A note from me since I am the creator of Ithania and it's my first world project ever. I really appreciate all of you players who want to clean the worlds and keep them clean, since I rarly have time to do such work myself. But I can say that we have fixed a special little feature for this world to make it easier to clean. In the past we have tried to use regeneration commands in places that look ugly and this command messes up the world even more in 8/10 cases we have used it and makes the spot almost unuseable with holes down to the void and so on. But in Ithania we added some extra files to it before upload so we can now fully restore areas to it's original state with help of world edit. All we need to do is to select a cuboid and run some commands. This have not been 100% tested yet but should work fine.
Got trouble with ugly terrain? Who you gonna call? The admins!
If it's above ground it'll probably only be coal, iron, stone, and dirt. If it's deeeeeeeeep undergroung, probably diamonds, maybe emeraldsThat sounds great. Plus instead of dirt and stone in those gaps we'd get things like iron, gold, and did I say DIAMONDS?
Not that it doesn't look great, it's fantastic! But is that why it's not super fancy like Wessex's worlds? It does follow the Northern hemisphere 'biome' guide, that is, north is cold and snowy, then grassy forests, then desert, then more grassland. :I There isn't much world edit used in that.A note from me since I am the creator of Ithania and it's my first world project ever.
I like this post, but could this work for Ellador and Daendroc in some form or fashion?A note from me since I am the creator of Ithania and it's my first world project ever. Good idea, but towny would completely ruin any rp aspect of massivecraft.I am glad Cay puts so much time into the server performance, however since it may never happen, Factions is lacking, Towny has had this ability for over a year ... claim some land, towny creates a map of the land so when you unclaim, or go inactive and the "faction" is removed, it restores the land to it's prior state.
Reverting unclaimed townblocks to their original state on unclaimWhen a town plot is unclaimed (by a player or through upkeep) it will slowly begin to revert to a pre town state. Blocks will slowly change back to whatever blocks we're present at the moment the town block was claimed. A townblock must revert completely before the snapshot of the townblock is removed. If townblock is reclaimed mid-revert, a new snapshot is not taken and if the townblock is unclaimed again it will revert to the original snapshot.
Also all those people who leave signs in your faction, but leave to go elsewhere for x y z reason ? Towny has a mechanic to remove them, the faction owner has access to the command.
Plot-Owners' and Mayors' /plot clear command
A feature available only to Town Mayors on public town land: /plot clear. This command is meant to be used after a plot was personally owned by a resident, who either moved to another plot or left town. By default this list includes only signs, useful for mayors to remove sign-protection on doors, chests, furnaces, dispensers and trapdoors given via Lockette or Deadbolt.
There are people in Daendroc actively cleaning up and enforcing good building practices as well, so maybe Ceardia...If you lack the proper building abilities to construct anything but a cobble box, go to Daendroc or Ceardia... Ithania is for building nice things, not trash. Remember: I am the Dynmap hawk; I WILL find you.
Yes, and I am one of those people thank you very much.[DOUBLEPOST=1356574870][/DOUBLEPOST]Check south of Havenreach in Ithania. Agni and some homeless newbs built cube houses outside of the safety zone. Going around the map to make sure factions look nice later. :3There are people in Daendroc actively cleaning up and enforcing good building practices as well, so maybe Ceardia...
The thing is, though, new inexperienced players will come and buid something ugly, but instead of staying and learning and improving their builds, most of the time they just go inactive- leaving behind ugly buildings with no one to improve them- which is why they should be torn downI understand the beautification petition and what-not, but this was a world built for players, and thus players will build how they see fit, even if that's ugly to someone else. Obvious grievances should be addressed, but we're all playing on different levels of creativity and expertise. I may start with a house made of jungle wood, but it'll slowly build into something better. Maybe that cobblestone house will have windows and decorations by next week. Time will tell, right?
That would be us. Nice to tell a ranger before taking it down yourself. Thanks for the help though, and sorry for the casualty. :SThat's why I keep my buildings camouflaged. Go ahead, try to find them on the map. >[DOUBLEPOST=1356917470][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, doublepost, someone's been posting signs in Ithania on ugly dirt houses. I understand that you want to keep things pretty, but wouldn't it have been easier to remove the dirt yourself?
Someone built a massive stone tower so damn high you can barely see the ground on far view. I've been picking at it for three days and only just got below the cloud line.
use the /he tool so we can see who built it :0It's about 8x8 estimate, with a dangerous spiral stair case in the centre and it's just so damn tall. I'm still picking away at it. 8 Double chests of Stone brick so far :| ... About half way down now ..... *sigh*
Used up all the picks I brought. Did /he tool and it showed nothing, so my understanding is that it is over 20 days old.If you guys ever want to clean something up, I could certainly use the help on this one.
I just noticed on Dynmap that it'd been removed, good job. Yes, the tower was well over a month old. It was built last year during the time I was away for 6 weeks because of a house move. Eigher way, you have my thanks.Used up all the picks I brought. Did /he tool and it showed nothing, so my understanding is that it is over 20 days old.
