Noble House Moselberg is a relatively new addition to the Regalian scene, headed by the Ex-Duchess Charlotte Victoria Moselberg. The family was founded by Charlotte in 303 AC to govern the duchy of Morgwenn, using an ancient claim through a family that was absorbed by house Walerius. While the Lady started out on her own, she has garnered quite the fame over the first months she spent in the capital under the new name, reaching from plays ridiculing the Arch Chancellor and his family to essays and books written that were read even by the Emperor himself.
The family gathered a fair degree of infamy as well, heading the Lily Cross Order and standing up in direct opposition to Thomas Kade, charging him with numerous accusations. The family name remained unscratched, and perhaps even more spoken about than before, yet new rivalries arose between the older noble houses and house Moselberg, fueling Charlotte's campaign to break a supposed status quo of jingoists that 'corrupts' imperial politics.
Charlotte founded the Silver Key Society, a late dining club where she technically played 'pretend' with Hans and the rest of her friends for a makeshift noble court in the middle of Regalia. Other members of the peerage perked a weird brow at the club and the influx of members from all races, and wondered whether there was something more behind the society than what is shown to the outside.
The truth was revealed very early: the duchess launched a full-scale political invasion against her foes using the Silver Key and the Lily Cross as support base. She saw the dissolution of the Violet Order and the conviction of house Coen to a hefty fine, as well as the ascension of her Silver Key Society into a charter-above-all-guard-charters with rights to investigate and dissolve the others.
That was, however, the pinnacle of house Moselberg's influence and power. The matriarch grew ever more power hungry and sealed dire pacts with more hideous groups in the sewers. After establishing connections to void cults, vampire covens and even the Arken of the sewers, the family aimed to triumph in a full-scale war that erupted between the many charters in Regalia.
Fortune no longer smiled on the family. Though the Silver Key Society managed to incriminate and dissolve the only mercenary charter, its confrontations with the Crimson Inquisition led to a showdown between the charters in the Society castle, after which each were taken prisoner and interrogated. The family managed to remain largely intact and titled through throwing the patriarch of one vassal gang-house to the stake, framing & blaming all crimes on him.
This led to the current legal situation of all Isldar demoted to marked citizenship, the departure of house Silevon from the Silver Key Society and eventually the second Moselberg trial during which Charlotte was given blame for the dissolution of the Violet Order. The family was fined to a steep amount of gold to be paid over the next couple years, and for Charlotte to investigate the Shendar cult she had previously aligned with.
The woman and her cousin did not, however, remain in Regalia. The two returned to Morgwenn to escape responsibility and to disappear from politics. The curse of the Bleeding Crown soon consumed the family. House Moselberg lost their titles during the Bone Horror Crisis and eventually most of their wealth the following year. In early 306 AC, the two Moselberg cousins returned to the capital to make ends meet, bankrupt and faded into irrelevance.
