With the noble title rework nonsense, I am 100% not going to be able to put in the effort needed to be a noble anymore. So, this thread is effectively dead. I'm only leaving it up at all, because other people who were in the family might want to use it as reference for their own pages when they try to forge their own path. So, RIP me, got demolished by the update, but meh. Good luck to anyone else. -conf
House Helethium
Family Lore and History
House Heletium began in Amida, Etosil, in 265 AC during Supreme Patriarch Petros the Firsts' short reign. The house was previously a fairly wealthy commoner family, which ran several relatively successful Lapis mining operations, which quickly brought in great profits. After much political maneuvering on the behalf of the House's soon-to-be first Head, Count Arayn Helethium, the family was elevated to nobility. This was not a good sign for other Lapis mining operations in the area. After several months of coincidental accidents befalling their competitors, Helethium Mining became one of the largest excavators of Lapis on the Western Coast.
As one would imagine, the family made many long term enemies through these 'coincidences', and Count Arayn was poisoned at a dinner party only 5 years after his family's elevation. Despite this however, the family continued to do well in the mining business, opting to avoid the more aggressive tactics of their founder, and instead seeking to diversify into not only mining, but processing Lapis and other minerals.
Shortly after this, in 257 AC, The Carathius Family- a branch of House Helethium- began when Regain Helethium, Lord Galius' second son, was wed to Araliana Carathius, daughter of a wealthy Ithanian merchant. The family continued on as a strong and fairly powerful business, up until the Bone Horror Crisis...
The most notable event in the following 30 years was in 281 AC, when the current Head of the House Count Andaren exchanged several of the family's mines to Supreme Patriarch Dimosthenis the Second for a large plot of land and the title of Duke. Since then, they have focused primarily on the processing of minerals- particularly Lapis- as well as the mining process on the side. They have also delved briefly into Dyes, Timber, and Fishing over the years.
Modern Day:
During the Bone Horror crisis, House Helethium suffered heavy losses. The mining business is a dangerous one, and as a result there was a very large number of buried bones within their land. Lord Faylan Demneer, Lady Alison Demneer, and Lady Yamia Helethium were all caught outside of the Estate when the Horrors began to rise. It is not known entirely what happened to Alison and Faylan, as Yamia was the only one to make it back to the Estate- and she barely managed at that, and she was horribly injured, losing the use of her left arm. The others were presumed dead after the first month.
Dutchess Mariana Helethium was found dead in the courtyard, seemingly having fallen- or been pushed- from the balcony in her bedroom. The situation between Mariana and Yamia had been... tense... to say the least, for quite some time. Whether her daughter was involved or not though, the last Dutchess got the last laugh. In her will, she declared- of all people- her husband's bastard, Conf Ladveer, as the inheritor of the land and titles. However, this news has yet to reach the Archipelago, due to the Blockade.
Current Lands and Holdings
The Barony of Harventh
Harventh is a decently sized Barony on the North-West coast of Etosil, centered on a decently sized mining town of the same name. This mine has in the past been an excellent source of Lapis, however its production has been slowing in recent years. In 304 AC, this Barony was given to the Lord Arim Heletium's bastard son, Conf Ede Ladveer, along with the legitimization of his birth.
The County of Dolování
Dolování is a large plot of land in the Mid-West area of Etosil, given to the Helethium Family by Supreme Patriarch Dimosthenis the Second in exchange for several of their Lapis Mines. It consists of mainly large mountainous regions that are unsuitable for settling, dozens of scattered mines connected by well kept roads, and one large town centered on a river near the mountains, as well as the Helethium Estate, which some would class as more of a castle due to its design.

Other Notes
After several rewrites, House Helethium has been expanded to include Three Branches! The Helethium Family- the descendants of the original House founder, and main branch of the House. The Carathius Family- an Ithanian branch of the House born from one of the Lords of House Helethium marrying off one of his sons to a merchant family. And The Ladveer Family- a recently born and recently destroyed branch of the family, created when Lord Arim Helethium legalized his Bastard Son and made him a Baron, however as Conf took on the Helethium name when he inherited the House, this branch is firmly dead.
