Basic Information Basic information has 4 main bullet list points, follow the template below. It should give the reader the basic breakdown of your character's immediate background. Laeyns is a 23 year old female Ailor Father: Tindre Crawley, dead Mother: Laura Crawley, dead Brother: Taenor Crawley, alive and is 27 Brother: Maercus Crawley, alive and is 25, twin to Fredwin. Brother: Fredwin Crawley, alive and is 25, twin to Maercus. She lives at her home at Riverbend4 and also spends time with her brother Taenor at his house on Haute Road. To prove to her mother that she can be a well mannered and talented girl. (She pretty much wants her mother to look down on her and be proud.) Visual Information Body Description Body Description has 3 main bullet list points, follow the template below. These bullet points should give the reader a good mental image of what your character looks like. Laeyns is pretty much the size of an average girl, except a little taller. She is 5 foot 6 inches and weighs 136 pounds. She has really strong legs, but is by no means very muscular. Laeyns is a very pale young lady. She has no scars on her face or her body at all. This is probably due to very protective parents and siblings. Laeyns has long hair on her head, but everywhere else on her body is hairless. Head Description Head description has 4 main bullet list points, follow the template below. These bullet points should give the reader a good mental image of what your character's face looks like. Laeyns face is pretty normal proportions she has a ovalish face and has high cheekbones. Her lips are also very full. Laeyns has dark green eyes, that sometimes show a hint of blue in them. Her normal expression is a one that makes her appear like she is always lost which is rather false, since she is very smart and picks up stuff easily. Laeyns has long hair on her head, which is the only place where she has hair on her body. It is colored dirty blonde, but gets lighter the more she is outside. She usually styles it by just letting fall on her shoulders and back. But will occasionally for different events have it styled up. Clothing and Accessories Clothing and accessories has 2 main bullet list points. This point is optional, but still recommended. This list should give the reader a good impression of what your character usually wears. For Laeyns outfit she wears a Calemberger style dress. Which the main color is purple but has some stylings in green as well. The outfit is made from fine expensive silk and is pretty tight fitting. Laeyns has a necklace she will occasionally wear, but she does not like wearing it too much, it was her mother's before she died. It is a beautiful golden necklace that is very detailed. Behavior Information Personality Traits Personality Traits is a bit of an odd one out of the mix. It requires 8 bullet points that have to be picked. Follow the instructions below. Curious: One of the defining characteristics of someone of the Crawley family is that they are highly curious. This is no exception when it comes to Laeyns Crawley. She loves finding out about anything and everything that is happening in Regalia, and all of Ailoria. Being curious helps her meet new people and really become acquainted with them. Often times being curious will get her involved with someone else. Such as she will often start asking someone a question and then the next day she is invited to dinner from the person she just started talking to. (Next day not to be taken literally.) Quick: Laeyns has been very quick to pick things up ever since she was a little girl. This does not mean she picks up everything and is good at it, but she finds it easy to pick up a new thing and get rolling with it. Change has always been something she can handle, unlike her brother Taenor. She often uses this trait when she is trying to to connect two and two together, especially when it comes to trying to connect what are two people's relations with each other and such. Charming/charismatic: Laeyns is a "charmer" of sorts, she always can get someone to be a friend. As well as do what she wants, she knows how to work in special ways to get what she wants and she most always succeeds. Where someone might call this a "bad" trait. I would consider it as a very good one. She can use her personality, manners, and looks to make people bend to her will. Some people, especially woman can see right through her charm and charisma but most people think that she is just very charming and nice. Ambitious: Laeyns is rather ambitious and is always trying to get "higher" and become better. Part of this was ingrained into her when her mother was giving her "lessons" and has stayed with her ever since. Appearance, standing, and wealth are the things she always tries to grow and better herself in. Snooty: Laeyns like her brother Taenor is a snob. She looks down upon the commoners and disliked getting too close to them. But she will talk to them occasionally. This is a bad trait because it makes her miss out on meeting very interesting people. She does not like talking to second class citizens and will always be partial when talking to a Ailor or a elf. Like she will always side with the Ailor in an argument even if the Elf is right. She also hates being considered "low-blooded" or a "commoner'. Manipulative: This is