Imperial Decree To Regalia

The Crown Prince sends a letter to Regalia from the war front, to be issued out immediately upon arrival. The letter reads:

It pains me to see the nobility so self involved with their own conflicts to see the higher purpose of the state sail away in their agenda's. I have consulted Mysterious Fong in Daenshore, and we have come to the conclusion that this warring period needs to end. All conflicts are hereby announced at an end. We request Ser Typhonus to renounce his Duchy lands of North and South Calemberg, and accept that he was unable to counter attack the Consortium forces. We ask the Pileran family to support the treaties presented to them by the Anahera. We will not accept further bloodshed on behalf of noble intrigue. If any noble violate our imposed Imperial decree, my personal fleet combined with Mysterious Fong's detacheé will return to regalia, exact a punitive war on the family at fault, and have their family executed for treason.

The Imperial decree of inner peace takes effect upon the arrival of this letter. Any further noble family engaging in armed conflict internally within the realms of Regalia will be marked as a traitor and treated as such.

Signed, the Crown Prince Alexander Kade, Duke of middle Anglia, Count of Medway and all associated titles.

'And what about the Annexed duchy's?'

'He is letting it happen. But we will see his actions when his family gets attacked.'​

I swear if the Kades get attacked when Phon gets accepted into the estate he's going to unleash grandfather fury.

As he reads the decree, Manfried shakes his head in dismay, clearly unhappy with its content. He reads it over frantically a number of times, before turning angrily to his brother,

"This is disgusting! Absolutely foul. I fully support the Crown Prince as far as prevention of conflict goes, but handing the lands over to that rabid Consortium and the untamed Anaheras?! It will not do, I say. Though I know little of the Pilerans, I have but the utmost respect for Lord Typhonus, and I would hate to see this title revoked. Alas, it seems little we will have to trust the Emperors to guide this heathen Crown Prince towards the light, or at least put another in his place. Only through Unionism can our true goals be met, and only by virtue, compassion, honour and justice can we provide this Union that is so needed right now. I must make this endless quarelling the subject of my prayers this eve."

After his brief rant, Manfried continues to look at Sigfried, though his mind appears elsewhere.

Blinking as he realized he had become the focus of his brother's attention, Sigfried sighs as he runs a gloved hand along the blonde trimmed beard lining his jaw, contemplating his words before letting them be heard.

"This is troubling news brother. With practitioners of the dark arts finding haven within the walls of Regalia, the all-but-too-recent vampire epidemic that our guardsmen faced and with the forces of Regalia already divided, I cannot help but wonder where our Prince's mind is. True this may set an example of further incidents such as this, but surely it would be better to unite and lead us rather than flog and threaten our nobles publicly. Perhaps his return may bring change and unity to the populace of Regalia. Perhaps the time in this warring period has changed our Prince and he now sees that as our leader, he must uphold the pillars of the union. But taking away the Typhonus Family's noble title..."

Sighing, Sigfried sheathed his blade as he finished donning his armour before turning back to his brother with a clouded expression misting in his eyes.

"I will not pretend to know why the Prince has done this when it may only divide our citizens further. This is troubling news indeed as it seems events were set in an unstoppable motion during my absence, yet you and I know, brother, that the correct solution will be revealed, and when it is, the faithful will guide those that have stumbled from the path towards the light. Justice and Honour may prevail over all, but without the guiding hands and driving force of Virtue and Compassion many may turn back towards their dark ways. For now I must attend my duties among The Gauntlet."

Wincing as he brought up a subject that Sigfried new did not sit well with his brother.

Imperial Fleet is still strong, and could destroy probably any individual noble's army

As for the letter, if only it had been sent before the battles, there would've been a lot more men left for battle

I am aware. I was expecting this to continue on as a internal conflict. Alas, its resolved itself after a few (but highly costly) battles. So again, kinda anticlimactic. Fun to read, as the writing for these story progression threads are awesome.

Maybe for you or those involved. For the rest of us (or at the very least, me), it was extremely brief and short lived. I am certain that the RP from it was awesome, but like many things in life its just not the same for those not involved.
