The following statement is published, with Lady Constance Norinn's indistinguishable Imperial Identification Seal.

I, Lady Constance Norinn, would like to publicly state my disdain for recent events, as well as my utter disappointment and disgust towards those who claim to be truly devout, yet lie behind closed doors. For your sake, may the Goddess Ness take pity on your souls.

I was revolted by the utter non-consideration for Unionist-non-Unionist relations. By the core Unionist doctrine, divorce is not an act of sin. Divorcing is a nullification of vows, not the breaking of them. The radical nature imposed on precedent by both the Celate Reidel and Celate Braunschweiger would invite questions into the very legality of divorce within the City of Regalia, where they each held this Count in contempt. It is far from rare for Unionist Nobles to go through with divorces, as the Baroness Oltorskr so kindly reminded us-- of the Mountain Duke Rodderick Howlester being an example from recent years.

You might ask yourself;
"It's not a legal affair with non-binding effects, however does it even matter?" If two Celates can inflict such dire consequences upon a Count; Barring him from Government and Palace functions, then what could they do to you, the average Commoner who seeks divorce to flee from an unhealthy marriage? By insisting that divorce is treated as 'oathbreaking' rather than oath nullification, this is the very precedent these mere two Celates are enforcing.

I hold Celates Emmerich Reidel and Braunschweiger wholly responsible, and responsible alone, for creating this further rift when the Count Norinn was not even found guilty of adultery, or even formally accused of it at the Holy Inquest. Thus making the Unionist vow breakage void. These Celates simply defy the notion of peaceable divorce. They are quite frankly radicals. There is no dancing around this, no matter how they try. It is a disgrace.

I hold Count Salvatore majorly responsible for this public smear campaign he seems so fond of continuing to fabricate.
You swore on your Patron, the Divine Mendes. I ask, why swear on the God of money for truths? Perhaps learn your own Patron before claiming them as your own. I also find it to be quite convenient you were not in attendance at the Holy Inquest which you so pushed. If you truly were truthful, why hide your face? I pray the Gods have mercy on your soul for your deceptions and dark cold heart. I am ashamed to call you a peer.

Due to the following actions
taken by the Celate Emmerich Reidel, Celate Braunschwieger, and the Count Salvatore; I hereby proclaim and announce my change in religion and faith. I will no longer be a follower of Unionism, and from hereon I will be dedicating my life to the Fornoss faith.

To squash any rumors I am sure will arise; This was fully a personal choice, with no outside influences besides those named. Neither my Husband nor Count Norinn encouraged me to take such actions. I place my reasonings fully onto those who acted in such poor faith.

Make no mistake;
I was truly a devout Unionist. I prayed every night, had a Unionist and Fornoss combination wedding to respect such. I intended to stay such for the remainder of my days. I have spent many sleepless nights praying to my Patron, the Goddess Ness. Praying for my heart to find forgiveness for those unworthy of such grace.

Therefore, I realized I no longer could be a part of a religion that could treat others with such disregard and disrespect
. It's a disgrace, truly. So know when I say, I mean this from the bottom of my heart; Celates Emmerich Reidel and Braunschweiger, and Count Salvatore, you disgust me. I am so ashamed to have ever had any connection, no matter how small to those listed. Furthermore, be wary how you continue on, as I am not the only one disappointed by your actions. Perhaps you too, should consider changing your faith as you clearly are far from devout.

I would like to further add; I hold the utmost respect for all of whom are true unionists
, and I wish that I too were able to stay such.

I hold no hate or disdain towards the Celate Myka, and thank him for guiding me towards Unionism. And would like to apologize for not being able to continue on. I thank him for supporting our family and being a true friend in these trying times. If one wishes to see a true Unionist, look no further.

I hold no hate or disdain towards the Countess Amber Silverberry as I know her words are only continuing to be twisted. I consider the Countess to be a dear friend and sister. I admire her strength and am so thankful for her bringing me not only a beautiful niece and nephew, but also my Husband. I adore her. It hurts me deeply seeing others not respecting her privacy. This has all been so unfortunate, I wish others would give her the grace to properly grieve.

