I've already had the worst RP of my entire RP's
I got ranted on by a few people but that does not matter
i've been thinking of leaving already in my 3 weeks of being heree due to the fact most people do not accept new-players or tend to run from them or ignore them already be in rp's that don't allow others or be very rude about it i've actually felt very un-welcome during my RP Time here and felt more awkward and out of place in this server i've tried multiple things to try and fix this as to be a kinder person myself but it has gone to un-helpful attempts i often find struggles to find massivecraft lore compliant skins and or getting forms accepted it is very annoying at this since every RP seems to be taken way to seriouslly and non-relaxed i've felt this is more of a adult server then pg-13 or pg itself and felt very annoyed or un-welcome by this server i will most likely not recommend it to others.

Heya. Just wanted to toss this on here for you to see, and hopefully many other new players. Never once were you yelled at or insulted. Myself, and the two others involved attempted to assist you during the RP and after. I am afraid that what you were doing did constitute as God-RP and Powergame, but that is in the past now. You rejected our advice in game, but I will lend to you on here as well. Just work on listening to others and making sure what you are doing makes sense. Accepting other's critique will help as well, and everyone has to start somewhere. Hope you decide to keep trying, but maybe open up to those around you trying to assist you. Just remember, even if you've had bad experiences with 4 players, that's no way to judge hundreds of other players. This community is really large. I'm fairly certain you can get enjoyable experiences from many other players. If all else fails, try making a character that doesn't get into daily conflict with people.
 
Unfortunately there's a good point here.

I think we, as a community, should work towards making RP more open and enjoyable to everyone, not just the small group of elite players who have been around for God knows how many years, and basically run the entire RP world. For starters, the character app progress should be way less strict and nobility should have less influence..
 
If you don't find the abovegrounders accepting, the sewers-rpers tend to be really welcoming! JOIN US!!
But seriously... Stick around.

By "strict," I don't think he means strict as in complying with lore but in terms of writing. The apps do require a lot of work and a whole lot of information and detailing that may or may not even be necessary. While it's true that you don't need an app, getting one approved does make people feel "official".

Okay but as I also said... You don't need an approved app to roleplay. I personally think that the character review process is fine. Maybe if it were essential to role playing its too strict but unless its strict I personally don't see a point to having it at all.
 
Massive isn't for everyone, but I hope you find some enjoyment on another server. I'm sorry your experience wasn't as good as mine when I first joined... but like I said, it's not for everyone and that's why I joined the PVP community rather than RP. (no offense to roleplayers lol) but good luck on the next server you join!

I was just like you when i first joined. I was confused about the lore, and always being corrected for small mistakes, and when i first joined i can honestly say i was a baby handling all of that. But you're improving every day! I used to hate @Suzzie and @iMcMuffins because they would always correct me. But now i'm thanking them for doing that. They, and many others will be there for you to help guide you. As many have said before to me, take it slow, read over the lore, don't try to charge into things. As a friend, i ask you to not leave.

(Also Suzzie and Muffins are we friends? ; u ; )
 
Just like @WillyPilly7 said, he's been there, I've been there, and even some of the most well known roleplayers, have been at that point. My advice is that you try to improve, listen to people's advice, and try starting with a character that's more relatable to yourself. It takes time to improve, and most people on the server are trying to help you. If you want to leave, that's up to you. But the goal of the people on this server is for everyone to have fun, and that includes you. We'll miss you, because Massive is just one big family.

HOORAY FOR COMPLETELY DERAILING THE THREAD!

Yes. Yes you do. Well, you're allowed to roleplay without one, but you'll basically be a nobody in the world, without a chance to have any recognized role or effect in the world.

With that said, I'm all in for detailed and realistic characters, but not everyone has the skills and/or time required to write a character app.

Forums i always have some sort of mistake on it so mines still stuck in the peer review
I don't like asking for skins 1. I don't per-say have money to pay for skins 2. Nova skin and Skindex for me always has for me non-compliant hair ;-;

@Dawnhavoc You can try taking a break from Roleplaying and go faction/survival :) Kill some mobs, mine some ores, earn some moneys, build some stuffs. Maybe even find a roleplaying faction that isn't as strict as Regalia.

Try planet minecraft, I personally hate skindex with a burning passion because like 90% of the skins there are horribly shaded also the way it works to is just horrible, making skins on computers is hard to begin with and skindex makes it worse, that's why I use the seus skin making app on my Ipod. If I remember correctly it's like $3. And I was joking about you paying me just pm me on forums and I'll see what I can make for ya.

I know what you mean Arach by skindex having horrible shaded skins.
There skins are really only good if modern skins are aloud otherwise terrorible.
That and if colored hairs as in 'pink blue green etc' hair is aloud.
Nova skin i can't stand that well due to the fact that 90% of the skins are not that great.

I never liked the ranting critiques myself.
You are looking too much on the bad side of things, try looking at it from another angle...
@Suzzie and @iMcMuffins were trying to help you become a better roleplayer, and in no way, shape, or form meant to hurt you.
We are all here to help you, and help you grow as a roleplayer. We don't want to make you leave!
We want to see you succeed as much as you do, and are as happy as you are when you do!
And, you could be worse! There have been people (who shall not be named) who have tried to roleplay as completely unrelated, non-medieval things. Two I can think of, from a Sci-Fi movie and a Super-hero movie. (Again, not being named.) They wouldn't accept our help though, and ended up where I think you are right now. We want you to fit in and be one of us too! And you said how people would try to avoid RP with you, well maybe you misunderstood the situation, maybe they just didn't acknowledge you In-Character. We might be mean to your characters, but do not take it in any way as being mean at you. And those people ranting about stuff, they can be pretty annoying. Try having your picnic crashed by a maniac who smashes cake at you, and when you try to dodge the cake he rants on about how you couldn't dodge it. :P
Also, I am going to go check out your character application and see if I have any friendly advice for you!
Don't give up on us Dawnhavoc! And you should come get a drink at the bar when I am there some time! My bartender character will most likely be named Jonathan Herran, and I will give you a free drink if you mention my post!

So many people just offering up regals when I have like only 5 regals. I over here like "who do you think you are? do you think you are better than me? well you are."

Also I am at the same point and my char app is going through peer review also but I think that when I just finish it and ask people for more help I will be fine. I think you should do the same and just stick through it and it will start to get better.

And no, you do not NEED an approved character application. While it is recommended, it is not a necessity.
