We act with Chivalry: House Gwentyr attempts to behave with honor and courage in everything they do. While most members of House Gwentyr do not become knights, they still strive for that level of morality. Such a principled stance from a noble house ends up limiting how House Gwentyr can respond to problems, since most others will be able to use tactics House Gwentyr refuses to consider.

Everything for the Great Way: Most members of House Gwentyr are some degree of Unionist and by extension, they are very loyal to the Emperor. They follow the Unionist tenets of Elen, Lady of Rivers most of all, and so many members of House Gwentyr are some degree of Occult.

Protectors of our Home: House Gwentyr see themselves as the representatives of Kintyr and the Breizh culture, a culture that favours old traditions over new ideas. More broadly, House Gwentyr also see themselves as protectors of the Empire, which has led to many members of House Gwentyr involving themselves in the military and guard.

Government: Absolute Monarchy
Press: Open except for unjust criticism of authority or any criticism of the Imperial Family.
Borders: Respect Internal Borders and Borders of Allies
Religion: Unionist Preference
Culture: Kintyr is for the Breizh and friends, but the Empire should be open to all loyal people.
Magic: Pro-magic, but only when used for the good of the Empire
War: Pro-war, "merciful/noble" warfare
Noble Privilege: Absolute, but at the total mercy of the Emperor
Cultural Proponent: Heartland and Regal
Cultural Antagonist: Northland

House Gwentyr was founded by Gwentyr "the Gentle," an owner of a textile mill who was awarded a castle and small plot of land in Alstyr around the year 150AC. Known for being kind to his subjects and merciful to his enemies, he was given the name "the Gentle" by those around him. Later Matriarch Gloranne "the Kind" Gwentyr would start up a new family business: beekeeping. While inside Kintyr the family is best known for their textiles, their honey is their claim to fame in lands outside Kintyr. Following her would be Englebard "the Careful," who would be one of the Dukes to sign the Gwadle. The family has a tradition of serving in many wars; from the Skagger Wars to the Chrysant War, House Gwentyr has been there. In a changing and industrializing Empire, House Gwentyr still sticks to the old ways, but it is becoming increasingly clear to even the most important members of the House that some progress must be encouraged or House Gwentyr will be left behind.

Family Member:

Want to play a Gwentyr? Send me a Discord DM at NebulaePrimo#9853 and we'll discuss a character concept. We are a family that tends to stick to our values, so family members should be Breizh-cultured Ailor who share most if not all of the family's core priniciples.

Ducal Guard:
House Gwentyr's servants, guards, advisors and military retinue have all been folded into the Gwentyr Ducal Guard. Members of the Ducal Guard are expected to be upstanding members of society and loyal to both House Gwentyr and the Emperor. In an attempt to be a self-reliant force, not every member of the Ducal Guard is required to be a fighter. Mages, healers, alchemists, weapon smiths, and even gardeners or construction workers are welcome to join. In theory, the Gwentyr Ducal Guard is capable of acting like a small mobile village, setting up shop wherever it needs to be and creating what it needs to sustain itself.

To apply for a Ducal Guard position you can DM me or fill out this form:
