The style varies, but she keeps it down per request of multiple family members. If not worn down, it is often worn in a bun, ponytail, or some elaborate braid. She has fairly pale skin, keeping that way through various methods, mostly the use of foundation and lack of tanning. She has baby blue eyes, a common feature among the du Vauquelin family. She also has full lips, often lined by red lipstick though the color really isn’t set in stone. Bodily Beauty- Although Laverne is primarily a combat-based person, she has very smooth and curvy features. She is built to move freely and gracefully, seeing that her combat method consists mainly of dodging and jabbing. Because of this, she has rather large hips and thighs, most of her muscle down in her legs rather than her arms. She has no body hair, she makes sure of this regularly, it is very rare to see her with any. She has multiple scars along her arms and legs, mostly due to her mother’s hard and persistent training with Thin Blades. Fashion- With her diverse dresses, makeup, and jewlry; it is safe to say that Laverne dresses like a typical Ithanian matriarch. She tends to wear various shades of blue and orange, though it isn’t uncommon to see her in something else if it makes her look better. Her jewelry is fairly plain, often gemstone necklaces, bracelets, and rings. She is not shy of having a little bit extraordinary and odd bits of jewelry, especially in her hair. Vocal Info- Like her mother, Laverne has a very soft and gentle yet stern voice. She is an excellent commander, and her voice proves such in her tones. When she is angry, the first sign is the tone of her voice and then her physical gestures. This is the same logic for sadness as well. Whenever she is flustered or excited, her voice can and will reach higher pitches if not controlled. How would Laverne express Happiness and Contentedness? Laverne often hides her emotion, though when she is happy or content, she tends to be more laid back. It’s also noticeable that she takes her duties as du Vauquelin matriarch a little more laxed. How would Laverne respond to experiencing Fear? She often hides behind people, always trying to get out of it instead of conquering it. She is not too good at facing fears on the battlefield either, doing the same. How would Laverne respond to experiencing Stress? With her various family members, Laverne is keen to giving up her stress to her sisters. She finds it very therapeutic and helpful. How does Laverne view Law and Authorities? Laverne feels that the Law serves a purpose, but when it doesn’t line up with what she wants to do she’ll break it. Not if the consequences could get her physically injured, only minor crimes. How does Laverne feel about other Races? Allars are demons, Kathars are worse. She hates those two the most. Varrans and Neflin are beneath me, yet Yanar are good. Laverne is a very devout Unionist, and she is quick to defend it. She does her prayers often but rarely visits the cathedral due to lack of time in her day. She does not know much about other religions, but figures that they’re all neutral besides void worship. She despises void worship How does Laverne feel about Arcane and Magic in the world? Laverne dislikes magic strongly, feeling that most if not all magic stems from the void in some way. To put it short, she tries to avoid magic to her best ability. How does Laverne feel towards family? Laverne loves all of her family members to death, going to her sisters especially with all of her problems. Considering she is the matriarch, she would die for her family and is keen on improving it to the best of her abilities. What is Laverne most proud about herself? With her amazing combat skills, Laverne is extremely proud of her prowess in thin blades and thanks her mother everyday for it. She is also very proud of her hair and how it maintained. What motivates Laverne to move forward and better in life? Going along with family, she believes that it is her duty to take care of them to the best of her ability. The need they have for her wakes her up in the morning. What is Laverne’s biggest insecurity? Laverne’s biggest insecurity is the fact that she cannot provide for the family to the fullest extent. Although she tries her hardest, there is always a nagging feeling in her that she is not doing something right. What is Laverne’s biggest fear? Laverne’s biggest fear is definitely disease. She cannot even fathom the idea of getting horribly sick and that is what leads to her demise. She cannot bear pain too well either, this is a factor in her fear of disease. Age 0-10; 277-287 A.C Laverne was born to Naeva du Vauquelin in the beginning days of April, and she was born with a twin. Her twin died shortly after she was born though, crushing her mother but also making Laverne one of the more babied children in the family. She was by far her mother’s favorite, even after the youngest son was born into the family. Laverne was a rather peaceful child, playing in the wine fields with her sisters and learning basic combat maneuvers with her mother. Her mother got a license to teach the Griffer form from the school and immediately began homeschooling her daughter. She did not have the heart to send Laverne off to school with people that may bully her. However, her mother was strict and did not fail to cut her daughter repeatedly if she made a mistake. This all happened at around the age of eight. By age nine, the Chrysant war had broken out and Naeva was swift to get the family in it’s affairs. Laverne was a domestic servant until she was twelve, when her mother employed her to fight. Age 10-20; 287-297 A.C She was a servant to the soldiers at the ages of nine through twelve, but when her twelfth year hit, things changed. Her mother approached her with two crysteel thin blades, giving them to her and allowing her to fight. Laverne was not very good at first, but as the war progressed she got progressively better. She never had a high kill count, preferring to just knock out the enemy instead of actually killing them. Though she was not scared to if necessary. At the end of the war, when Laverne was nineteen, her mother suffered a fatal wound from a Cro-Allar which caused her death. Laverne inherited her mother’s blacksteel blades, but she was too shell shocked to continue much. Then, her father stepped in and pulled all of the strings of being a matriarch in his favor for a good three years. During this time, Laverne was so depressed she could care less about a man running the family through her, she just wanted her mother back. During the Ranger Crisis, her father was assassinated through a strange cut that no one could be blamed for. The cut was poisoned and it killed him within hours during his sleeping. This then allowed for Laverne to truly become a matriarch at the age of nineteen. During the next couple of years, she would prove to be a neutral leader. Age 20-30; 297-307 A.C The next ten years of her life is when she started to explore Regalia and what it had to offer. She began making alliances with some lesser Regalian families in 300 A.C and eventually created a space in which she could move there. She was about to move when the Songaskian War broke out, she stayed at her home because she believed that it would be too dangerous if the Songaskians won. At home, she would improve the lives of their Varran slaves and the men there drastically, making her remembered as one of the more empathetic matriarchs. After the Songaskian Wars, she and most of her family moved to Regalia in order to gain alliances and expand their trade across the borders. To this day she lives in Regalia, and continues to attempt to make strides in politics, the military, and the beauty industry with the help of her family.
