He has a new official backstory! I am just too lazy to edit this image.
The Liu clan, hailing from the outskirts of Huo-Chang, is a poor family living on plains and farmland. Their homes at the bottom of a hill seem large due to the family's size. Despite strictly worshiping dragons, they lack any Archons. The clan is led by their old and wise grandfather. However, they have a poor reputation, with many members being alcoholics, gamblers, and con artists, skilled in manipulation and deceit. They are not known for intelligence beyond psychological manipulation and often struggle with bureaucratic exams. Most neglect their physical health, tending to be skinny.

Majin was never the brightest, particularly when it came to exams. He failed miserably, drowning in sorrow as his family idolized Kailang, while he was merely another Liu outcast. With Kailang gone, Majin devoted himself to his physical health, growing stronger with each passing day, even at such a tender age.
Though Majin never experienced battle firsthand, he began to grasp the darker aspects of village life. His strength increased daily as he trained. In the village, he met Ayaren, an older Sihai who introduced him to the art of war fans, sparking a deep love within Majin. He spent countless late afternoons with Ayaren, crafting and mastering these beautiful yet deadly weapons. When Ayaren deemed Majin's fans ready, he began teaching him how to wield them. For days, months, and years, while Kailang remained absent, Majin perfected the skills Ayaren imparted. His combat style evolved into a fluid, brutal dance, a series of twists and turns, marking him as a true close-ranged combatant, and beautifully so.
During this time, Majin befriended two girls, Suyin and Liliao. The three, of the same age, became inseparable. Liliao hailed from a family of archon-borns who lived at the village's highest point. She was always in a crane stance, her family known for their cruelty as they ruled the village. Yet, Liliao herself was sweet, loved dearly by both Majin and Suyin. Throughout his youth and teenage years, Majin spent every day with them or training his body.
Years passed, and Kailang returned from the army through exile. By then, Majin had become a capable fighter, more skilled and respected than many in the Liu clan. Though now idolized by his family, he still revered his brother, just as he had in his youth. The two spoke, and Kailang recounted the horrors of the Jade Wall, lamenting the sacrifices he and other Sihai had made. He questioned why the dragons did not use their own powers, leaving the Sihai to be cut down instead. Majin took his brother's words to heart, for Kailang was his greatest idol, the elder brother he always looked up to. But come morning, Kailang was gone. This disappearance plunged Majin back into deep sorrow. He blamed himself, recognizing that the family had shown Kailang little affection upon his return, and Majin had done nothing to stop it, enjoying for the first time being in the family's favor.
Their parents and grandfather received several letters from Kailang, burning them before Majin could see. Convinced his brother had abandoned him, Majin grew distraught and redoubled his efforts to hone his strength.
Majin was oblivious to Kailang's crimes and murders, kept in the dark by his family's efforts. One final letter came from Kailang, yet Majin remained unaware. The family responded:
"Kailang,
You have brought great dishonor to the Liu clan, and you wish for us to join you in heresy? You are blind to the golden light Majin has brought to the family, the potential we now have to rise above our meager status. He is strong and honorable, the son we dreamed of. He is most ashamed of you, for you are unworthy of his respect."
Not long after, chaos erupted in the village. Majin, Suyin, and Liliao were playing near the archon family's home when Liliao's brother, Shalaun, began to insult Majin for Kailang's crimes. The girls, distressed, had vowed to keep this from Majin. But Shalaun's words, and the girls' expressions, revealed the truth. Hurt and enraged, Majin confronted Shalaun.
In that horrible moment, Shalaun, his grin twisted and murderous, appeared behind Liliao. Though loved by her clan for her unique connection to the dragons, Shalaun envied her. With a swift motion, he decapitated her. Screams echoed as Majin, in a blind rage, attacked Shalaun. During the fight, Majin's vision filled with the image of a red sun in a pitch-black sky: a dream, his first, and a confusing one. When he regained consciousness, he stood over Shalaun's dead body, surrounded by horrified villagers. Convinced Majin was no different from Kailang, the Liu clan's grandfather exiled him without remorse.
