    Values

Protect the weak at all costs.
Remain loyal to your sisters and brothers.
Uplift those strong of heart, spirit and have self value and pride.
Those who are the most confident in themselves reach higher places of authority.
Strength is measured not through strength of arm, but through willpower, courage and spirit.

Never condone the Exeiiya for they are traitors to the faith and good will of the tribesman.
Do not tolerate Voidlings and their activities.
Degrade and abandon those who wallow in squalid self pity and degrade themselves.
Those who believe themselves guilty of sin often are.

    Tribe History

Once active under a band within the main wing of the T’jokan Tribe located in the Avanth Hortutor, the La Fra’ae emerged in the midst of a crisis; a civil war sparked by the Royal Encampment massacre of 306 AC. The self proclaimed leader, Fae’ess’alloa Syll’bess’aos created the clan under the impression that only those who were closest to her and her immediate family would remain loyal. Admittedly, the viciousness and passion of the Hortutor Avanthar grew to become a severe detriment to both individual and group. While the leaders of the La Fra’ae’s prior band and tribe struggled to maintain power over their people and proclaimed lands, war continued to become a severe detriment to both individual and group. While leaders, including those within the La Fra’ae clan, struggled to maintain power over their people and proclaimed lands, war continued to rage across the five states. With chieftains occupied, personal feuds erupted from the chaos in bloody aftermaths, leaving behind further fractures of clans, bands, and tribes alike.

The La Fra’ae clan, a group barely consisting of three dozen members (nearly fifteen of which being Syll’bess’aos blood alone), was shown to be anything but untouchable when it came to personal feuds. The clan suffered losses significant to their small community, specifically when branches of the Syll’bess’aos line began to squabble amongst each other, driving away few of those who had come with the La Fra’ae. With no end in sight to the chaos that reigned across the five states, the La Fra’ae began to travel across the plains, only to hear by word of mouth that the Avanth Himvatheer had found peace. Despite the T’jokan tribe’s history of violence, outward ferociousness and ‘screamer’ traditions, the sect took the opportunity of potentially integrating into foreign Himvatheer society.

Integration immediately grew to become one of the biggest challenges the La Fra’ae clan would face. Their displacement with traditions, ideologies, and culture even amongst their own race was something that required change and often improvement in order to survive. Despite the likely possibility of sustained stability, safety, and betterment of the La Fra’ae, some members would prove stubborn. These Avanthar would then split off into their own sect to reunite with the band they’d left prior, purely clinging onto the hope of having the life they had just months prior. At this point, the majority of the clan were merely Syll’bess’aos family members which led Fae’ess’alloa into making the decision of integrating into the Ravän tribe weeks after stepping foot into the Himvatheer.

In current times, most of the original La Fra’ae clan continue to reside in the Avanth Himvatheer. They have since resigned the majority of their Hortutor traditions into various rituals or resigned them to special occasions. These traditions included the usage of their traditional war garb, now only used for prayer or loosely in everyday wear. Adaptation has been proven to be beneficial to the clan and it is widely believed that these newfound ideologies will only strengthen them further.

    Clan Customs

Much like the majority of Avanthar, it is a habit to refer to someone as ‘Stranger’ prior to knowing their name. Some members of the tribe still prefer to use ‘Stranger’ even after knowing the person’s name, then referring to that person as ‘Stranger [name]’; Stranger Cao’ess, Stranger Ingemar, etc.

Physical contact is reserved mostly for close friends and those who are considered family, although if it is required to perform a ‘handshake’ for whatever reason, it is custom to grasp the midst of the opposing person’s forearm - this does not involve bobbing the hands/forearms in a shake, it is merely a brief grasp in greeting or mutual respect.

To leave the clan is the ultimate disrespect. Those who make the decision to leave will make that decision to leave permanently, although there have been exceptions albeit rare.

    Traditional Garb

Traditional garb became frequently used after the La Fra’ae clan merged into a band of the Ravän tribe. Heavy influence from the Avanth Hortutor, the clan’s homeland, began to present itself in the form of dyed bison leathers, particularly bracers, belts, and bands of varying colors. These leather garments would often be decorated by copper bells accompanied by carved metal symbols, often in relation to the Strong Six, although these customs only arose in late 306 AC.
Older customs included feathers, often collected from birds of prey, made into intricate head dresses that would be used before battle, their purpose being to strike fear into the enemy. Current customs have almost entirely aclanoned this tradition bar their use in prayer or once a year memorial marking the date of the Royal Encampment massacre. Warpaint has the same customs, although it can be worn casually.
Much like casual garb, the Cielothar of the La Fra’ae clan would often be responsible for creating patterned clothing specifically for prayer and rituals.

    Everyday Garb

Much like traditional garb, the usage of feathers, warpaint, and leathers are used. The only differences are that feathers are not to be worn as headdresses, but rather made into earrings or hung from a necklace pendant.
Warpaint is optional and may be worn casually, although to many of the clan’s Avanthar, tattoos or scarification will be preferred given it’s permanency and ease.
Leathers are also a staple in everyday wear, specifically bracers and belts of varying sizes. Leather is often not dyed or altered in many ways in order to specify the difference between prayer garb and casual wear.
Throughout the years, the usage of Cielothar beads and jewelry became commonplace and incorporated into everyday wear. Patterned clothing, specifically those with intricate swirling patterns tastefully placed, made their way into the La Fra’ae wardrobe. La Fra’ae men and women were not exempt from these new Cielothar styles, nor were they exempt from the usage of full robes or half robes; Robes akin nearly to Atalarian style.
