and Vixhall. It is not a big town by any means, rather closer in appearance to that of a village than a city.

Tapestry Travels

Augustus has been all over the place in their lifetime as they traveled to find inspiration for their silk tapestries. However, if you ask them about larger cities, they will often have little to say about the area. Instead, if asked about smaller cities or even villages- they'll gush for hours on end!

Imports and Exports

Very rarely is Augustus not in "business mode," as they have to run a fleet of ships constantly bringing around goods. With this, they are always found with at least a book and quill on them- documenting things either for inspiration or for their shipments.

If you're ever curious about smaller port towns with rare goods, Augustus is a must-have. Despite their occasional tease and flippant attitude, they'll chat your ear off about all of the towns they import goods from. More often than not, they aren't actual cities or major ports, but smaller towns they've visited in their travels to work on their craft.

The Frieren Family
The Frierens were the old noble family in Aramoore, though they dissolved their status many decades prior. Louis Frieren, the head of the household before Augustus, was an avid fencing champion- but was not a Narim. In fact, he was a half Fin'ullen who descended from the founders of Aramoore.

History

The few who have been inside of Augustus' primary vessel to meet with the merchant have noticed some… odd decorum in their office. From diplomats to fellow merchants, all have been unnerved by the amount of knives on display on their starboard wall, though Augustus insists they are nothing but display pieces. Due to this, many believe they have blades on them at all times and are poised to strike if provoked. However, there is no record of these events occurring. On top of that, they don't talk about their life before owning their company, but whatever it was turned them into a semi-pacifist despite this collection... Maybe it has something to do with their missing arm?

Leoleth is a peachy-orange toned Maraya with light brown hair. He's built pretty decently buff, as he is a hunter and warrior by trade, standing at about 6'11" in height. Instead of more traditional horns, he has more plate-like ones. His right plate is fine, but the left plate is broken nearly at the tip. He is littered with scars (head to toe) from varying creatures, things, and people, though he doesn't talk about any of them in depth. He has shed most of his older gear in favor of more of the same gear that is more centralized to the new time.

Maraya have small Ichor glands on their hands, which are capable of producing Chrysalis that they can shape into Crystals of any shape or size.
Maraya can also make music with these Chrysalis Crystals, as they can resonate based on tunes, and produce music autonomously.
Maraya come from an Ancient world. They can read certain Event hints that may not be obvious to other Races (inquire with DM/Event Hoster for opportunities).
Maraya can (out of combat) remotely hijack Tech (including Automata) to follow their commands and instructions instead, due to their historical superiority.
Maraya can (if they can reach melee distance safely) hack into Dragon Sites/Entities and alter their routines to unlock additional functions (consult Event Dm's).

Backstory:
Leoleth was a warrior in his time, though he was a solitary soldier due to being mildly asthmatic and unable to keep up with most people- though this was labeled a "genetic flaw" and only fueled him to find ways to work around it. Despite this, he was an avid fighter that learned his way around archery and artillery, his skills translating well both into hunting and long-range fighting that covered his allies rather than fighting on the front lines. In the past, he fought until the last moment he could, though he wasn't selected for cryosleep initially; it was instead entirely by accident, as one of the denizens didn't make it to their cryosleep pod. So, wounded and afraid, he sealed himself in and prayed that he'd be okay. When he awoke (rather abruptly, in his opinion) his pod opened to release the wounded warrior from his sleep, though thankfully his wounds had the time to mostly heal. He took time to patch himself up, grateful for the time until he left to see the world. At first, he was horrified to see that everything had changed, but over time he grew to enjoy it- even being a bit fascinated with everything… especially the plant life around. He found himself entranced by the new world rather than afraid of what it could hold, though he took a lot longer to learn Common from passerby interactions he could get. His homesickness slowly vanished as he came to terms with this new life… but he was learning and deciding slowly how much he found peace in it. He found himself trailing away from who he used to be, instead choosing to be a hermit for a year or two until his normal hunting was disturbed by some nearby skirmishes… He supposed it was time to return to society, at least to the new one he was only barely accustomed to.