With little more than a fleeting farewell to his now pregnant wife, Suyin, and a dreadful goodbye from Ayaren, Majin fled, leaving behind his village and the life he had once cherished. In his hands were three feathers from Liliao's corpse, which are now forever tied in his hair. He blamed the archon and dragons for his best friend's death. Convinced they are all corrupt and served for the wrong reasons. Abandoned by all, he vanished into the unknown.
As he ran, Majin stumbled further from his village, deeper into the forest. His feet turned raw, and his clothing was dirtied and shredded. He collapsed, and just as he fell, he glimpsed someone approaching, eyes red and haunting. When he awoke, he found himself bound in chains, surrounded by those same red eyes. Fear gripped him as he realized they were vampires. The young man, now around sixteen, pleaded desperately for freedom, but his cries were met with refusal. Though too young to be turned or serve as a mere blood bag, the vampires saw potential in his physique and strength, intending to utilize it. Initially resistant, threats of death forced Majin into reluctant compliance, becoming a mundane soldier for the sanguine.
At first, Majin believed the Desprince and his group were a small band of vampires, but within days, he realized he was captured by a vampire army, their new toy. His initial assignments involved simple bounties, and he refused to kill. However, as missions grew increasingly gruesome, he was beaten into submission. Nightly, he dreamt of the red sun against the dark sky, interpreting this as a sign of his destined path. Over the next year, Majin transformed into a killer, his goodness shredded, forced into a monstrous existence. Tales of the Liu brothers spread through the Sihai kingdoms, their divergent yet equally dark paths drawing parallels. Unaware of each other's actions, both were deemed evil, one by force, the other by destiny.
On Majin's eighteenth birthday, the Desprince entered his chambers and ordered his kin to restrain him. Majin did not resist; he embraced the infection, feeling he was already one of them. As the Desprince's teeth sank into his skin, Majin was plunged into a dream realm.
---
In his vision, the red sun burned high against the black sky, casting an eerie glow over everything. A mighty crane flew toward the sun,and as it got closer, the sun started to bleed, dark streams of blood pouring down like a horrible waterfall.
A wave of crimson blood surged toward Majin. He turned to run, his heart pounding in terror. His feet slipped in the sticky blood, the ground slick and dangerous. The air was thick with the smell of iron and decay, choking him as he tried to breathe. His lungs burned as he gasped for air.
As he ran through the darkness, a figure appeared, Liliao. Her hands were outstretched, her familiar bright smile a small hope in the gloom. He called her name, his voice desperate. He moved closer, hope mixed with dread. But as he reached her, her smile twisted into a horrifying, evil frown, her eyes dark and filled with hate.
Suddenly, with a sickening crack, her head rolled off her neck, the cut flesh ragged and bloody. It hit the ground with a wet thud. He stared in horror at her severed head, its face twisted with anger, eyes glaring at him with fury.
The head's mouth opened, letting out a bloodcurdling scream. "Fallen! Betrayer! Bloodhound! You doomed us all!" it shrieked, the words stabbing into him like knives. Majin's knees gave way, and he collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground, curling into a ball. He covered his ears, trying to block out the screams, but they only grew louder, echoing in his mind.
The severed head rolled closer, its screams blending with his deepest fears and guilt. Majin squeezed his eyes shut, his own screams joining hers in a terrible chorus. The darkness pressed in around him, smothering and absolute.
---
When he finally woke up, he was drenched in sweat, his body shaking uncontrollably. The vision clung to him, a nightmare that wouldn't fade. He faced the Desprince again, his breath ragged, heart still racing in terror, the echoes of Liliao's screams haunting him.
From that day, Majin was no longer recognized by his given name. He took the name Kurahe, the Black Crane, as his own.
Despite his deep hatred for the dragons, born from their apathy toward the suffering of their people, Majin bore a giant dragon tattoo. This tattoo was a mark of defiance, a reminder of the power he sought to overturn, a symbol of the strength he had attained despite the dragons' neglect.
Kurahe became a greater vampire, respected and favored by the Desprince and his comrades. It was not until he was twenty-two that he heard of Kailang's exploits in Regalia. Bidding farewell to his sanguine kin, Kurahe set out to reunite with his brother after so many years, unaware of the fate that awaited him.
