OOC DM Preface: This information is part 3 of the Viridian Crypt Dungeon prelim quest for the Knight System, which arose as a consequence to roleplay interactions. Part 1 can be found here, while part 2 was hosted in-game to those who signed up prior. Unlike the past two parts, this progression post is public knowledge, and anyone can be assumed to have heard the notices from the various Knightly Orders. More details about the full Knight system will follow in the coming days, with the official kickoff projected to be near the end of this week, or the start of the next.
Following the departure of the Knights from the Viridian Crypt a few weeks ago, there was an eerie silence coming from the Viridian Order. While under normal circumstances, no response from the Order made sense, given that the Elder Council tended to focus solely on internal matters, with only a limited care to the political affairs around them. However, given that it was the Viridian Primae who had asked a loose band of Knights to investigate the old Viridian Castle's Crypt, everyone expected that some response beyond just a random Sergeant's chest of training swords would be received. And yet, despite Wintertide and New Year festivities winding down, no word came from the Primae or the Elder Council as 308 turned into 309, and the early Spring air common to the Crown Isle melted the snow which froze the air around the thousands of individuals who called Regalia home.
It was therefore a surprise when in the wee hours of the evening, a lone Viridian Knight rode to Roddman and Brothers, a notable printing house within the City of Regalia often used by the Viridian Order to disseminate information. As the presses worked through the evening and into the day, city criers moved to the various public notice boards to post copies of the Elder Council's remarks on the quest, where they would all read a similar message:
Following the events that transpired in the Viridian Crypt, we the Elder Council of the Viridian Order received a summary report from out own Sergeant Henrique on the findings made in our sacred tombs. After careful review of all the findings, we wished to disclose our final review of proceedings, providing commentary on how things have proceeded.
The preface of the mission given by our honorable Primae was twofold. First, the Knights were to investigate the upper chambers of the Crypt followings its fall to the Deathling forces four years ago. Secondly, they were to attempt to locate the Tomb of Sir Karl von Terwer, an honored Paladin of ours more commonly known to the public as the Heron of the Flaming Sword. With regards to these two objectives, the vast majority of the Orders' representatives have acted admirably.
Pertaining to investigation of the upper chambers, it has been reassured that the structural integrity of the Crypt has remained intact. While some collateral damage from the Deathlings is notable, it is not beyond the point of saving, which has allowed us to move forward with out plans to restore the upper chambers to their former glory. While the Viridian Order could have proceeded with an investigation ourselves, we appreciate that many outside of our ranks were able to walk the sacred halls of our forbears, and pay respects to those that came before.
With regards to the Tomb of Sir Karl, we have confirmed that a faux wall was installed in a side chamber to hide the location of the Tomb from others. The reason for this action remains a mystery, though we have taken steps to begin reinforcing the entryway, to allow for it to become more accessible in the future. And while we also report that some damage was made to the lid of Sir Karl's sarcophagus, we have determined that no desecration to the remains has been made, owing largely to Sir Karl's body remaining lost at sea following our own investigation of the tomb, and affirming the text lining the lid. As a result, we have begun to refer to the Tomb as a Memorial internally, to prevent further confusion going forwards. We also confirm that the alleged Flaming Sword of the Heron remains entombed in the Memorial sarcophagus, and will be having an Artifactologist verify the relic in the coming weeks.
Would these be the only findings reported on by Sergeant Henrique, we would be content to declare this mission a complete success, and would welcome further open cooperation with all orders, both Imperial Respected and otherwise. However, it pains us dearly to have to report to the common population that acts of grave dishonor had occurred in the Crypts. We regret to inform the population that the Tomb of Paladin Carloman Perdammen was desecrated.
As one of the Five Viridians who foiled the Coup Attempt, Sir Carloman had been one of the founders of the Bloodcast Order, before re-entering our ranks by permission of Blessed Henri III. He later went on to become the Pentacle Protector of the Emperor, an honor which now falls to the Imperial Guard Commander. As both a Viridian and Bloodcast, it is therefore most concerning that our liason reported that two members of the Bloodcast Order were to have been in the vicinity of the Tomb when it was found desecrated.
