Hello,

My idea is to have a small list you can set items in you don't want to pickup. This could be handy while mining to ignore cobblestone or while dark rooming and you don't want to pickup certain items because they clog your inventory.
If you put in an armor piece lets say a golden chest plate it should ignore all golden chests plates no matter what the durability or enchant is.

Perhaps premiums could get more types of items to select than non premiums.

I feel it is worth noting that there is a command designed to allow you to delete items from your inventory, it is actually quite useful. /trash
But the concept wouldn't be too difficult to implement, however, the question really is if it is worth it. I mean, there are already plenty of techniques for managing inventory space, like you can use single items to allocate inventory slots for stacks of those types to keep your hot bar clear, then you just use /trash every once in a while.

Edit: I feel that it would actually be dangerous to have items blacklisted for pickup in this manner, for example, if someone accidentally dropped an item but that item was blacklisted, well, that could become an issue.

well the thing is if your mining with haste 2 it can get quite annoying to continuously trash items.

I don't always have enough items to take up my entire inventory. And it would be grea to ignore those annoying mob drops in darkrooms. Like, who honestly needs 6 stacks of rotten flesh in their inventory?

I am in full support of this idea not just due to mining and darkrooming but also for PvP. Nothing worse then trying to fight someone with Unarmed and randomly picking up things like bottles, seeds, sand, dirt, or mob drops.

Last I checked, mcMMO already prevents your selected slot from being filled if you have been using the unarmed skill very recently.

While you berserk you won't pick up items but otherwise you will. Trust me it's been the cause of my death while fighting more times than I'd like to admit.
I could have sworn I've had times where I was just punching pigmen, without berserk, and it seemed to prioritize every other slot in the hotbar first, I tried this with multiple selection cases. Although it may have been related to some other issue.

I'm guessing there is a timer on it but that timer isn't very long and if the battlefield is littered with crap like it very often is all it takes is walking over that item at the right moment and you'll pick it up. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does you're not gonna do any damage until you get that item out of your hand and if that item is a stack you have to go into your inventory to remove it (quickly) which is not a good thing to be doing during battle. Would be much better if you could just disable certain things from being picked up.

Here, check this out, this is from the development page on mcMMO, it will explain a bit on how the berserk is handled.
https://github.com/mcMMO-Dev/mcMMO/blob/master/src/main/java/com/gmail/nossr50/listeners/PlayerListener.java#L333 It is part of the player listener that handles item pickup events.

Since this server has MCMMO enabled, when using your bare hand, it will reserve that slot for unarmed and not put anything in that slot, using the others instead.
Just clarifying.

It's inconsistent though.

As you can see in this vid if you skip to 3:47 in and then 5:08 I clearly pick up items in my hand while using unarmed.

To clarify mcmmo does have a built in white list for things it deems valuable to be picked up regardless of the timer. For example in my nether darkroom: i will end up picking up heads and gold ingots in my unarmed slot, but not any other drops.