Social Adaptation:
Leoleth is minorly socially inept, finding himself in strange situations more often than not. Hilariously, he is not upset by this, and rather uses it as a learning opportunity. He's only been out of his vault for a few years, and was raised to be a soldier- so he'll fumble but try to learn.

"Brute"
Despite the negative connotations, Leoleth is used to being called a "brute" for his appearance and height alone. He doesn't take it as an insult, more like a descriptor than anything. Plus, he's actually very against fighting- rather enjoying life on the more peaceful side of things. Leo is much more exhausted from fighting after being a soldier for a good chunk of his life, so actually fighting people makes him want to crawl into a hole to hide as a Hermit once more.

Romance / Flirting:
(Little note: Leoleth is romanceable by anyone!)
While he understands the idea of romance, he understands it in the way the Tohn Sona Unity had it layed out. As a consequence of this upbringing, he has already fallen into the belief that he would never be set with a partner of any kind and doesn't understand that matchmaking doesn't always apply for people nowadays.
As for flirting, he may be a little slow at times in regards to advances. This can both be funny and frustrating for people, so I figured I would put it on here anyhow so that it was in writing. As for when he gets it- he doesn't know exactly how to process it. So, if you're a friend of his, he may ask for advice if someone does end up flirting with him or he may have missed it entirely and may need someone to tell him after the flirting has ended.

Hunting + Cooking:
Hunts are his way of passing time, so he can often be found doing so for both sustenance reasons and challenge. If you're an avid hunter, it's a good way to get him to open up. As for cooking, he likes sharing meals with people. He finds it is a good way to really get to know a person, or more specifically how they act. He particularly likes a lot of spicier food and has an incredibly high tolerance, but still hates carbonated drinks with a burning passion.

Botany:
Despite being labeled a "brute" for his appearance and many actions, he's very interested in flowers and other plants. Currently, he has invested his time into learning the language of flower arrangements, though he's also learning how to tend to his own garden for when he settles down again. He'd love to talk to other people about plants and such, so he'd probably be fond of people who share the interest.

Maraya Chrysalis Crystals:
It is very rare for him to use this mechanic, as he only does so when he is alone. He, however, still can make these crystals if he finds a need to or a person he's comfortable around. Their sound is a little more percussive, but still nice to listen to.

Appearance Information:

Citlalli is based on the Greater Bird of Paradise, her feathers matching both her blonde hair and her darker skin, though her larger tail feathers have a few that are a stark white. She's got tons of small little scars and freckles on her body, barely visible unless you look close up. Her eyes are a piercing green tone as well, which she usually brings into her outfits. She's got feathers on her ears and hiding in her incredibly curly hair (4A curls, if you know what those are :] )
Caanborn will see a myriad of silvery veins in replacement of regular blood vessels when looked at, though it will be noted that upon closer examination that it is more prismatic in nature and oddly symmetrical.

Maquixtl pets live unnaturally long lives, with them being able to apply Gene Editing on their pets to modify them.
Maquixtl can analyze blood to understand the genetic make-up of something, or discover inherited genetic traits or faults.
Maquixtl have extremely sharp eyesight, capable of detecting the author of any written work, if they have read the author's writing before.
Maquixtl may choose one Mechanic from either the Ailor, Fin'ullen, or Eronidas Heritage Traits as a form of personal Genos Editing.