somewhat the same as being charming except this is using her "charms" in more scheming and sly ways. Laeyns not just manipulates people to get what she wants but occasionally she will manipulate people for her own pleasure. She especially loves manipulating commoners. Being so manipulative makes her seem cruel at times and she sort of is cruel but when she is thinking about manipulating someone she is not really thinking about the other person. She is just thinking about how fun it is and stuff, not how this will make the other person feel. Jealous: Although she knows she is from an upper class family, she is still not happy with her standing. She always wants more, this makes her very envious of the nobles and their titles. As well as their estates in Regalia. She even gets a little jealous of upper class families that are closer friends to nobles than she is. This jealousy makes her try to get close to nobles and try to befriend them. She just feels that keeping them closer to herself will help make her not so jealous. Stubborn: Laeyns always needs to have her way, and she will not step down for anything. She is always going to stick with what she wants and is going to stand her ground till she gets her way. This can be quite troublesome especially for her brothers, aunts, and uncles. When talking to nobility this is also a downside, she will always stand up for what she believes, so when talking to nobility she will always usually end up arguing with them like she would with her siblings or commoners. Compassion: This is a weakness for her, especially in combat. She is not one to go on a blood lust and just murder someone without a second thought, she usually will let her emotions get into play when fighting someone. So if someone were to plea for mercy then she would fall for it then he could attack her. Likes Likes is similar to Personality Traits above. You are required to pin up at least 4 likes that show hobbies, favorite activities, or things your character likes in general. Tread into detail with the likes how and why they are what they are. Laeyns loves riding horses which is rather fitting since her family breeds horses as a business. She finds riding her horses through the woods rather relaxing and has a huge respect for her horses. She has also raised one of her horses from birth. Decorating is something that Laeyns loves, in fact her house in Regalia is never quite finished. She is always adding more things to her house and it seems to never get done. Reading is something that Laeyns adores, she finds it very interesting to sort of become someone else and really experience their life through the book. Her whole family likes to read, so it could be considered a family trait. Although it is not the most lady like thing to do, Laeyns likes to go hunting with her brother. She is pretty good with a bow and loves to hunt using one. Her father taught her to use a bow even though her mother disapproved of the whole thing. Dislikes Dislikes is similar to Likes above. You are required to pin up at least 4 dislikes that show activities your character hates, things they dislike etc. Tread into detail with the Dislikes how and why they are what they are. Laeyns dislikes being around commoners, she feels that they are just lazy, dirty, folk. This does not mean she will not talk to them, but she will always be keeping her distance. But she prefers to talk to people of the upper class. Laeyns hates being babied by her 3 older siblings as well as her aunts and uncles. She hates being the youngest in the family. She feels no one trusts her to be safe on her own. One of the main reasons she bought her own house and left her brothers is because she wanted to prove to them that she can be responsible and live on her own. Beer is something that Laeyns Crawley detests, she finds it rather bitter and she only likes sweet wines. She feels beer does not really have a taste other than being bitter and she just absolutely hates it. Having to wait around or just sit with her brother while he is having a conversation is something that she hates. So she while very often out of no where just up and leave and go back home. This seems to annoy and embarrass her brother Taenor. Abilities and Disabilities Strengths Strengths is a highlighted bullet list that condenses information from both abilities as well as personality. It is recommended to aim for 3 "main" strengths, embodying 1. Ability oriented strength 2. Personality oriented strength 3. Mental oriented strength. You can however add more. Laeyns is good at using the bow. She got her training from her father and a man that her father paid to train her. She loves using a bow and it is really a passion that she has. She trained extremely hard on perfecting her aim as a girl and still retains her good shot. But she has not practiced in quite some time, especially since she lives in Regalia and spends most of her days conversing with people. Ambition is something that she shares with Taenor, she is always wanting to approve her public appearance and standing. As well as making sure her family and company is always getting better. Being ambitious drives her to be her best always. Being a quick learner is something that Laeyns has been since she was a little girl. She just picks things up easily. Whether that is a lesson