House Du Lioc - The Lyon Guard

History​

The Lyon Guard, as with the House du Lioç itself, has recently formed under the splintering of the Duke Charles du Loiç from the Ravenstad name. Having always been one of the more politically inclined Ravenstads, Duke Charles took the initiative to quickly surround himself with strong-willed and strong-armed men and women of the Empire.

By virtue of their own initiative, the first members of the Lyon Guard met with the Duke himself, offering their years of experience to him. As the Duke received more pledges, he foresaw the need for an establishment of a formal guard order, befitting of his influence. Thus was borne the Lyon Guard, an elite band of soldiers whose combat proficiency served as the Duke's shield against any potential threats.

Service to the Duke was not without benefit, of course. Members of the Lyon Guard received full training to optimize their skills towards service of nobles, as well as a place to live, armor for their work, and wages to support themselves. In addition to these quantifiable outcomes, they also work in close contact with upper nobility, allowing for potential opportunities leading to wealth and influence within the Duke's realm. Their duties as detailed below focus on protection of House du Lioc and their properties, primarily their holdings on the Crown Isle.

Chain of Command​

Duke Charles du Loiç ( @Morpheus_Dream ) – As the patriarch of House du Loic, his safety comes above all else. His orders are final and must be obeyed at all costs.

House du Loiç – The Duke's relatives are next in order of precedence, being able to issue orders to any guard as long as they don't conflict with the Duke's orders.

Captain – A Captain has risen above and beyond in his dedication to House du Loiç. Captains are able to recruit to the Lyon Guard and organize training exercises and assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Securing the events and estates of House du Loiç on the Crown Isle.
• Escorting House du Loiç in their ventures into the City of Regalia and to events.
• Investigating potential threats against House du Loiç.
• Complying with all training directives of the Lyon Guard.
• Respecting all superiors in the Chain of Command. If issues arise, flag these matters to the next level up in the chain.

Rights:

• Rights to wear a cuirass/chest-plate of plate armor of any kind. (arms/neck/head may not be armored)
• Rights to wear a chainmail skirt/hip-guard, no further armor. (legs/feet may not be armored)
• The right to bear weapons in open carry, but not military grade.
• The right to defend any member of a Noble household from aggression.
• The right to perform citizen arrests on attackers against said Nobles.
• The right to transfer citizen arrests to City Guard Authorities

Limitations:

• House Guards may only be a member of one House Guard at a time
• House Guards may not simultaneously have employment in the City Guard
• House Guards may never act as the aggressor and only defend during attacks
