House MacLloyd.

The surname is a rather simple one, which harks back to the first recorded member of the family, named, Lloyd of Hofer. He was chronicled for his brave travels around the Highlands as a sellsword that worked for various noble families and earned a name for himself as a talented swordsman and wrestler. It is rumoured that he emigrated from Anglia.

The House coat of arms is burgundy and green. The crest is flanked by boars either side, symbolic of fortitude, strength and determination. The most interesting parts lie on the crest itself, a boar and a ship which represents the House's longtime affinity and reliance upon the sea.

House MacLloyd have long been native to the Highlands, they are most commonly naval officers, Curates, sheep farmers and tavern owners, but also occasionally mercenaries. Although, they are well known within their parts for being loyal to the Empire, to the land and for being reliable people. In the Holy City of Regalia, they are split amongst a manner of all sorts of trades as a result of necessity. The MacLloyd family currently owns a small tavern in the city with a basement brewery and are also known for their charity work and firm Unionist demeanour.

The MacLloyd members are typically within average height ranges, despite their acclaimed Anglian heritage from generations ago. That said, there are abnormalities and there have been some giants within the family, growing well into the realm of six foot and above.

Family Folklore:
- House MacLloyd has a rich Bacheu Tapestry, going back all the way to the immigration of the van Hof family to the Highlands in 17 A.C., it has shown the notable tasks of each of the Patriarchs, and other notable characters of the family since and is still being weaved in current time to record the notable doings of some family members in tournaments or war.
- Seeing as the House is native to the coastal areas it is largely Unionist, which is not unusual for families resident of the rocky coastlines of the Highlands. There are still minority branches of the family which practice the Oldt Fayth.
- There was once a member of the Holm family, rumoured to be so large that he wrestled bulls and bears alike with ease, and took part in various sporting events to quite some ability like the ball and chain throw, javelin throwing and black bull riding. His name was Dòhmnall the Monadh, and he is revered by many MacLloyd family members as a folk hero of sorts. He is claimed by some to have wielded a ten foot long greatsword, that he named 'Nathair-Nimhe'.
- A well-renowned family member named Alastair MacLloyd founded the Corrachag-Cagail Dearth long ago, and every male Holm has been a member of it since. They are known for their love of harsh drinks, dancing, singing and firey colours. Some say it was inspired by Alastair's thick head of ginger hair, whilst competitors claim he was an abhorrent fire mage that hexed his rivals and bewitched flames.

Applications.
Given the fairly lax state of the family right now, there is no existing family tree. If you'd like to apply, copy and paste the format and give me a lil paragraph long explanation of your character how you see fit. Whether that be their appearance, backstory, relationship with other family members, etc.

House MacLloyd, Organisations.

The Blackwood Battalion.

The MacLloyd clan have become quickly renowned as talented warriors, especially so with greatswords which they use to frightful efficiency. The Blackwood Battalion in particular, a mercenary band that roam the Highlands have become notable for this in their use of greatswords to snap polearms on the front line and enter battles fearlessly. They're usually also quite skilled wrestlers and take part in tournaments and brawls as part of a training regime. This particular battalion marches to the invasive music of goat bellows accompanied by loud traditional singing and the sound of heavy footfalls, they do in fact march to a particular song, called 'The Blackwoods are here'. Members of the battalion always wear their traditional family kiltach, members of the Holm family offer their kiltach to anyone who does not have one should they join the battalion. The current commander of The Blackwood Battalion on the battlefield is Ceann Arthur Remko MacLloyd.

Applications for 'The Blackwood Battalion' can be taken on this thread, in the same format as for the family, including an IGN, means of contact, references and a paragraph telling us why you'd like to join.