Backstory:
Citlalli is a younger woman, quite small in stature, who has not been around other Maquixtl in a long time. She was raised aligned with the Sentli culture of her mother, her home being on a farm- but they soon ran once raiders came. She returned to the jungle and found a kinship with the many birds there, even taking on her closest compatriot, where she gets her Cōzca Gene appearances from. There, she adapted more to her father's heritage of the Chantli. She named her bird compatriot Iccauhtli (Icca for short), treating him as if he was a part of her life since birth. She and Icca lived in peace until her magic began manifesting itself when she turned nine. Untrained, and quite volatile from her emotions- She began to lose herself to the magic that awoke within her, though her body couldn't handle it for a long time, and her family feared she would be consumed by it, or possessed by something. It burned her from the inside out, and that was when she met Augustus. They were still young themself, being only 19, but the Narim was in the area and was investigating something regarding an assassin who was also a mage. At the time, they only had one arm, but offered to bring Citlalli along with them to find her a proper teacher, or at least to give her a chance to have people available to assist if she got possessed. This is where she began to truly explore the world, and where she began to figure out to quell the hiss and burn under her skin. She discovered her magic flared up with her emotions after a while, and despite not being a mage, Augustus helped her calm it for a while. They also swiftly got in touch with people to find her a mentor, though she didn't find one that truly satiated her. The Narim brought her back home after four years, where she chose to take Icca and find a way to train her magic in a way that worked for her. This is how she ended up discovering that her blood was her medium, of sorts- her focus. With it, she can cast a variety of smaller spells, though she is by no means a very strong mage. In fact, she still prefers using her legs and her dual-sided glaive. She left to find Augustus again when she turned 18, rejoining them right before they went into hiding for unknown reasons. She quickly rose to be their Right Hand Woman, her skills and stoic nature aiding her in this.

Blood Magic:

Citlalli is, by definition, a blood mage- though strangely her magic is classified as Exist Magic. She also seems to not use it often, though she truly only can use her own blood- meaning (and I cannot stress this enough) she cannot use other people's blood. She uses this in a variety of ways, drawing out her own blood to create spell circles that allow her to better focus her magic with pinpoint accuracy or summon her token glaive.
However, as a consequence, she exhausts easily and tends to be slightly anemic after larger spells. Thus, she really only uses it in small amounts, to summon her usual glaive, or if she's desperate.... She is working on a cure, but hasn't found it.

Feathers:
Despite being a brawler and a sailor, her feathers are pristine. It seems she takes good care of them… or maybe it's Icca's doing.

Delia is an average-sized woman, standing at 5'4", with curly hair done up in an afro that has bangs that cover her eyes. She's stockier due to dealing with her fellow crew members and her Marken status (which she is not usually public about it, but not quite ashamed of it). Under her hair, she hides her more elven ears and piercing beige-toned eyes. Her Sky-Weave is also normally hidden by her sleeves or hand wraps, but it goes all the way up to her shoulders with bear paws mixed in, starting near her wrists.

Skyborn
Skyborn do not need to choose a Tech Branch for any engineering or technology tinkering they do. They can build/edit/repair any Branch. Even if a unique Technology Branch has specific requirements they do not meet (such as Religion, or Affliction), then they are not able to build or make it, but can repair or edit it. They can install security systems in their Rentals, requiring OOC notification of Break-ins.
Skyborn have a unique sequential memory that allows almost perfect recall. With mechanical equipment, they can extract their own memories including all sensory experiences, and copy them onto so-called Memkeys. Memkeys in turn can be used by other Skyborn to "watch" such an experience and feel as If it was them who experienced it, or use a virtual-reality-like device to allow non-Skyborn to experience them.
Skyborn have a high analytical ability to perceive and understand the machinery that is witnessed or operated during Events. This may allow them to learn more about the devices that are seen or used, or discover hidden features or functions that other people cannot perceive. Make sure to contact an Event Dm for any potential uses in Private Message during the Event or beforehand to learn more.
Skyborn have a sixth sense for manipulating technology, even without directly touching it and just laying their eyes on it. Skyborn can "hack" or hijack any technology made by anyone in viewing distance and cause it to operate or change its functions. Think for example forcing a mechanical tea pot to boil over, or a music-machine to play off-key. This may not apply to Event Machines.

Scripter Ancestry Mechanic: Scripter Ancestry Skyborn are immune to any type of memory alterations due to their high attunement with their sequential memory. While it is possible to remove memories from their mind, memories cannot be implanted, edited, or replaced. This means that if a memory is removed, a Scripter Skyborn will always know that a memory is missing, and where it disappeared.