Signed,
Lady Constance Alarie Norinn of Penfork.
Mistress of Staff for the Court of Sturnworth.

A little post-it note underneath:

You who so freely cast aside Faith shall find no solace in the arms of other gods, for the low price of your recantation is known.

Theo.

A reply has been posted underneath; in neat handwriting.

I have been somewhat busy and could not appear at the inquest; but have familiarized myself with accounts of it and the Writ of Sin issued afterwards. Despite Lady Norinn ranting about how the Celates had deemed it a sin, divorce was not mentioned in the Writ. Rather, the crux of issue seems to be Count Lamont Norinn admitting to being a false Unionist that didn't truly hold the faith, while swearing vows under and benefiting from the religion. Yes, part of the conviction was dishonesty of the Sacrament of Union, i.e. swearing his marriage vows in bad faith - But although that may make him look like a terrible husband, it is distinct from a divorce which was neither referenced nor described as 'oathbreaking' as alleged.

Seperately; launching into hysterics and commiting apostasy over a writ one didn't understand is very telling. The pessimist in me would wager that a few months from now we'll hear of Count Norinn converting to Estelley next, and the optimist prays the Fornoss Worshippers ignore how easily your faith wavered.

Do be cautious of apostasy in the future,
Best Wishes,

Miss Nerina Vecellio

From the desk of the Countess Peirgarten, written with magenta ink, a short reply is tacked below;

To the Lady Norinn,
Is the Goddess Ness, the one you wish to forgive these celates souls, not the Goddess of forgiveness, of redemption and for those to better themselves from their perceived wrongdoings? If such is her purpose, it is the duty of those who follow her to walk a similar path, one you seem to have thrown to the wind in an instant, and for what? Perhaps your duty to your family is more important to your faith, but it seems faith means very little if you could so easily throw it to the side and abandon it for another. If your faith was cast aside by the acts of two celates, was your faith that strong to begin with? I question these decisions and far be it from me to be the judge, I do not follow Unionism, but even I can see the hypocrisy comes not from the celates, but from your own word. I hope that you and your family can find solace in where you now stand, the God's may be forgiving of such a decision, but many of the people of Regalia are not.
Signed,
Amelina Peirgarten
Countess of Lorhaus

(A short notice was sent and pinned below. A moth sketch was there, but it was uncharacteristically short.)

Lady Constance,

Please do a new marriage ceremony under a Fornoss priest. I don't want all of this happening so soon after your marriage to lead to misfortune. It doesn't have to be as big or flashy as the last, simply affirm.

Avendryl stared at the pile of recent notices cluttering the board, only for another to join them. For a long few minutes, they reconsidered every thought of getting into politics.

Lady Constance Norinn,

For what worth you may take from these words, I find myself saddened that you have chosen to depart from the faithful. In the interest of stemming any further flow of apostasy, I shall make brief clarifications on the subject of the Inquest and your statement:

1. At no point did Celate Riedel and I judge the sinful guilt of Count Norinn on the act of divorce in an isolated context. Not once have I ever issued a Writ of Sin solely because of the decision to initiate divorce. Motive and intent are the key factors, as Count Norinn chose to justify his divorce on the basis of false oaths and apostasy.

2. Mendes' domain of wealth and coinage is irrelevant to the sanctity of Count Salvatore's promise; for you to imply that swearing upon such a God indicates dishonesty proves concerning.

3. I recall your letter to Sister Fotakis during her investigation, in which you identified yourself as a lifelong Unionist. You repeated your devotion here, and so I wish to provide guidance as is my duty. Is your decision to convert to Fornoss a genuine effort guided by inspiration, or a momentary reaction of anger towards two Celates?

I beg for your soul, Lady Constance, and wish to ensure that you do not hastily lock that soul from the Everwatcher's salvation.

Glory to the Empire,
Baldewin Braunschweiger
Celate of Lödenthal-Dessau
