She insisted that it was them who they should turn to in the darkest of times; and yet as time soured Kavia's view of the world, she concluded that there was none to protect her but herself. Life Story The Alearaheal family undergoes some rough times about a decade before the birth of their first child. After some particularly bad financial choices, they’d sold themselves as indentured servants to an Ailor lord in Calemberg. This contract held them to work for the next thirty years. Lo and behold, a third of the way into this arrangement, they had a daughter, who, thanks to the same contract, was to be kept there for even longer. She was nursed to by the housemaids, who treated her more like a loud puppy than a child. But, she survived, whilst her parents continued to toil away in the fields. Six months pass, and they attempt to flee with her. When the guards began to pursue, Kavia was unfortunately left behind, nearly killed in the crossfire. Yet, the medics worked swiftly and she managed to save the baby. Months later, her eyes turned green. Her Lord decided to keep her in the dark about the real contract as she grew up, as he was rather enthused to have a superpowered servant. She was raised mostly by the other Elven workers, but gained a bit of a rebellious streak come her teens. As all young folk do, she yearned to rebel, and the only sense of authority she’d ever had was quite literally smothering. She was punished consistently, until eventually silencing. This backfired when her built up rage manifested after one of her caretakers was whipped to death by the Lord’s guards. Later in the week, she crept into the estate, stealing what she could and setting what she couldn’t ablaze. Unwilling to kill herself, she fled into the night. An adult, with a decent sum of stolen money, she fled Calemberg for fear of racism and dipped into the Heartlands. There, she joined a mercenary band. Her choice of weapon gravitated towards whips and chains. She learned more about the practical uses of her powers during arcane-related quests. At the acknowledgement the arcane was her path to identity, she inhaled books and exhaled magical knowledge. Long into her life as a mercenary, with her days as a slave far behind her, Kavia’s eyes changed color. Dreams of new powers assaulted her each night, and a declaration came from the Dragons that be. She awoke in a cold sweat, and vowed she’d never be a slave again. Regardless of what Draconic God brought her back. She comes to Regalia after the dreams end and a discussion with a good friend, deeming it a new path to fortune come the Clicker crisis.
