Lana was found in her burned down village by a (race) named Adner Windsor as a newborn. He took her in as an apprentice. He trained her to become a fighter, in both magic and swordsmanship. She has read, study and trained in both for most of her life that was given by Adner. And the magic world she is deeply interested in and by that she has tattoos/markings all over her upper body and arms all representing different elements, schools of magic, and other spells. So once you see her use magic depending on the spell a glow on the tattoos/markings will appear when she is casting it.
Towards her end as an apprentice of Adner he had one last lesson to Lana. He gives Lana an amulet but it has no symbol or markings, just an empty amulet. And Adner says "It will reveal it self once you are ready". And after a few moments Adner dissipates and dies, his last words to Lana was "I will be watching over your journey my little raven".
And so Lana went out on her journey, where? She doesn't know. She will follow the path of the unknown and see where it will lead her.
