La Croix Écarlate is the official houseguard of the Ithanian noble house Valeur, it was issued by current patriarch Stéphan Valeur as a response to the previous failures within the house to rely purely on the city guards for protection.
The guard is issued a uniform of leather, tabard, various plate- and chain-armour parts and a crimson beret, for each member, under the rights acquired through the Fighters Guild, which Stéphan Valeur partially runs himself.

Insignia
Lion pins of different metal depending on the guard's rank within will be given to the houseguards. Guardsmen will receive silver lions, captains will receive golden lions, the Commander, which may only be held by a Valeur family member or noble vassal, receive a pale-golden lion with a star background.
Codes and addressing
Within the houseguard the proper way to address the different ranks is dependent on their pin, an example of this would be a member trying to communicate with a Captain (golden lion) whose name is Thaddée Baschet, by saying "Golden Lion Baschet…"

Rights
- Rights to wear A cuirass/chest-plate of plate armour of any kind (arms/neck/head may not be armoured)
- Rights to wear a chain-mail skirt/hip-guard, no further armour (legs/feet may not be armoured)
- The right to bear weapons in open carry, but not military grade.
- The right to defend any member of a Noble household from aggression.
- The right to perform citizen arrests on attackers against said Nobles.
- The right to transfer citizen arrests to City Guard Authorities.