in school. Or trying to understand what people are talking about around her. Weaknesses Weaknesses works the same way as Strengths, in that it requires an Physical oriented weakness, a Personality oriented weakness and a combat oriented weakness. You can however add more. Laeyns is sort of clumsy with her hands. She is prone to knocking things over with them, this is very frustrating for her since she is always striving to be perfect in every aspect. Laeyns is VERY indecisive whether that pertains to her wondering if she should talk to someone, or what kind of flower she should use as the center piece for her dining table. Laeyns always never knows when to make her move on an opponent. This is not that bad since she rarely fights since she is a girl, but when she was learning self defence this was an issue. Combat Styles Being on the defensive is what Laeyns chooses to do when fighting. Which she has not fought in several years since she is a grown woman and it is not very proper to be fighting. She usually is very sly with her moves and will sometimes use words to distract or to lessen the opponents like "attention". She will sometimes start talking to him and distract him then will start and make her move quickly. When going up against women, she will usually just pull their hair and bite, the typical "cat fight." The point of the Life Story is not to give a novella long list of events that happened in the character's life, it's supposed to just create a summary of the person's life, while keeping a keen eye on explaining the previous points. The life story is supposed to tie together and provide background information as to why and how the person became what they are. Childhood: Laeyns Crawley was born the youngest of four children, also being the only daughter in the family. She was born into a wealthy family who lived on their estate in Ithania. Her parents bred and trained war horses, as well as top quality horses for leisure. They also owned a mining company that sold ores and stone. Laeyns' mother was a woman who was raised in an upper class family and demanded that Laeyns was a proper young woman. But Laeyns loved to go hunting even from a young age and was rather good at shooting with a bow. Her mother protested that she was to quite hunting but Laeyns father felt that it was alright for her to do it. Laeyns grew up riding horses and really grew to respect and love them exceedingly. Middle Years: Laeyns started her real training of manners and such when she turned 13. Her mother put all of her time and effort into teaching Laeyns manners, and like most things Laeyns picked up on how to act in public rather quickly. In her teen years Laeyns did not see her father for a month at a time sometimes because he had business to take care of. But near the end of her teens her father returned home and stayed until an accident occured. The accident was when her father and mother were in a mine that they owned and showing Laura around when it collapsed. It was believed that the structure that held up the mine was not built properly and that is why it collapsed. It killed Laeyns' father and mother and left her brother Taenor in charge of the companies and estates. Soon after the mining company was sold off and they kept the horse trading company. Young Adulthood: After Taenor and his brothers got the horse breeding company expanded and twice the size that it was when their parents were around. Taenor decided to move to Regalia, and took Laeyns with him. They contacted their relatives first and got them to find them a house. Their relatives found a perfect house for them on Haute road and so then they packed their belongings and prepared to catch a ship to Regalia. Their trip was not very long but they did encounter one storm that made Laeyns rather sea-sick. They left Maercus and Fredwin to take care of the company back home. But after hearing about Taenor's and Laeyns' stay in Regalia, they got Taenor to hire someone to manage the estate and moved Maercus and Fredwin to Regalia. As of now Laeyns has been making many acquaintances with the upper class of Regalia. Lately she has just been hanging around the tavern and talking to her acquaintances, other than that she has not been up to much lately. Other than just chit-chatting she is trying to find herself a husband which seems to be harder than she thought it would be. She is starting to become more and more flirtations since she really would like to get married soon. She also has been hosting some dinners and inviting her friends, as well as other families who are friends with the Crawleys over to her new house.
I am reviewing this character! Now I love a husband-seeking, generic woman as much as the next... oh, I don't. She needs a goal other than "finding a husband who's wealthy". Personality traits are a bit short; look at your charismatic one; I need all the traits at that length, if not more. Weaknesses are a bit flimsy, so I'd like you to add one more, something combat oriented. You assume in combat that it's a he that attacks her, so fix that little error, and "blocks all attacks" should be rephrased. She'd have to attempt such actions, hmm? Try and put a bit more detail into the life-story. Explain better how she came to Regalia and her life therein. Tag me when you're done Progress: Pending!