Following an internal investigation, we have voted in the majority to cease our attempts to mend the bridge with the Bloodcast Order, and declare them dishonorable until amends are made, both to the Viridian Order for betraying our trust in allowing others into our most sacred Crypt, and to the Unionist Church, for desecrating the grave of a pious Unionist who stood against heretical deeds to safeguard the Vessel of the Imperial Spirit. We hereby order our membership to cease cooperation with these Hedge Knights, and to act as a check on dishonorable deeds where able.
Following the Viridian Elder Council's declaration, the following statements/opinions came from the other Knightly Orders around the Regalian Archiepelago:
OOC Notes Continued:
As mentioned in the preface, the results of this thread came from the results of in-game interactions. Part of the Knight System will allow for certain player actions to generate certain outcomes, sometime even unforeseen by the DM, such as the case of a few knights opening up a grave and desecrating it by accident. While not every action will see the same scope of magnitude as this one did, it is an aim of the system to use these player-made actions to generate further rp on the server, which is the whole purpose of these Quest Missions.
For the most part, all Knights are free to act as they see fit in rp, unless there was a specific mission given to the Order (In this case, Viridians are ordered not to help Bloodcasts, while Bloodcasts are to try and make amends with the Viridians). Player actions in-game are able to have consequences on the storyline, which can either help in future quests, or hinder them.
The Viridian Crypt will be able to be visited in the future, but not right now. Bloodcasts who wish to make amends will likewise not be able to contact the Viridian Order just yet, though there will be a means to do so in the future, either when the Knight System is fully released, or by a random in-game event if I have some time this week. For now, players are expected to rp on the server given the results of this thread.

Following the Viridian Elder Council's declaration, the following statements/opinions came from the other Knightly Orders around the Regalian Archiepelago:
- Viridian Order
- Declared the overall mission a success, but has labeled the Bloodcast Knights as "enemies" of the Viridians for now. Viridian Knights are ordered to not go out of their way to aid any Bloodcast Knight until the Order can rectify the heretical actions of some of their members.
- Villiers-Eclaire Order
- Pleased that Sir Karl's memorial was found and that the rumored Unionist relic is still entombed (though a few Elders believe that without a body, the sword would be better used by a pious Knight). While they are concerned with the desecration of a Unionist Tomb, they remain neutral in the aftermath, and simply urge their own membership to maintain their duty to guard the Faith.
- Lion Pelt Order
- Indifferent.
- Darkwald Order
- Happy that no aberrant took the sword.
- Oranjen Order
- Disappointed that a grave was desecrated, but are areligious so are neutral to the Unionist Sentiments.
- Blackguard Order
- Finds the desecration of a Tomb to be cowardly, but indifferent for the most part.
- Great Oak Order
- Indifferent.
- Wards of Fae Order
- Disappointed that their members failed to uphold the Code of Galatyr by leaving a possible Unionist Relic behind.
- Monzon Order
- Indifferent, but remark that the sword, legitimate or not, could've sold for a high profit to the right buyer.
- Parthas Order
- Indifferent for the most part, but the heavy Etosian influences within the Parthas ranks have led some to express concern over the damage to a Memorial of a Heron which was first canonized by the Etosian Church.
- Bloodcast Order
- Indifferent, owing largely to the Bloodcast Knights lacking a central authority. One Knight might find the desecration of the Tomb to be heretical, while the next one would call Carloman Perdammen a traitor to the Order he helped create by returning back to the Viridians, and that his honors are all a sham anyways. Still, it would take a large percentage of Bloodcast Knights to try and make amends with the Viridians if they were ever to cooperate with them again for these types of missions. And it would be anyone's guess as to how this strained relationship may affect things down the line.
