As the large group of oddballs and misfits awoke in the large arena, Rama and Kovic were the first to leap into action. Rama opened with a charge, something Kovic was able to narrowly dodge as Rama nearly trampled a fleeing Jay, in the form of a cat. Altior quickly moved into the Void, as his uncle Finwe saw a Shendar and immediately took aim. By using a blood dance, Katar dodged the arrow and darted toward the left, receiving a pie to his face from Badoing the Clown. Meanwhile, Rama had begun to recover from his failed charge as Daniel was defensively casting small bursts of fire, his one rule dooming him in this situation. Alex, who had his Leutz-Epee, had drawn on the advancing Katar, swinging with his whip as the whip was cut away by the rapier. Alex slashed again, but Katar's quick reflexes made landing a hit near impossible. The Clown noticed Phillip, his worst enemy, by then, and hurled a small chunk of glass at him. The glass struck Phillip and cut him as he charged forward and was suddenly blocked by an Altalar falling from the air. The Altalar slammed a dagger into Phillip's shoulder and ripped it to the side, twisting him around, before taking a solid hook to the head and collapsing to the ground, trying to roll away, only to be trampled by the Dakkar that had charged Phillip. He was crushed beneath the mass of stone as an arrow buried itself in his throat, ending him. Finwe moved to take aim at the dueling Shendar, barely holding off Alexander's strikes, as he finally managed to bury an arrow in the Shendar's side. Alex took the opening, slashing his throat, before turning to the charging Clown. Before the clown reached Alex, a massive paw grabbed ahold of his ankle and the air whipped him into the Dakkar. The enraged Dakkar barreled towards the Ur, and this time it was too late to dodge as a sickening crunch pinned the Ur's right side into the arena wall. Kovic managed to reach around the Dakkar's face and crush his eyes in with his claws, and was released. The now blind Dakkar stumbled straight into a volley of arrows from the Isldar archer, downing him, but the final blow was cut off as a flame lit the Isldar to fire. Jay, still a cat, climbed onto the fallen Altalar's arm and began slashing at his wrist with his claws, but he was split open by a slash from Alex's blade. Lloa, the Yanar who had retreated into a ball at the sight of the flames, was eventually scorched by the flames he had feared, leaving the injured Ur, the burned archer, the courageous young fencer, the fire mage, and the half-dead Altalar. The mage was near exhausted by now, as he managed to shoot a jet of fire onto the Ur's fur, causing him to collapse to the ground and roll furiously, and rolling on to the Altalar, suffocating him. An arrow snuffed out the rest of the Ur's life, before a rapier shot through the chest of the archer. The fire mage landed a solid blow on the fencer as he lost his sword, landing on his hands and knees as the exhausted mage approached. Alex gripped an arrow from the Isldar's fallen quiver, and moved to his feet, throwing it with all his strength. The arrow stuck lightly into Daniel as he approached, causing him to stop to pull it out as Alex grabbed his sword from the fallen archer's chest. Daniel and Alex stared each other down, surrounded by the corpses of strangers and loved ones alike, as Alex took a breath. Daniel quickly snatched the Isldar's bow from the ground and knocked the arrow that was just in his leg, taking aim at Alex. Alex leapt to the side as he swung his sword outward, and the blade stuck into the wooden bow as the arrow flew off to the side from Daniel's poor form. Alex pulled at the sword, but it remained stuck in the bow. Daniel pulled the string back and let go of the bow, Alex's sword holding it into place as he released the string, the force of the bow's movement ripping the sword from Alex's hand. The older teen and the young Ailor stood again, their eyes locked, as Daniel limped forward. Alex slipped a hand into his jacket, gripping the small jewel he carried lightly, before hurling it at Daniel as a desperate defense. The jewel caught him off guard, slamming into his forehead with a glint of the light through it's transparent stone. Alex took the chance, hurling a punch into Daniel's throat, and a knee to his groin, before knocking him onto the ground. Daniel stumbled breathily to his feet, before a kick to the ribs from Alex knocked him
to the ground again. Alex dropped onto Daniel's chest, pinning him down, and began choking him out, and Daniel's eyes looked wildly for anything to help him
before settling on a burning piece of Yanar, which he slapped Alex in the face with. Alex dropped to the ground and clawed at his face, trying to pull away the burning plant matter, as Daniel crawled toward a discarded blade. He gripped it and turned toward Alex, who had regained his footing and was approaching, and threw it. It struck Alex's
shoulder, as he cried out in pain. He pulled the dagger out and fell onto Daniel, slamming it forcefully into the side of his head with a disgusting squishing noise. Alex rolled onto his back in a puddle of blood, most of it not his own, and breathed heavily. He had won, but, had he? Was this what victory felt like?
