Looks:
Male Dachwig: Men within the Dachwig family are often blessed with broad shoulders, angular jaws and square chins alongside sharp cheekbones with prominent bulbous noses. Naturally, the Anglian blooded men sprout up to at least 5'9-6'3, but in some cases those who do not inherit the dashing Dachwig good looks are cursed with a humble stature of 5'6 and a rather feminine figure. For the athletically inclined, a short cropped blonde hairdo is often encouraged given their forced entry into either the military or the navy at a young age. For those that seem less than favourable, they are free to do as they choose with their appearance - so long as it is socially acceptable. Hazel-brown eyes sit comfortably in the centre of the faces.
Female Dachwig: The female Dachwig are known for their soft and delicate mannerisms, a certain ideology of perfect beauty and elegance being drilled into them at a young age. They are encouraged to maintain a thin figure, and to apply makeup to their faces and elaborate hairstyles to their golden locks to woo possible suitors. Naturally, women of the Dachwig tree are quite tall, reaching as far as 5'9. As for facial features, the women tend to have small and timid features bar the lips. As with their brothers and fathers, hazel-brown eyes sit comfortably in the centre of the face.

The first mention of the House Dachwig was found in the scrolls of a reverend, as the priest had married off Hildegard Typhonus to the then unknown house knight Sir Rudolf Dachwig after his many years of service as master-at-arms for a cadet branch of the great house Typhonus.
With their ties to such an influential name, an ennoblement was in order, and thus the House Dachwig became the masters of a small patch of land along the northernmost coast of Calemberg.
With their fields growing little, and their people owning even less, the fledgling Lord Dachwig felt remiss in his duties to all he pledged to serve. Had it not been for his good friendship with his liege lord, he would have been hanged long ago for his lax taxing. Peasantry and bannermen starved alike through cold winters, while Rudolf's own family had only enough to content themselves with meals one could expect at a peasant's feast. "Truly a cursed place," many would mutter outside the Dachwig's pitiful manor.
Dachwig coffers remained near-empty for another half-a-decade, until the Lady Dachwig took notice of a gold rush in the not-too-distant Hërzkap Mountains. Having had a formal education and the well-written books to match, she hatched forth a plan to transform their holdfast from little more than a collection of peasant's shacks into a thriving refuge for travelling merchants and the hundreds of ambitious miners that Hildegard needed for her ambitious goals. In spite of their lacking food stores, the Dachwig lands held more than enough timber and stone for boarding houses to be constructed. In mere months, the Dachwig treasury filled to brim. The Dachwig land's many vagrants attracted Calemberg's travelling merchants, eventually enticing them to stay, to trade their wares in return for the goods brought back by the gold-seeking prospectors.
Twenty years was all it took for the meagre holdings of the Dachwig family to swell into a bustling port of call, raking in enough coin for the family to live comfortably then, as well as now. The growing town of Wolfstal in particular, best known for its numerous boarding houses, taverns, and brothels, has brought the House of Dachwig a considerable amount of wealth. With this new wealth, the family was able to invest heavily into crafting their own spy network within Calemberg's merchant guilds, in an effort to foresee and plan in advance of price manipulations, and to influence the redrawing of trade routes in their favour.