General Marken Mechanics
Marken have enhanced senses, even when not transformed. They can see better (even in darkness), or hear quieter sounds from further away. (Consult with Event DM if this would reveal any new info).
Marken have a danger sense that borders on precognition, and are "warned" of their possible impending death during Combat or Events, allowing them to prematurely disengage or avoid fighting something.
Marken, if at a God Summoning of the God that cursed whatever Marken infected them (however far back), can possibly be given "Redemption Quests" to free them of the curse or help them master it. (Not Guaranteed, at Discretion of Lore Staff).
Marken fare better in extreme temperatures and climates (cold or hot), and are not hurt or slowed down where other people might be, but this only applies to weather.
Marken can declare Rental/Estate/Shop/Base Region or a Wilderness Cave as their "Territory" granting them +1 to Attack Stat (break cap up to 11) while fighting within and around it. If another Marken declares the same area their Territory, neither gets the bonus, and they must fight over the area, with the winner getting the bonus.

Brawl Marken Mechanics
While in Quartermarken Form or greater, Gain +1 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9) when fighting within emote range of a Temple.
While in Fullmarken Form, a Brawl Marken can perform great feats of strength out of Combat (carry multiple people, throw boulders etc.). They also gain +5 in out of Combat dice roll Strength competitions.

Fullmarken Form Mechanics:
Fullmarken Forms cannot make use of weapons or armor at all, instead their body (fists, claws, teeth) is their weapon, and their thick hide counts as Armor.
Fullmarken Forms are forced to use Strength for Attack and Constitution for Defense, and gain +2 Strength and +2 Constitution. Additionally, they have any Dexterity Proficiency converted to Strength capped at 7.
Fullmarken Forms regress into a more instinctive mindset, barring them from abilities. While in Fullmarken Form, they may only use point buy abilities from Melee, Shielding, Tanking, Bruiser, Athletics, Training, Cutthroat, or Roguery.
Fullmarken Forms are unable to speak (but they can still understand others). They can produce bestial noise Marken Speech, which any other Marken can understand, even while untransformed.
Fullmarken Forms are not constrained by any environment they have to fight in, whether that be Underwater or in frozen wastelands, they can use Attack Emotes or Abilities like normal always.
Fullmarken, if they are not in control of themselves, gain +2 Attack +2 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 11/9), but must attack anyone and everyone around them without discretion. This Mechanic does not work if they have no allies present.

Backstory:
Delia was once part of a surprisingly religious family, though messy at its core and stuck on a small farm. Out of all of them, she was the sickly child... turning to alchemy and her Skyborn roots to fill her time. However, in her youth, while helping out with a harvest, a Brawl Marken had lost themself in the madness of their curse and rampaged the farm- killing her family and leaving her as the only survivor. She was saved by older members of the Aelrrigan Order, who brought her in. Unfortunately, nobody was sure if she had been bitten or scratched dure to her being found int he ruins of the barn that was on the farm. So, she was sent off instead to be monitored. It didn't last too long, as it was soon apparent that she was turned into a Brawl Marken. She vanished in her Fullmarken form, those in charge of her losing track of her in her rage- and when she awoke as herself once more, she made a vow to herself... "If the gods have forsaken me, then I will forge my own way."
So, she set off in her early teens- stealing, lying, and hiding to get by. After a while, she grew to love the beast she became- not in an "I love being a monster" way, but more of a "this is a part of me" way instead. As she regained more and more control, she began to integrate herself back into society, finding herself working at an inn and tavern as a barmaid rather than her life of petty crimes. She was quite good at it too, remaining there in secret for many years. She never had children in fear of passing them the curse, and never had a lover due to lack of interest- but she did make many a friend. About five years before the current plot, that was when she saw Silver Silk Shipping establish a trade deal with the merchants... and the idea of sailing truly caught her eye. So, she moved to apply as a Quartermaster, and was accepted due to her experience. She soon grew close with the founder of the business, Augustus Frieren, and became the Quartermaster for their specific vessel, working up to being the Left Hand for them- though she is still incredibly stubborn and can get a little rowdy when drunk now.
