Life Story
Hesti Poncayah, though she does not know her true parents, was raised in a clutch of five by the elderly Ponco and Adityo. Her parents worked under the southern Digmaan Soedomo Pemdandaya and cultivated the hatchlings specifically to replace them as they aged out of being efficient. The dire situation led to Hesti and her clutchmates having their growth supplemented with alchemical hormones, leading to their physically maturing by the age of five years.

Hesti's apprenticeship was one of constant activity and movement, requiring her to snap from project-to-project, alongside the twenty-or-so-other advising Rama and Kerta, as she juggled the fancies of her autocratic and gluttonous Rama. With the assistance of constant alchemic neurological tweaking by the court chemists, Hesti became a proficient reader and writer; her skills surpassing those of the average Ailor tenfold. Her particular interest in math led Hesti into the field of statistics, a prized position in the militarized court of Soedomo Pemdanaya, where she studied military history, statistics, battle tactics, and, even, combat styles from a small library's worth of treatises. Her proficiency placed her at Soedomo's side in the coming years of strife.

Although the Chrysant War spared the court of Soedomo, eventually leading to him being fractured off into a smaller, independent state separate from the Essa, the First Sendrassian War was not so easily dodged. Ksat and Nang forces of Digmaan Soedomo mustered quickly, used to fighting back raiders, only to be met by a numerically superior force. Hesti served loyalty, her statistical calculations and simulations helped Soedomo hold his domain capital for the entire war. By the time Regalian relief forces repelled the Sendrassians, Soedomo's land had been plundered and most of its inhabitants kidnapped. Their bodies were found sacrificed upon great altars in the jungles.

Despite Hesti's success, the unprecedented losses incurred by the forces of Soedomo left a bad taste in the mouth of her Digmaan. As he was left weakened, his stress was taken out on his advisors through cruel and unusual means. Hesti often found herself humiliated or chewed out for minor mistakes. Although she still held the utmost loyalty and respect for her Digmaan as per her caste, her mental health began to strain. By the time of the second Sendrassian War of 314 AC, Soedomo's forces were unprepared and his court was forcefully integrated into the realm of Digmaan Barata Guru.

With the Soedomo court disbanded and court politics leading to her being used as a scapegoat by the bitter Soedomo Pemdanaya, Hesti was left purposeless. Thus, she fled the rigid Allar society to Regalia to pursue her goals.
