They are a family of slummers who reside within the Old Town, leading the prominent and notorious gang that is popularly named the 'Black Mares'. Treated much like nobility within the slum-side of Regalia, the Ardelan family intends to control and dominate the crime scene.

II - Family History and Relevance
The Ardelan lineage traces it's roots to Alt-Regalian Calemberger devout that fled the Regalian mainland upon the Unionist Schism. With many of their kind, they settled in Etosil, where the family began it's own lumber trade. On the account of the forests that the family had invested in, they are formally named 'Ardelan', which roughly means 'forest'.
The Ardelan's were battle hardened people who had to hold their forests from being charred and burnt by the Etosian Undead bands. Over time, they had to form a band of men who would be tasked with the patrolling of the forests in order to keep the safety. As the family grew in influence throughout their lands, rivalries and competitions with other families followed. One specific Vladno family began to outrival the lumber company businesses of Ardelan's, and soon it developed into a blood feud between the two houses. The result of the family feud between the two companies and houses was the burning-down of the Ardelan forests, done by the Vladno. The result put the lumber company of the Ardelan's out of business, and the Ardelan's developed a grudge on Vladno.
In an act of revenge, the Ardelan's armed theirselves with blades and murdered the Vladno family in one massacre night. Afterwards, the Ardelan's fled the lands by exiling theirselves. Their grandfather moved to the Regalian Archipelago, Subrealm of Etolia, though, as the family was poor, they serviced a Vladno court and fought in wars in order to make coin. Each of them despised the task, though, out of pure need, they had to stick through with the entire ordeal until they could fend for theirselves.
Soon, Antonis could not bear it any more. He left the family, becoming a sellsword for hire, and lived his following years as a wandering mercenary until he married and bore children. With the death of his father, Antonis became the patriarch of House Ardelan. As the children grew and developed, Antonis intended to put them in line to become warriors. However, as the young brothers took to a life of crime and stealing, and became corrupted in their world views, Antonis sent each of them to war, to fight for the country, in order to put them on the right path, while he unknowingly worsened their mental strength as the wars to come would heavily affect the brothers.
With their return, Dorian Ardelan, the oldest brother, feuded against their own father, and unrightfully claimed patriarchy of the family. Together, the siblings landed in Regalia and took over the family business. They led a criminal gang named the 'Black Mares' that quickly rose into prominence and overruling strength within the streets of the slums, respected and feared, major in numbers to the point they could pose as a threat for nobility. However, with the untimely death of Dorian Ardelan, the family took a turn from the crime life and legalized their business, running for nobility and successfully establishing theirselves as members of the peerage, albeit at the cost of many things. After numerous battles amongst nobility and bad luck on their side, Marvolo Ardelan formally made the decision to return the family to their roots, once more promoting the name that is the 'Black Mares'.
III - Family Trade and Businesses
Throughout history and throughout their time in the Holy city of Regalia, The Ardelan family have owned and managed numerous businesses. Previously company owners of a successful lumberjack trading, and afterwards, under the rule of Dorian Ardelan, brewers of a special family brand gin 'distilled for the eradication of seemingly inclurable sadness', the Ardelan's are businessmen through and through. They have managed their own illegal gambling rackets within the slums, dubbed as 'The Lady's Gambling Den' and they have also fixed fight nights in their family owned boxing arena, known to having raised fighters and champions.
As owners of numerous streets and territories within the slums, they have forced many businesses to be signed over to their rule, with which they've expanded their business empire and made coin too vast to count. Through the mischieveries and illegal wrongdoings of their gangsters, they've added more and more stacks ontop of their mountain of wealth.

V - Terms and Conditions
1. All members of the Ardelan family are expected to uphold a clean OOC behavior. I do not wish to have members in my family who are being constantly scolded by staff for wrongdoings. As a member of a noble family with ambitions of prominence, I expect that you play by the rules of the server and avoid giving the family a bad reputation.
2. Ardelan family are expected to be highly active and play their Ardelan as one of their main characters if not the main. This is a crime family, and leading a crime family requires lots of co-operation. I do not run this alone, we run it together. Those who fail to uphold the required activity will be removed from the family. I will expect to see you attend events as your Ardelan, see you running family businesses without being forced to do it, see you building character and developing relationships with your Ardelan. Most importantly, I expect to see you playing your Ardelan without me yelling at you to do it.
3. Gang roleplay is strict and it severely punishes wrongdoings. Expect me to be looking over your shoulder constantly and interfering where I see fit with the way you portray your character. While we are all responsible for the future of the family, I am personally responsible for maintaining it in a respectable, lore accurate, and acceptable state. If you cannot deal with your roleplays being examined, this is not the family for you.
4. You are expected to never stray from the base idea of Ardelan family unless it makes complete sense and is acceptable from both an IC and an OOC perspective. You have creative freedom with your character, but not to the point it entirely strays from the concept of the family and becomes something else.
